Fun with the Family

Needs to be edited some words need to be taken out and some need to be changed. Might take awhile to edit and upload, my sis just took her computer back and mines didn't come yet.

Chapter 5

(Ash POV)

After practice I went home and took a shower. I threw on some sweat pants and a t shirt not bothering to dry my hair and headed downstairs, where I was surprised to see my sister Jessica and two of my brothers Andrew and Mitchell sitting at the table with my dad.

"Why are you guys here?" I asked as they turned towards me with a look of shock when they took in my appearance. I haven't changed that much have I, I only cut my hair, but I've been cutting my hair short since I was thirteen or fourteen, but then again I haven't seen them since I was 12, even though they do ring every so often.

"Ashley is that you? What did you do to your hair you look so different" I cringed as she said my name I really don't like the name Ashley. I ran my hand through my wet hair.

"Um I cut it obviously" I mumbled back

"I know that, I'm not stupid but why" She asked I shrugged my shoulders my sister is the ultimate girly girl she looks just like my mom with light brown eyes, Auburn hair high cheek bones, plump lips and a hour class figure. Also you would never catch her in anything that isn't feminine or the latest design.

"Because I wanted to, is there a problem with it" I asked as I walked past the table to fridge and got a can of soda out.

"Well" She was cut off my Mitchell

"Anyway to answer your question I'm getting married in January so we are staying here until the wedding" He said ok so Mitchell also looks my mother except with Black hair and sharp jaws which he gets from my father, but he had the same light brown eyes as my mother.

"What everybody is staying here?" I choked on my soda

"Yea I think that's what I just said" Mitchell said

"But don't you have jobs ?" I asked seeing as they all lived in New York and that's a long way from California.

"Yup but we can work from home" Andrew piped up unlike the others, Andrew looks my dad with black hair and blue eyes with the jaw line.

"So I don't get congratulation or anything" Mitchell asked smirking at me

"Oh congrats who is the lucky girl" I said with fake enthusiasm

"Well her name is Sarah and she will also be staying here with us when she comes tomorrow" Mitchell said with a dreamy expression on his face.

"Ugh where is she going to stay I'm definitely not giving up my room or sleeping in the same room as her" I whined

"Well she can stay in my room of course, there are plenty of room" Mitchell said grinning

"I can't deal with all these people in the house" I muttered to myself

"Ash stop complaining there are 7 rooms with a den and plenty of space I'm sure you won't run into anyone" My father told me looking at me with a expression that said not to say another word.

"Fine " I sighed tossing the can in the trash

"Ashley it's not going to be that bad it's going to be just  like old times" Andrew said excitedly for him to be the oldest he was the most immature out of all of us.

I eyed him  "Down boy when is Nathan coming" I asked

" He said he be here tomorrow morning and we are going out to lunch tomorrow when he comes and don't stay up to late and be ready by 11:30" My dad told me

"Which restaurants are we going to" I asked hoping it wasn't fancy I really don't like ties that much.

"L 'Orangerie" he replied oh god I hate that restaurant.

"Cant we go somewhere else" I asked hoping he would say yes

"No I made reservations last week for 8 and I haven't seen Jacques in awhile I thought I should pay a visit to him" He said

"Well, why do you have to go to his restaurant to pay him a visit you could be normal and pick up the phone" I whined at him I know its immature but I really hate fancy place I prefer T.G.I Fridays something casual.

" Ash stop complaining and wear something nice no t-shirts either or holes in your pants do you understand" He asked with a look of disapproval on his face.

" Fine " I huffed and sat down

" Don't worry father, I'll get Ashley ready she can wear this dress I purchased  the other day and I can do her hair nails and makeup" She again was cut off my laughter from Jesse who just came down stairs.

"What, what's so funny?" Jessica asked confused while the other looked at him the same way

"Nothing nothing continue what you were saying" He said trying to hold back his laughs as I glared at him.

"Any way like I was saying hair" I cut her off

"Stop ok. If you all are going to stay here there are some ground rules.One stop calling me Ashley I go by Ash. Two stay out of my room or any of my stuff   Three stay out my business and don't ask questions got it" I watched as all of them nodded except for Jessica.

"Ashley I don't know who you think you are, but you will not talk to me like that I'm your elder and you will respect me" Jessica stated  god I want to strangle her.

"Don't call me that and I don't have to respect you I haven't seen you in nearly 5 years, you can't waltz's back in here like you're in charge of everything because you're not" I shouted that last bit at her watching as a little vein bulge out the side of her neck.

"Ok girls stop, Jessica she does have a point you can't come back demanding everything. Things have changed as you can see" Jesse put it sitting down next to me.

"I don't care how long I've been gone she needs to learn to respect me" She said through clenched teeth.

"I'll respect you when you respect me and do the three simple things I ask you to do it's not hard"

"I'm not calling you Ash, your name is Ashley I'm calling you that and that's final plus it's too boyish" She said with her chin in the air, I threw my hand up and turned to my father hoping he would step in, but seemed to amused too at this point.

"Dad fix this cause I can't deal with her obnoxious attitude for 5 months"

"I'm not obnoxious" She screeched I looked towards my dad again with a pleading expression he sighed.

"Alright Jessica that's enough from you, you will respect Ash's wishes while you're here, that means not going into her room or her stuff and staying away from her business and please call her Ash if that's what she wants to be called and I don't want any more arguing  from you two. Understand" He said looking at both of us.

"Yes sir" I saluted him. but he glared  while I grinned sheepishly

"Whatever" Jessica said with her arms crossed how mature right?

"Well I'm going to bed" I said a trotted up the stairs with Jesse following behind me.

" Are you going to tell them?" Jesse asked as we entered my room I looked at him confused

"Tell them what?" I asked sitting on my bed with him

"That you are a lesbian" He said like it was the most obvious thing.

"Oh they'll find out tomorrow before we leave I shouldn't have to spell it out for them" I shrugged not caring if they knew or not. Its not like its any of their business who I date or sleep with.

"Jessica going to be against it" He stated looking at me for a reaction

"I don't really care about what Jessica thinks to tell you the truth" I mumbled to him

"Well I'm always here if you need anything oh and you need to get a haircut" He said while tugging at my hair.

"I know I'll get one next Saturday" My hair is getting too long for my liking it's already over my ears and keeps getting in my face, but I cut it 2 weeks ago ugh my hair grows too fast.

"I could cut it for you" Jesse grinned at me my eyes widened thinking about the last time he cut it for me, I had patches and it was uneven, I had to get a buzz cut to even everything out.

"NO, get out, get out" I pushed him out as he laughed at my reaction and when I slammed the door and locked it. I hopped in bed and set my alarm for 11:00 before going to sleep.

"ASH ASH WAKE UP" I heard someone shouting and banging on my door

"Leave me alone" I yelled back before going back to sleep

"ASH WAKE UP YOU"RE GOING TO MAKE US LATE FOR RESEVATION ITS 11: 10 YOU HAVE 20 MINUTES" Jesse shouted through the door.

"What I set my alarm for 11:00" I looked at the clock and saw that it was 11:10 like Jesse said that can't be right I set it for eleven I picked up the clock to see that I in fact set it for PM instead of AM.

"Great now I have to rush" I ran into the bathroom brushed my teeth and washed my face. I then went into my closet and picked out a white button up shirt a heather grey  cardigan my black tie and a pair of jeans I quickly ironed the sweater and shirt and threw them on. I went back into the bathroom sprayed some cologne called Fierce by Abercrombie.

I looked at my hair " Oh holy mother of pearl" I mumbled as I fumbled with my hair I really need it to be cut it looks like a bird nest I glance at the clock, I have 10 minutes to fix this mess. I grabbed my comb, brush and hair spray, I combed like my life depended on it once the knots were out I pulled it up into a manbun. Ok I'm finished I went back to my closet grabbed a pair shoes, my  watch and then my tie off the bed and went out my door.

As I was walking down the hallway toward the stairs I slipped my shoes on and my watch. I tucked my shirt in and finish buttoning the top. I tied my tie and button my cardigan up. Ok this should be appropriate for the restaurants maybe I should put on some khakis I shrugged it off and continued to the stair to my awaiting family and Mitchell's fiancée Sarah.

"Where the hell is she I knew I should've helped her get dressed" I heard Jessica say

" Oh Shut up I'm right here" I mumbled they turned around and looked at me up and down I ignored their shocked stares.

"So are we going or are you going to stare at me all day" I asked

"Good you don't have holes in your pants and no t-shirt we can go" My dad said and left out the door. I rolled my eyes at him I know what to wear when we go out I'm not a lost cause. I turned to my brothers and sister who were still staring at my outfit and me.

"Mitchell honey it's not polite to stare" the girl I presumed was Sarah said to Mitch. She was actually pretty I didn't know he could get someone like her she has dirty blonde hair that was curled light grey eyes with high cheek bones she has to be about 5'8 and she is wearing a white and pink summer dress.

"Hi I'm Sarah you must be Ashley you are so adorable" She spoke politely holding her hand out I shook her hand and introduced myself.

"Yea that's me but please call me Ash and it's nice to finally meet you" I smirked and she beamed back.

"Well lets go before dad blows a fuse" Jesse said draping his arm around me and walking outside.

"You clean up very nice" Jesse said looking at my outfit

"Well I have to since I'm the best looking in the family" I playfully nudged him he grinned at me.

"No you're not it's clearly me" He stated

"Ok let's play a game" he looked at me suspiciously

" Go on I'm listening" He said as we got in the back of our dads escalade  followed by the others I was between Sarah (who was sitting next to Mitchell) and Jesse. In front of us were Andrew, Jessica and Nathan.

"Let's see who can pull the most numbers tonight who ever loses has to be the winners servant for a week" I looked at him knowing he would accept the bet he never one to turn down a bet.

"Ok, but if one of us can get a girl to kiss us and the other doesn't that's an extra week of servitude " he added we both agree on the terms.

"Hey I want in on this and I'm adding 100 dollars from each of us goes to the winner and 200 dollars for the kiss" Nathan turned around Jesse and I looked at each other and shrugged.

"Fine by me the more the merrier" I said we shook on it.

"Prepare to lose my little siblings" Nathan said and turned around.

"You do realize I'm going to win right" I told Jesse who smirked at me.

"Nope,  the ladies love me" I laughed

"Right if you say so" I looked to my side and saw Sarah and Mitchell shaking their heads at us.

"Real mature Ash"

"What? We might as well make the night fun and you would have joined in too if you weren't engaged" I told him smiling at him as Sarah looked at him out the corner of her eye.

We finally arrived at the restaurant.

"You ready boys to get your arses kicked" I told them as we enter the restaurants

"Nope totally going to win" Nathan said smirking as we made our way up to the hostess to get our seats

" As if I'm going to win" Jesse said to us grinning they are so going to lose, at least I'll be a a few hundred richer and I'll have them catering to me for two weeks. The hostess grabbed some menus and led us to a table close to the back. He placed our menus down.

"The waiter will be with you in a moment" he said before leaving.

"Look here comes the waitress now and she's hot I call dibs on her first" Nathan whispered to Jesse and I.

"It's a game you can't call dibs we all have fair game at her" Jesse whispered back

"Either way I'm still going to get to her first" He whispered at him

"Actually I'm going to get it first" I whispered to them they rolled their eyes at me and I smirked.

"Ash you can't handle her she needs a real man in her life" Nathan said

"Well that means you can't get her since you're clearly not a man" I retorted back

"Hey you two shut up, here she comes watch and learn" Jesse said turning sitting up straight as she came over.

"Hi my name is Rachel and I'll be your waiter for this afternoon can I start you off with some drinks or appetizers" I looked up when she said her name it was none other than Rachel from school well this is going to be easy seeing as though I have her number already I watched as she asked came around to Jesse

"And what would you like sir"

"Well are you on the menu" He smiled a seductive smile oh man such a corny line.

"I'm sorry sir but no" She frowned at him

"Oh then I'll get a coke" He mumbled obviously mad about it.

"And you sir" She asked Nathan through gritted teeth he looked a little scared if you asked me.

"Um sprite" He said quickly she turned to me and her eyes widen when she realized it was me, I shook my discreetly as if saying don't mention my name she clearly understood what I meant.

"And what about you" she asked

"Just a Dr Pepper" I said and smirked at her before she turned around and left to get our drinks.

"Jesse what was that really are you on the menu that was so corny and Nathan you looked like you were about to piss your pants" I laughed at them while they glared at me

"Well I didn't see you try" I heard them both whisper to me

"Because I know what I'm doing when the appetizers come out I'll get her number and by the end of the night I'll get the kiss too" I stated they looked at me as if they didn't believe me.

"Ash trust me if she didn't fall for us she not going to fall for you" Nathan said to me

"Look Nathan I know what I'm doing now shut up she coming back" I said and sat back up.

"Do you know what you guys want for the appetizers yet" everyone nodded and ordered when she left we started our conversations again.

"Sorry Ash, but I have to agree with Nathan on this you're not going to get her number" Jesse said

"Whatever just be prepared to do what do want for the next 2 weeks" I told them grinning

"Right while you're doing that I'm going to scope out someone else" Jesse said looking around.

"What are you guys whispering about down there" My father asked causing all of us to lift our heads up.

"Nothing just playing a little game" I said smiling slightly at him

"I want to play" Andrew said excitedly Jesse , Nathan and I gave him a dry look

"Sorry Andrew you're too old to play you can play the next game" I told him his face turned down as he pouted.

"Anyway so how's life been going for all of y'all" I asked them

"Fine as you can see I'm engaged" Mitchell said smiling down at Sarah

"Great actually the business is going great" Andrew replied sipping his soda

"Same as me I just got promoted" Jessica mumbled looking at me with narrowed eyes what's up her arse, I didn't do anything to her.

"Well I just got a raise" Nathan said still looking around for a girl.

"I'm glad to hear that all of you are doing well but you should try to keep in touch" My father told them they nodded

"So Jesse what have you been up to" Jessica asked

"Nothing much finishing college I have one more year left then I'm finished"

"What about you Ashley anything you want to tell us" Jessica asked with narrow eyes I glared back at her now, I know why she's looking at me that way everyone turned towards us watching our conversation.

"It's Ash and I have one more year left" I grumbled at her

"Anything else you like to tell us" She asked

"Nothing that isn't already obvious, but I did make the teams Point Guard again this year" I told her smirking at her as she glared at me.

"You made the point guard why didn't you tell me" Jesse said

"I forgot coach been killing us with the try-outs and the first week of practices" I replied

"Oh did Sean make the team too" He asked

"Yes we always make the team together" I replied

"Oh it's a co-ed team" Sarah asked I forgot she was here

"Nope" I said shaking my head

"Then how are you on the team" Mitchell asked confused

" Because I play better than half of the team and the coach said if I can beat the whole team one on one I could be on the team, plus they don't have a girls basketball team" I told them.

"So you're the only girl on the team" Andrew asked curiously

"If you can call her a girl" Jessica mumbled I rolled my eyes at her

"Shut up Jessica and yes I'm the only girl on the team"

"The food is here" Mitchell said looking at the waiters who were bringing our food with Rachel.

"Watch and learn boys this is how you do it" I whispered at Nathan and Jesse they looked at me with the eyebrows raised.

"You're not going to get it Ash I couldn't get it" Jesse whispered to me again

"Shut up and watch" Rachel put my food in front of me I looked at her.

"Could you show me where the bathroom is" I smirked at her slightly causing her to blush.

"Sure follow me" I stood up and turned to the boys and winked they looked at me with their mouths opened as I followed her to the bathrooms

"So I didn't know you worked here" I asked when we to reached the bathroom

"Yea just started 2 weeks ago so what did you want" She asked

"I just can't talk to you anymore" I asked grinning as she looked at me with a questionable stare.

"Really Ash? you and I both know we only talk to each other if we need something"

"Ok you got me there I just need you to put on a show for my brothers we have a bet going to see how many numbers we can get whoever gets the most wins losers get to be servant for a week but if I get a kiss I get them for two week and a few hundred dollars" I said in one breath hoping she would say yes.

"Ok I'm off in an hour by that time you all should be finished" She said

"Thanks you're a life saver oh and do you have a pen and paper" I asked she nodded and took out her pad she used to write down orders.

"Yea why"

"Just write your name and number down" I told her and she nodded and wrote it down she tore out the piece of paper and handed it me.

"Thanks again Rachel" I said gratefully

"Anytime Ash" She told me smiling I kissed her on the cheek and made my way back to the table.

"Let me guess she didn't give it to you" Nathan said laughing

"It's ok Ash we didn't get it either" Jesse said while patting my back Mitchell looked at me sympathetically.

"What are you guys talking about I did get the number" I pulled out the piece of paper

"What let me see that" Jesse took the paper out my hand

"Well I'll be damned she actually got the number" Jesse said shocked

"What did you do to get it" Nathan asked suspiciously

"That's for me to know and you to never find out that means I'm in the lead 1 for me 0 for both of you " I winked at them and started eating.

" Its not over yet sis" Nathan said before he started eating.

( 1 hour later)

My dad is paying the bill at the front, while the rest of us our outside waiting.

"Ok lets tally them in" Nathan said pulling out his numbers me Jesse, Mitchell and Sarah are all in a small circle.

"Ok I got 9" Nathan said showing us the papers I grinned this was too easy

"I got 9 too I guess we can share Ash" Jesse said

"Wait you didn't ask me how many I got" I huffed at them they grinned at me

"Ok ash how many do you have"

"12" I said grinning even more they looked at me and the papers in my hand

" What, but you're a girl this can't be right" Nathan said taking my papers from me

"Hey that's the girl number I wanted how you get it" Nathan exclaimed

"Oh Michelle the blonde she was nice" I said to them Mitchell started laughing

"You guys just really lost to your little sister in picking up girl's"

"I told you I'm better looking than both of you" I said grinning waiting for Rachel to come out.

"Well at least nobody got the kiss now that would be cool" Sarah said laughing we all laughed

"Come on lets go to the car I want my money too" they both grumbled before giving me my 100 dollars and we started walking back to the car.

"ASH" I heard Rachel running up to me I turned around and as she caught up.

"How may I be of service" I asked

"Well you forgot something"

"Really " I asked she got closer to be and kissed me I smiled and kissed her back, my arms wrapped around her waist as she ran her hand through my hair and pulled me close. We both pulled back breathless with our foreheads pressed together I looked at her flushed face smirking

"Thank you" I whispered to her she nodded.

"You owe me Ash" She whispered back I gave her a small peck on the lips as she slipped something into my pocket and walked away.

I turned around grinning like a mad man; I walked past my brother's, sister and soon to be sister in law who were staring at me with their mouth opened.

"That is how you do it boys oh and that's 200 dollars from each of you" I laughed and got into the car.

"What the hell how did she do that?" I heard Mitchell say as they got in the car

"I told you guys I guys I know what I'm doing"

"That would have been totally hot if you weren't by sister" Andrew said closing the door to the car.

"I can't believe we lost to our little sister" Jesse kept mumbling

"Hey what she put in your pocket" Sarah asked I forgot she put something in my pocket I reached in my pocket and took the paper out and unfolded it and laughed.

"What is it" Andrew asked I showed him the paper and he swore.

"I want to see" Jesse said and snatched it from me.

"What the hell let me go, I want to go she needs a man" Jesse whined I shook my head

"Nope it clearly says Ash"

"What does it say" Sarah asked curiously looking over my shoulder to see.

"It says come finish what you started and her address" I said still laughing I have to thank Rachel later for this.

"This is so not fair"

"Aw don't worry boys I won't be too hard on you for the next 2 weeks and where is my money" I grinned at them and listened as they complained and handed over the money.
