Chapter 29

Minerva

Venus and I held hands. Venus held my hand tightly. I could feel how terrified she was; her hand was shaking ferociously. I rubbed her hand with my thumb and gave her a smile.

"I'm here. It's okay," I assured her as I kissed the back of her hand.

As always, the classroom was already filled with our fellow students. The whole class had already been accustomed to the fact that Venus and I were dating while students of other classes and year levels just wouldn't believe the truth. It made my headache worse just thinking about the students who still continue to confess to Venus. I looked at Venus. She's really had it rough. I wonder if Aphrodite also felt this way.

I spotted Mars and Vulcan who were quite cozy with each other. I suppose they had no idea what had happened yesterday. It angers me that Venus had to experience that horrible thing, yet the people who caused this had no idea what happened.

"Don't get angry. They didn't mean it," Venus attempted to calm me down.

I took a generous amount of breaths. We walked towards Mars and Vulcan. Mars gave me a teasing wink. I suppose i really couldn't stay angry at him. I better make things clear. I had asked for Sam and Paris to also meet with us. It looks like they aren't here yet. Venus and I sat across Mars and Vulcan. Mars gave me the look when he saw Venus distancing herself from them as she held my hand. I sighed.

"Hi, Minerva," Sam said with her arm around Paris's waist.

My eyes almost popped out. I saw Paris glaring at me. She's telling us not to bring it up, huh? I'll have Sam spill me some details later on.

"Something happened yesterday. All of you even two of our reincarnated teachers were fighting for Venus's hand in a terrifying way," I summarized.

Paris made an irritated face as if she couldn't believe what she had done while the other three pretty much had a surprised face. Mars looked at me, waiting for me to tell him that it was a joke, sadlu, it's the truth. I played with Venus's fingers.

"It's the truth. I think it might have something to do us being related to Aphrodite," Venus hypothesized,

"But what about you, Minerva?" Mars curiously asked.

I shook my head. My body wasn't taken over by the Gods unlike them — at that time. It would be best to leave out the fact that Athen and Aphrotdite took over our body and almost did it with each other.

"Are you implying that all of us, including me, were fighting over Venus?" Paris asked with disbelief.

"Yes. We're not lying. The fact that you people scared Venus-" I inhaled, I didn't want to explode after all.

"She was scared. It's a good thing that I was there," I explained, biting my lip.

"I'm alright," Venus tried convincing me as she squeezed my arm gently.

Air blew across my face. I could feel the cold air. It's as if it is going to rain any moment soon. I told them what happened detailedly. After seeing the shock on their faces, we began to speculate why it is happening right now. It's as if something or someone is enabling those Gods to take over their bodies. Sensing the cold wind, I felt shivers down my spine as if something bad is going to happen in the future. I could only hope that Venus would be safe. No matter I would be there for her. We will overcome this together.

"I'm sorry for what I had done," Vulcan sincerely said with guilt in his eyes.

I had definitely misjudged him before. I fully know that it's none of their fault, yet I just can't seem to shake this unpleasant feeling off.

"It's alright. It wasn't your fault," Venus.

I clenched Venus's hand. Suddenly, we heard a voice chuckling. When we turned around, my eyes widened. It was my brother, Zero.

"Dear sister, you have to let Venus go. The Gods's souls within them are fighting for her!" My brother said in a serious stone, no longer laughing.

Before I was able to reply, the souls of the Gods emitted from our body. There we saw a replay of what had actually happened. Hephaestus gritted his teeth as he casted a spell on all of themselves, trapping their bodies to mortals for rebirth, making Athena and Aphrodite to never meet again. The cycle would continue as the reincarnation of Hephaestus seeks Aphrodite.However, Aphrodite would always die alone, never to experience love no matter how Hepaestus seeks her — that is until this lifetime.

"Hephaestus, let me go," Aphrodite begged, hugging Athena tightly.

"Never!" Hephaestus shouted as she struck Athena causing her to be wounded.

Filled with anger, Hephaestus casted a spell causing Athena to bleed out and finally lay motionless in Aphrodite's arms. What happened next, made Hephaestus furry with anger and sadness, the Goddess of Beauty killed herself with the same spell that Hephaestus casted.

"Aphrodite!" Vulcan shouted, causing the others to look his way.

Zero walked towards Vulcan and patted him at the back while whispering something that caused Vulcan to become teary.

It's as it all happened in a minute. Hephaestus flew towards Minerva and said, " Athena, take care of her for me. There was never a mutual feeling of love between us. I realized after all these years, I was just seeking for her love since nobody was willing to show it to me except her. She didn't feel disgusted looking at me. She even treated me the same as the others. Maybe if I were to agree for a divorce, we would have become friends." Hephaestus said.

Not before long the sky became clear and their souls disappeared. We were all shocked.

"Would you mind listening to the full story?" Zero said, fixing his shirt.
