Chapter 7

Minerva

The door slowly opened showing a pair of blue ocean eyes that made my ears feel hot. She has a frown on her face which made it quite awkward for me to say anything since we weren't close; moreover, she's known as my bully. I gathered all my courage and smiled at her.

"I accidentally made an extra portion. Maybe you want some? I've got apple pie too." I said as I held up the boxed meal I was holding.

She didn't answer and just opened the door for me to enter. I was glad that she didn't slam the door at my face. I guess all the bullying was for show? This makes me want to know her more.

Her unit was as big as mine, the difference is that the colors used were much darker than mine. This makes the unit feel quite lonely. Venus opened more lights compared to before I came in. This made the atmosphere feel less lonely. She then led me to the dinner table, I was kind of glad that she didn't have any food prepared yet at the same time I felt bad for her. I scanned the room and saw that there was no one else inside the unit beside herself.

"Do you live alone?" I asked, hoping she won't feel offended or angry at me.

"And, how's that your concern?" She asked, with a frown as she got a plate and a fork and sat back down at the dinner table.

"We're not at school. Drop your bitchy attitude for once." I said with a smirk.

She stayed quiet and took a bite of the beef stroganoff I made. Her eyes went big and she ate at a faster pace. She was now taking a bite at the apple pie that my nanny made. I smiled the entire time. How can she act so cute? Mars was kind of right. I guess I did fall in love with her at first sight.

"It's good right?" I asked.

"You're really good at this." She said with a smile as she tilted her head which caused my heart to beat again.

Don't be swayed by her beauty, she's Aphrodite's reincarnation!

Of course she's beautiful!

I mean her attitude is quite messed up in other ways. The way she stood up for me when Xavier was about to punch me. The way she smiles when she's genuinely happy. The way her eyes sparkle when she eats. She's too cute for this world. I just hope she will open up and stop doing things her way that would hurt her more and hide her true self. I should stop blabbering especially when I might have only assumed too much.

"Thank you. So-about my question earlier."

"My parents won't be back for another two months. I have someone coming here twice a week to clean. That's it."

"What about food?" I asked.

"My mom prepares food before."

"No wonder you don't feel like eating." I said as I laughed.

"What are you implying?" She said with a stern voice.

"Nothing. Want me to cook a portion for you for dinner?" I asked asI held my hands up.

"Thanks. You don't act like someone who's called a nerd." Venus said as she took another bite of apple pie while putting some strand of her silky brunette hair behind her ears.

I swallowed some of my saliva.

That was too fucking sexy!

I can feel myself acting like a horny teenage boy. No wonder almost everyone wants to climb into her bed. I tried to suppress that feeling as I came here to befriend her not sleep with- Can't believe I just said that! I really want to smack myself. While I was debating and strangling myself in my mind I could feel someone's breath. Venus was leaning towards me. My heartbeat raced so fast. I could feel a pair of hands reaching towards me. Don't tell me-

"I can't believe that behind those thick glasses were beautiful purple eyes." Venus said as she took my eyeglasses off.

I can't believe I thought she would kiss me. It's just a crush right? Besides, she's already dating someone.

I sighed and smiled.

"No wonder almost all boys have a thing for you." I said playfully.

Her expression became sad.

"So just my physical attributes huh?" Venusa said with a sarcastic tone.

"Partly. You're kind natured too of course in my part. The way you helped an old lady when no one would. And-you helped me and Mars. By acting as if you wanted to bully us so that no one would dare right? Hopefully, I'm not wrong." I said honestly.

"Thanks. You also said the same thing as Vulcan." Venus said as she stood up and put her plate in the fauset.

Vulcan huh? Well, I'm here to be a friend right. My heart tightened after I thought of that.

"I'm sorry about what I've done. It's the only way." Venus said with a sad smile.

"It's alright. At least, I'm always inside your mind, right." I said playfully.

"You're quite a flirt huh?" Venus said, chuckling.

I hate to leave but I must already or I'll be questioned for being late again.

"I have to go. See you later Venus." I said asI winked at her before I reached and wore my eyeglasses again.

I got my tupperware and went outside of her unit into the elevator. I was definitely happy because my parents and even my brother knew something had happened for me to be so happy with a wide smile on my face.

I thought physical education would give Mars and I some justice to show off-sadly, our physical education is dancing. Out of all the sports, why does it have to be dancing? We have physical education every Wednesday and today's another class of it again. Apparently, the teacher would group us today. I hope that I would at least be partnered with Mars so that we could at least suck at dancing together.

As I was gathering some of my things inside my locker, someone bumped into my shoulder. I didn't actually hurt that much. I must've guessed that it was Venus. I calculated the times she would bump into me and found out that she would at most do something to me about three times a week. I believe it's her so-called friends questioning her if she didn't. Well, on the bright side she still remembers me regardless that I kept on bringing her food for dinner.

"Woah did 'The Slut' just bumped into 'Nerdy'? Hahaha" I heard some guy say..

"Venus may be a slut but she's still a beauty and a good friend, and the best is that she's no nerd." another girl said.

I can't believe they judge me by my looks. Really. The society is harsh, no-they're just judgemental. I was about to amaze them with my physical skills. Too bad we got dancing. Dancing and me never work out well.

"Sup." Mars said as he tapped my shoulder.

"Just thinking." I replied.

"About what?" He asked.

"About why the entire school judges us. Besides, today's physical education class." I said, sighing.

"Ugh. Well there's nothing we can do. Besides, Vulcan also bullies me." He said, recovering his scowl face.

Vulcan huh. Venus's main boyfriend. My heart sank a little bit. I may have been too possessive as a friend-not officially.

"Vulcan's Venus main boyfriend right?"

"Yes, not to mention the reincarnation of Hephaestus." He said.

My eyes went wide. What's up with this cruel fate? Besides, wasn't that God, Hephaestus...UGLY??!!! But Vulcan's flaming hot-even though I don't want to admit it.

"If I recall, Haphaestus was ugly right?" I asked.

"Nobody gives you the right to talk about me like that." Vulcan suddenly said loudly causing people to misunderstand.

"I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about Hephaestus." I said in my defense.

"Whatever. Be careful." Vulcan said with a smug.

Well, that's something. He's really obnoxious, I can't believe Venus likes him. I wonder what she sees in him.

Mars and I just looked at each other and went to our next class, physical education. We went inside the dancing room. My heart was racing fast, I really can't wait for this to finish.

"Okay. Class, I'll be assigning your partners." Ms. Grafue said as she started to assign the partners.

I thought for a second, I had heard everything wrong but- I wasn't sure if I should be happy or not.

"Vulcan and Mars. Then, Minerva and Venus."

After hearing that, everyone's eyes were on Mars and mine. Oh boy, talk about attracting the attention of the class. Good thing is that I'm with Venus right?"
