Chapter 6

( Gabriel POV)

My weekend went fast as usual I didn't do anything except the shopping trip with the girls, waste time and study.

So now it's Monday and as usual I'm sitting in first period with Alex passing me notes, which I'm choosing to ignore because I already read one of them, which suggested that we go somewhere quite, and get to I quote 'know each other better' with a winking smiley face at the end. I swear he creeps me out, I would change my seat, but there isn't anywhere else to sit I could ask Ash to switch with me, but we're both pissed off at each other. I mean who is she to tell me that I should stay away from Declan and that he isn't a good guy, from what I heard she is the one that stole his girlfriend from him and they were best friends what kind of friend does that. Just thinking about it is pissing me off. I look over at Ash who is looking nonchalant I frowned then turned back when the bell rung. I gather my books and head to the door where I see Declan waiting for me smiling.

"Hey Declan, What are you doing here?" I asked smiling

"Well I came to take you to your next class" he said as we began walking.

"Thank you"

"So you ready for the party Friday" he asked

"Yup the girls and I went shopping Friday after school for outfits so I have everything. What about you?" I asked looking up at him as we dodged several students.

"Yeah I have everything I had an outfit in my closet that I haven't worn yet" he said as we stopped in front of my next class

"Well this is my stop thank you again for walking me" I said smiling

"No problem I see you later" he grinned then walked away.

(Ash POV)

I have to say that I had the best weekend ever with Nathan and Jesse as my personal servants. They were at my beck and call whenever I needed them. It was quite fun ordering them around, I had them do everything that I could think of.

I had one washing and massaging my feet while the other fed me grapes with a fan blowing on me, I even had them with bed sheets around their waist like in the Egyptian paintings of the Pharaoh and his servants tending to him (just so you know I was the Pharaoh I even had them make me a crown to wear and a stick to hold) man it was an epic weekend and of course I had my dad take pictures my family seemed to enjoy it as much as I did, well except for Jesse and Nathan of course, but as you know all good things must come to an end which is why I'm sitting in first period bored to death looking at the teacher talk about some nonsense that doesn't have anything to do with our subject.

I'm waiting for the bell to ring. I looked down at Gabriel's desk, which is filled with notes from Alex; I think he should just give up, but who am I to spoil the man's dream. The bell finally rings and I quickly dump my books in my bag I look up ready to leave out the class only to see Declan standing by the door with Gabriel talking. I knew she wasn't going to listen.

" Ash did you tell her about Declan" Aly asked here is the thing Aly knows what happened to Carey, but won't tell me I asked why and she said something about it was personal for Carey I don't know.

"I told if, she doesn't listen then it's her problem" I said walking out the room

"Ash wait you could at least try again" Aly looked at me with a pleading expression

"No" I kept walking with Aly still beside me

"Come on Ash you can't just leave her with him" Aly said frowning at me.

"Isn't your class the other way," I asked trying to distract her.

"It is isn't it ....? Hey don't try and change the subject please try one more time I don't want her to end up like Carey" Aly looked down at the last part I sighed and ran my hands through my hair.

"Fine I'll try again later this week happy now" she smiled at me and hugged me.

"Thank you Ash, I gotta go" she ran down the hall towards her class

(Gabriel POV)

I sat in my class thinking about Ash's warning about Declan, suppose Ash was right about keeping my distance from Declan maybe something happened in the past and he tried to kill someone, I frowned I have a crazy imagination plus Declan wouldn't hurt a fly I mean last week someone stepped on a roach he started freaking out about how the roach didn't do anything to them and that you shouldn't harm harmless creature. It was kind of weird, but cute at same time cause it was so thoughtful and when he turned back to ne he was all red.... Oh well I'll just trust my gut feeling and it's telling me that Declan isn't a bad person. The bell rung and again I grab my bag and head out for lunch gosh the day is going fast I was just in first period not that long ago.

"Gabriel are you pumped for the party Friday" Jenna asked jumping in her seat.

"Jenna you do realize its only Monday right" I told her looking at her confused.

"Oh Gabriel you're so silly Fridays going to come fast next thing you know it's going to be the pep rally then Halloween party and the Christmas party then the new years eve party then the Valentine's day dance then the prom." she said in one breath then opened her mouth again "Then the last party is the end of the school year but don't forget any of the summer parties that people have then you have to factor in birthday parties" she finally finished and took a deep breath.

"Ok Jenna I think we get it now be quite" Samantha said with her hand over Jenna's mouth

"Sorry everything is going so fast Fridays the party then next week is the pep rally it just so exciting" she squealed and clapped her had.

"Oh I forgot about the pep rally," Matt said frowning slightly

"Wait aren't you on the football team" I asked he responded by nodding

"Isn't the rally mostly about the football team"

"Actually no it's mostly about the basketball team our football team isn't that good, but our basketball team is the best sports team we have here" Matt said in a matter of fact tone.

"So what happens at pep rally" I was curious on how things worked around here since I didn't have a clue.

"On Thursday everyone can wear regular clothes and the Basketball team wears their game uniforms, then we go into the gym where we have scrimmages and relay against different grades like juniors vs. seniors and stuff like that there a lot to do and it is quite fun oh and the first basketball game is that night too." Samantha explained to me I nodded my head when she finished it does sound like fun.

(Ash POV)

The gang and I are sitting at the lunch table talking well they're talking; I'm in my own little world I really don't want to approach Gabriel again and I really don't want to talk to Gabriel after last time personally I think if she doesn't want to listen then she'll face the consequences of it.

"Ash are you listening to me" Seth asked waving his hand in my face I look up seeing that he had his bag and mine in his hand.

"What? lunch is over already," I asked looking around, but frowned when I saw that everyone was still here.

"Come on Ash Coach told us to get our uniforms at lunch" He said rolling his eyes as I realized that the couch did tell us yesterday to get them.

"Oh I forgot" I stood up a grabbed my bag from him walking beside him out the cafeteria.

"Ash what up with you" Seth asked as we made our way to the gym

"Nothing why?" I looked at him out the corner of my eyes as he laughed

"Ash you can't say something isn't wrong you've been in your own little world all week the only time you act normal is at practice and even then you seem to be distracted" Seth said accusingly

"I don't know I just have a lot on my mind that's all" I said shrugging it off and walking past him and into the gym.

"Hey I'm not stupid I know it's about a certain someone who you've been glaring at and vice versa" Sean grinned at me while I glared back at him; I found my name and picked up my uniform and sports bag with Sean doing the same.

"Just drop and I have not been glaring at her" I mumble walking out the gym.

"I knew I was right it is about her isn't it" He said excitedly I looked at him strangely and kept walking.

"Shut up I don't want to talk about it" I stopped at my locker and grabbed the rest of my books and stuffed then in my bags.

"Where are you going?" Seth asked as I headed to the entrance I ignore him and kept walking.

"Ash you can't miss practice" he said trying to stop me

"Look I'll be back for practice" I  left I got into my truck and pulled off. I don't know where I was going, but I kept on driving until I found myself in front of an old basketball court where I used to play with my brothers. I turned off my truck and reached into the back seat, grabbed my ball and got out of the car. I took off my schools vest and tie and threw then into the car, and headed to the court and started shooting. I don't know how long I stayed there shooting and dribbling around but when I was finished I was covered in sweat I was sitting down catching my breath when my phone rang.

"Hello" I answered

"Ash it's me Sean do you know what time it is you have twenty minutes to get back for practice" Sean yelled at me I took the phone away from my ear and hung up. I stood up grabbed my ball and headed back to my truck once I was situated I started the truck and headed back to school. I should come back to this place more often and fix it up a bit my mind was blank for the rest of the ride until I reached school I parked the car and took out my practice bag and went into the school just in time for last bell of the day I walked through the hall towards the gym pushing past people who were rushing to get home I was a few feet from the gym when something bumped into me I quickly reached out to catch it, my hands wrapped around someone's waist I looked down to see that it was Gabriel with her eyes closed she opened them and blushed slightly with Declan standing next to her glaring at me which I happily returned back.

"Sorry" she mumbled not looking up I stop glaring at Declan and looked back down at Gabriel who was still in my arms I stood her up straight and let her go.

"No problem, but remember what I said" I looked at her as her blush quickly faded away and turned to anger, but before she said anything I walk away bumping into Declan slightly. See I did as I was asked, I warned her again that should be enough right Aly will be so proud of me. I walked into the locker rooms, changed and went out to practice.

"Ash where were you" Sean asked as me practiced our chest to chest passes.

"Nowhere in particular I was just riding around" I said throwing the ball back at him

"You were riding around for almost three hours" He looked at me as if he didn't believe me

"Yup exactly what I was doing" I threw the ball at him again when the coach blew the whistle to start the dribbling practice.

(Gabriel POV)

The bell just rang signaling the end of the day. Declan and I grabbed our bags and headed out into the overcrowded hallway I don't know why people rush to get out of school it's not like they have somewhere to go.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to go out today" He asked looking down at me

"Sure anyplace you have in mind" I turned my head to look at him which obliviously was a mistake because I bumped into to someone I closed my eyes waiting for the impact when I opened my eyes and realized I was looking into Ash's eye I blushed slightly at how close we were. I saw her glaring at Declan.

"Sorry" I mumbled to her looking down as she straighten me back up and let go.

"No problem, but remember what I told you" She said and walked off before I could argue with her.

"That bastard" I mumbled and looked at Declan who was glaring at the door Ash just went in he turned to me with a frown on his face.

"Is she bothering you if she is I can have a little talk with her" He asked looking concerned

"No no she not bothering me" I shook my head smiling at how sweet he was for being concerned.

"Are you sure?" he asked

"Yup now where are we going?" I asked as we continued to walk to the entrance.

"Well I know this café that has the best croissants' and muffins" he said we walked towards his car and got in. we rode in silence listening to the radio when we stopped in front of a little cafe with tables outside. We got out the car and went in the café was seemed warm and friendly not to mention it smelled delicious. We made our way to the register where an old lady was standing behind it.

"Declan honey I haven't seen you in ages" She smiled warmly a him

"I'm sorry Mrs. H I've been busy but, I brought a friend" he looked at me I smiled

"Hi I'm Gabriel" she looked me up and down

"'My aren't you pretty Declan I think she's a keeper" She said causing me to blush

"Mrs. H it's not like that we are just friends" He said while I nodded my head in agreement.

"Well you better hurry up and make it official before she runs off to someone else well go sit down I'll bring both of you something out" I blushed again when she winked at us. We made our way to the table by the window and sat down.

"I'm sorry about that she always like that" he apologized embarrassed

"It's ok she a nice lady" I told him he smiled at me

"So let's get to know each other I've known you for a week and a day and I still barely know anything about you" he said

"Ok ask away"

"First what made you move down here?"

"My parents job next question"

"Favorite color"

"I guess it would be blue"

"Favorite thing to do"

"Umm I really don't know I like to do everything"

"Ok I can take that answer next would you consider this a date" He asked my eyes widen I didn't know what to say.

"I'm sorry you don't have to answer the question if you don't want to" He said quickly turning red.

"No I guess I would consider this a date" I smiled I think he a wonderful guy I don't know what Ash was talking about he's sweet, he puts other before himself and he's a gentleman unlike someone in particular. Our food came I looked at it, croissants' a blueberry muffin and a cup of white hot chocolate.

"This smells delicious and it's still warm" I said with my mouth watering from the smell

"Yup that's why I love this place the food is always fresh and of course the white hot chocolate is the best now dig in" Declan said shoving the muffin in his mouth I laughed and followed his lead.

I had fun with Declan I truly believe he is a great guy we were at the café for an hour joking around and getting to know each other. I found out numerous things about him like he hates spaghetti because it looks like worms and how his older sister used to dress him up as a princess when he was younger. We pulled in front of my house

"Thanks for the ride and for taking me out I had a great time" I said as I turned to him

"Well I'm glad you had fun" He smiled I leaned over and kissed his cheek before getting out the car and waving as he pulled off. I went into the house took a shower before I went to bed. I think I'm beginning to like Declan and I drifted off to sleep.
