Chapter 32

Gabriel wouldn’t let me take her out on Sunday she made me stay in the house the whole weekend, which was boring unless we were making out or fooling around. I’m beginning to hate these stupid crutches they get in the way too much and I can’t do anything when I’m standing up.

“Just let me help you Lee” Gabriel said walking next to me while I tried to carry all my stuff I still prefer the name Ash but I guess she can call me that.

“No Gabs I have this” I said bouncing my way to class I reached for the handle but she opened it for me I groaned.

“Shut up and get in the class room Ashley” She said frowning at me I grumbled and hopped my way in with these stupid crutches I made my way to the back I sat down and threw the crutches on the ground stupid crutches I frowned at them.

“Really Lee” Gabriel said shaking her head my friends looked at her confused.

“Lee” they asked she nodded grinning at me as she sat down I groaned.

“Yup I’m calling her Lee now” She said I frowned at her while the others looked at me with there eyebrows raised.

“Lee” Alex said laughing I looked at Gabriel she was frowning at him before she punched him in his arm.

“I thought it was cute now stop laughing at her” She said he snickered again before he stopped my friends looked at me laughing though.

“Oh man I want to call you Lee too,” They said laughing.

“There is no way in hell any of you are calling me that, only she can call me that and if I hear any of saying Lee we will have a problem” I said glaring at all of them they nodded still laughing at me I sighed looking at Gabriel

“See what you put me through” I mumbled she frowned at me

“I’m sorry but I still think it’s cute” She mumbled I grinned leaning over to her.

“It’s sexy not cute” I said kissing her on her nose she blushed at me and Alex groaned beside me I looked up at him they were all staring at us questionably I raised my eyebrow at them.

“Like seriously, do you two have something to tell us” Aly asked I looked at Gabriel she looked at me shrugging.

“No not that I know of” I said slowly Sean shook his head turning back in his seat Aly looked at Gabriel.

“Gabby do you have anything to tell them” I asked smirking at her

“Nope unless you know something I don’t” She said I laughed shaking my head no before looking back at Aly who looked like she didn’t believe us I rolled my eyes at her making her turn around.

“Gabby I want to reschedule our little outing again” I said grinning she sighed.

“Ash you can’t drive anywhere and we aren’t going to go anywhere till you’re ankle heals properly” She said scolding me

“ I know I wasn’t planning on going anywhere you can come to my house” I said if she wouldn’t let me take her out then I would have the date at my house

“When” She asked defeated my grin widen

“Tonight at 7 I already have everything ready ” I said I already had everything set up all I had to do was to get Sarah or Mitchell to help with a few things since I couldn’t walk anywhere properly.

“What would you have done if I said no” She asked I shrugged

“I don’t know I would’ve called Scarlett and asked her instead” I said jokingly she glared at me I sighed

“Just kidding Gabby no need to get you’re shorts in a knot,” I told her she was still glaring at me I laughed to myself and grabbed her hand grinning at her and kissing her on the cheek.

“Chill Gabs I told you already I only have eyes for you” I whispered in her ear I saw her stiffen and shiver slightly before she looked at me with a red face. I kissed her again on the corner of her mouth before she faced the front with her blushing face I was still holding our intertwined hands as she leaned her head on my shoulder.

(Gabriel POV)

“Can you at least let me help you get you’re lunch” I asked Ash she so stubborn right now she won’t let me help her with anything, I don’t see why she wont let me thought I’m just trying to help.

“Alright you can help with that because I have no hands” She said looking at the crutches she was leaning on as we walked up to the line. I got in line and got my food plus everything she wanted.

“Go in my pocket and get my wallet” She said I nodded and put the trays down in front of the cashier lady I dug in her pocket and pulled it out I opened it and looked at it shocked before I took the amount we needed out.

“Ash why do you have so much money” I asked

“I don’t know because I can” She said I looked at her wallet catching sight of a couple of photos in a photo plastic thing I flipped through them smiling.

“You carry them with you” I asked showing her I think she just blushed I’ve only caught her blushing a few times since I’ve known her like the other day with the toys yeah that was a blushing awkward moment for both of us.

“Yes I do now put my wallet back in my pocket” She said I laughed and put it back before we made our way to the table today I sat in the middle and Ash sat on the end much to her dislike she still didn’t like Tyler that much but he didn’t seem like a bad guy to me.

“How long are you on those” Samantha asked Ash as she sat down she sighed

“A week if I don’t walk on my leg and depending on how it is by the end of this week” she said I handed her a fork and she started eating her food.

“So will you be able to play Saturday at the championships” She asked Ash looked up at her frowning

“I don’t know yet I hoping I can I haven’t step foot on this leg all weekend and I don’t plan to either and Gabby here has been helping me with taking care of it” She said grinning at me I rolled my eyes I guess I have been helping her even when she resist it like when I made her put her foot in a bucket then I filled it up with ice and cold water she was complaining the whole time.

“Yes and let me tell you she such a wuss” I said Ash grumbled beside me

“No I’m not you try putting you’re feet in a bucket of ice” She said I rolled my eyes at her.

“It wasn’t even that bad you only kept it in there for less than ten minutes even though it was supposed to be in for 15 minutes” I said she didn’t say anything but sulk at her food she’s such a baby sometimes its like the mace thing all over again.

“I want to go to the championships” Aly whined I looked at her

“Why can’t you go” I asked she shrugged

“Because I don’t have a way up there” she said looking at Sean he laughed

“I’m not buying you a plane ticket” He said she huffed at him

“I’ll tape it for you if you want me to” I said she looked at me frowning I looked at her confused.

“How come she gets to go and I can’t” She whined at Sean

“Because she’s the manager” Ash said rolling her eyes Aly looked at me

“Can I be you’re assistant then” she asked I laughed

“No you can’t we already got all the plane tickets booked ” Sean said Ash started laughing at her when her face dropped.

“Shut up Lee” She said smugly I frowned and Ash glared at her she looked at both of us and held her hand up.

“Geesh I was kidding god you two look like you’re going to kill me” She said mumbled I laughed a little while Ash continued to glare at her.

“Stop glaring at her” I said nudging her she looked at with me with this, this is all you’re fault look I grinned at her sheepishly shrugging.

“I already said it was cute,” I said

“What’s cute” Jenna asked curiously glancing between the two of us I smiled at her.

“My new nick name for her I’m calling her Lee now” I said excited

“That is so cute Ash,” She said clapping her hands Ash groaned beside me.

“No its not” She argued Samantha and Amber laughed

“I have to say it is kind of cute” Amber said Ash looked at me frowning

“You’re such a baby” I mumbled she didn’t say anything but frown the rest of lunch.

(Ash POV)

It’s the end of my horrible day my arms were hurting from the crutches and Gabriel kept calling me Lee all day I should have never agreed to it, she needs to come up with a better one than that one. I hated how I had to catch a ride with her every morning and how she had to drop me off I feel useless right now.

“You can come in and stay or you can go home and come back” I said hopping out the car trying to balance myself with one leg before I took the crutches out the car and used them.

“I’ll come back I want to get out my uniform unless I still have clothes over here” she said I thought about it she should have a few jeans and shirts still here I think she still had a uniform here too.

“Yea you have some here” I said she nodded and turned her car off.

“If that’s the case then I’m staying,” she said getting out the car we walked to the door she took my keys out and opened the door for I hopped into the house.

“Um you can go downstairs and change then find something to do to occupy yourself till I’m ready” I said I still needed a few things done she nodded and walked down the hall I went in the kitchen where Sarah Rachel and Mitchell were sitting down and talking turns out Rachel is also going to be in the wedding which is next month.

“Hey Mitch can you help me out with setting everything up” I asked him he nodded leaving out the kitchen Sarah and Rachel were smiling at me.

“What” I asked sitting down on the stool.

“Nothing I just never seen you act so sweet before” Rachel said grinning I rolled my eyes.

“I have been sweet before” I said her and Sarah laughed.

“No you haven’t” They said

“Whatever did the food come that I wanted” I asked Sarah nodded her head.

“Yeah everything is already out I still don’t see how you’re going to do this with you’re She said I shrugged.

“I’ll figure it out Mitch said he had something for me to use so I wont have to rely to much on the crutches” I said she nodded I turned to Rachel.

“I’m going to use you’re bathroom to take a shower is that okay” I asked she nodded

“Yeah knock you’re self out” She said I laughed and stood up grabbing my crutches I went to the stairs sighing before I threw my crutches up them they made it half way before I started to crawl up the steps when I reached  my crutches again I threw them up to the stop before I finally made it up there  now that is a work out I stood up on my crutches and went to my room I opened the door, it still looked the same she didn’t change anything about it, I went in the closet and pulled out a shirt and a pair of jeans before I went in the bathroom for my shower. I didn’t take long because I had to balance on one foot until I couldn’t anymore I got out the shower and dried off and quickly put my clothes on before I left the bathroom I went in my dresser and pulled out the cologne that I hadn’t worn in a while I sprayed some on before I fixed my hair.

“Ash Mitch said he is waiting for you” Rachel said coming up beside me I nodded she grinned at me as I hopped my way out the door to Mitch’s room he was holding a black ankle boot it was bulky but if it would work I didn’t have a problem wearing it I went over to the bed and sat down.

“You’re still going to need one of you’re crutches but this should work with out it putting pressure on you’re foot as you walk” He said I nodded as he undid the contraption and put my foot in it slowly before he closed it over it, it felt a little tight.

“Can you loosen it a little” I asked he nodded

“This is a pump you can use to put more air in it for cushion and this is the piece were you can loosen it up” He said pointing to the pieces I bent over and loosen it and put more air in it I tested it out it didn’t feel like I was walking on anything but air I grinned.

“It works great can I keep this until it’s healed” I asked him he nodded

“Yeah I also have a ankle brace for you to wear when you play on Saturday it should be able to fit in you’re shoe and keep it you’re ankle straight so it won’t bend while you’re playing and it’ll give you support” he said I nodded I needed to make sure I got it before we left. I looked outside it was dark now so this would be a perfect time to go hopefully Gabriel was dressed and ready.

“Thanks for the help Mitch” I said grabbing one of the crutches and leaning on it

“No problem it wasn’t that much of a hassle anyways” He said I nodded at him and made my way out his room and down stairs. When I got down stairs Gabriel was walking towards me.

“Gabs you ready” I asked she nodded at me she had on a pair of skinny jeans a white spaghetti tank top paired with a pair of converses similar to my outfit I had on a pair of jeans a converse with a white button up shirt.

“And she copies me again” I said smirking she looked down at her outfit and sighed before she ran downstairs I watched her figure disappear confused I stayed there for awhile waiting did I say something wrong I frowned thinking I don’t think I did I saw Gabriel come back up wearing a now black shirt I looked at it closely.

“Is that my shirt” I asked she grinned and nodded

“Yup I found it” She said I shook my head

“Come on lets go” I said walking passed the kitchen where Rachel and Sarah were grinning at me giving me a thumbs up I rolled my eyes at them as we passed them I opened the back door leaning on the crutch as I took the lead and walked her down the path she was looking around at all of the flowers that we had.

(Gabriel POV)

We were walking down a path in her back yard everything was so beautiful with the flowers and other trees around here the path we were walking on was like the fancy rock path with the really expensive rocks I followed behind Ash as little ground lights lit our way. We walked off the path.

“Lee you okay with the foot” I asked looking down at it, her ankle was in a black ankle boot as she was using one crutch to walk

“Yeah I’m fine,” She said taking my hand as we continued the walk I had no clue where we were going but I was nervous as I always was when she ask me on dates.

“Close you’re eyes for a second please” She said I did as she said as she guided me the rest of the way she walked away from me moving something around before she came back to me.

“Okay open them” She said I opened them and gasped in shock Ash looked at me and grinned it’s amazing how she comes up with these date idea I have to say she come up with the most unique ones yet. I took everything in looking around we were on a wooden white path way lit up with a string of lights that led to a white gazebo that was lit up in white lights with white lanterns strung around it there was a table a small round table in the middle with a white cloth and a flower vase in the middle and two meals covered by a silver tray cover she grabbed my hand while I continued looking around it was so beautiful looking at everything even the shrubs had lights wrapped around them and there was a pond or lake that the Gazebo was in the middle of it that had a white glowing  flower water lanterns floating around it everything was so gorgeous and breathtaking I couldn’t describe it.

“How did you do all of this,” I asked her amazed she shrugged

“I had some help from Mitch and Sarah,” She said pulling me forward to the to down the path I smiled at the little flower lanterns in the water I cant believe she went through all this trouble it must of took them forever to fill the lake up with those but it was mesmerizing. We reached the middle and she pulled out my seat I sat down and she pushed me in before she hobbled over and sat down in her seat.

“Do you like it” She asked I didn’t say anything I was so caught up it everything

“Gabs is that a no” She asked

“No its wow” I said she laughed slightly

“I guess that’s a yes, then I’m glad you like” she said I turned to her as she grinned at me I grinned back.

“Lee this is amazing” she laughed again at me shaking her head

“Only the best for you Gabs” She said smirking making me blush while she grinned at me.

“Now for the meal”

“Is it ham and cheese again” I asked laughing she laughed with me shaking her head no.

“No I have upgraded since then” she said rolling her eyes at me as she lifted my tray up I looked down as the smell hit my nose my mouth started to water at it I didn’t know what it was but smelled good.

“What is it” I asked her she laughed lifting her tray to

“Its Waitrose Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice” She said I looked at her she sighed.

“Marinated chicken breast served with Rice” She said okay I understand that, I had no clue what she was talking about at first.

“Gabs you take the fun out of everything” She said shaking her head chuckling I laughed and picked up my fork and cutting the chicken before I lifted it up and at a piece.

“So” She asked waiting for my response I swallowed

“Its delicious” I said she nodded before she started eating.

“What do you plan on doing after high school” She asked pouring us something to drink in the glasses. I swallowed my food.

“I know I’m going to college I just need to figure out my major I want to do” I haven’t really thought about it yet she nodded.

“You might want to look into that Gabs” She said smirking I laughed

“I know I’m working on it” I rolled my eyes at her stuffing another piece of chicken into my mouth.

“What about you I know you don’t want to play professional basketball” I said she sighed

“No I don’t I honestly only play for fun most of the time and I’m taking up business to get an MBA degree” She explained oh so she wanted to be a business owner or something along those lines I think that’s a good thing.

“So you want to own a business”

“Yup most likely now back to you I wasn’t finished I know mostly everything about you so tell me something I don’t know” She asked smirking at me I thought about something she doesn’t know.

“I’m afraid of squirrels” I said she started laughing

“Squirrels” she said through her fit of laughter I frowned at her

“It isn’t funny I had a bad experience with them, when I was younger one attacked me” I said she sobered up still chuckling a little

“Man that’s funny Gabs” I glared at her and she stopped laughing but she still had that smile on her face.

“What about you Lee” I asked she shrugged thinking until something popped into her head.

“Well um when I was younger I used to dress up as superhero everyday and go to school like that I think I stopped when I was in 3rd or 4th grade” She said I laughed

“And you’re dad let you” I asked she nodded

“Something about freedom of expression but he had his limits he wouldn’t let me dress up as captain underpants” she said shaking her head while I laughed

“So that is why you only wear under clothes around the house because of you’re childhood trauma,” I said faking gasping she laughed.

“No, I never wear clothes only once in a while, I like to be free” She said laughing along with me.

(Ash POV)

I’m so relieved that she likes everything and is enjoying it we’ve been out here for about an hour talking about nothing and everything at the same time. Right now we are both laying on the other side of the gazebo which was an open roof one looking at the stars I had turned off all the other lights I had set up except for the floating flowers of course.

“That the big dipper” I said pointing to the line of stars

“I don’t see it” she said I sighed and took her hand tracing the outline of it.

“right there the one that looks like a spoon” I said pointing again she squinted

“ I still don’t see it” She mumbled I chuckled sitting up on my elbows.

“Alright lets try something else that right there is Orion,” I pointed at the constellation.

“Lee I can’t see anything but a bunch of stars” She whine I rolled my eyes at her

“Look closely Gabs, right there is his head then you go down and you see his body now look off to the left and you see his arm holding a shield and the look to the right you see his hand up in the air holding a sword” I said guiding her eyes with my hand she was still looking lost but she smiled at me and sat up bouncing.

“I see it I see it” She said excitedly I laughed at her

“About time now look over there those are the Gemini twins the ones that are holding hands looks like they are running somewhere” I said she nodded her head grinning when she saw them.

“How do you know so much about this stuff,” She asked I shrugged laying back down looking up at the sky she did the same.

“When I was younger me and my used to have an outdoor piano over here and we used to play then look at the stars when we were finished” I said she looked over at me and I did the same smiling at her.

“You really miss her don’t you” She said I nodded

“Of course she was the best mother anyone could have asked for, and I was really close to her everywhere she went I went” I said smiling I really did miss my mother.

“She used to tell me when I was little that when people die they go into the sky and become a star” I said chuckling at the memory

“Which one do you think she is” Gabriel asked quietly I pointed to the brightest one.

“That one right there I never notice it until she died so its her” I said grinning at her she smiled back at me. Just as a star flew across the sky.

“Make a wish Gabs” I said she laughed and closed her eyes for a minute before she opened them.

“What you wish for” I asked she looked at me grinning.

“I can’t tell you or it won’t come true” She said I laughed at her

“What about you” I turned to her giving her a soft smile

“Nothing I didn’t wish for anything” She looked at me confused

“Why”

“Because silly I have part of what I want laying right beside me” I gave her a small smirk as she blushed under the moon light I leaned over and kissed her tenderly before I pulled back grinning at her I laid back down staring the stars as she took hold of my hand and leaned her head against me.

We stayed out here for a little in a comfortable silence, until I told her we had to head in she was getting sleepy.

“What about cleaning,” She asked as we walked back up the path.

“I’ll get it later” I replied back we made it in the house where Mitch and Jesse were standing in the kitchen talking about a football game we walked past them and down to the basement room where she got undressed and went straight into the bed I laughed and did the same she didn’t even bother to put a shirt on I jumped into bed with her.

“Did you tell you’re father you were staying” I asked quietly as she cuddled up to me.

“Yeah he said it was fine” She mumbled into my neck I nodded turning the bedside light out.
