Chapter 8

(Gabriel POV)

I snuggled into something warm, I took in a deep breath Hm'm smells good. I snuggled into it more. I felt someone wrapped his or her arms around me pulling me closer. Wait a minute. Flashbacks of the two guys came back to me. I screamed and kicked whoever it was out the bed earning a yelp as they fell with a thump.

"What the hell" I heard the familiar voice of Ash. I quickly crawled to the edge of the bed peering over. Ash sat up and rubbed her head. I examined her face, her lower lip was cut and swollen and her right eye was purple and blotchy. This is my fault.

"I'm so sorry!" I said frantically as she got up and sat back on the bed.

"It's no problem" She mumbled we sat in silence for a few seconds until I started speaking

"I'm sorry Ash," I mumbled to her she looked at me confused

"You already said sorry" She looked at me not understanding

" No I mean I'm sorry about everything, I should have listened to you" I told her, with tears flowing down my face. I thought of the two guys touching me I felt so dirty. She looked at me with wide eyes and got on her knees in front of me.

"It's not your fault if anything I should have tried harder" she said wiping my tears with her thumb. I looked at her with tears still coming down my face. I put my face in my hand.

"But look at you, you have a black eye and a busted lip" she pulled my hands away from my face and gave me a soft smile.

"I don't mind the bruises, it'll only attract more female attention you know they like the bad guy persona" She said jokingly smiling widely at me, but winced slightly. I reached up and touched her lip lightly causing her to flinch back I immediately felt bad again and my eyes started to water again.

"I guess this is the part where you tell me I told you so? You should have just left me there after everything I said to you" I asked as a single tear fell from my eye Ash frowned at me.

"No I'm not that cruel to say something like that especially after what happen and no matter what anybody says to me I would never let someone go through something like that. Not if I can prevent it from happening" She wiped my tear again and smiled .

"Come on I know you are hungry" she stood up and grabbed my hand pulling me off the bed. She led me to her bathroom where she handed me a new toothbrush and wash cloth. I looked at myself, my hair was a mess and my makeup was running, I even had a slight bruise on my cheek. I looked like something out of a horror film. I glanced over at Ash who was standing beside me brushing her teeth. I copied her when we were finished I washed my face off.

"Ash do you have a comb or brush I can use?" I ask stepping out of the bathroom she nodded and threw me a brush I went back into the bathroom and quickly brushed all the knots out of my hair. I came back into the room where Ash was waiting for me. She looked up and smiled.

"You have everything straight now?" She asked standing up going toward the door.

"Yes I think so" I said looking down at what I was wearing which consisted of Ash's  shirt from last night and a pair of boxer.

"Come on then" we walked out into the hall.

(ASH POV)

I woke up to a rather rude awakening today I was peacefully sleeping when I was suddenly pushed of the bed I silently cursed.

"What the hell!" I rubbed my head I looked up to see Gabriel looking at me with wide eye.

" I'm so sorry" She said frantically

" It's no problem" I got off the floor and sat down on the bed next to her, we sat in silence for a while until she decided to speak.

"I'm sorry Ash," She mumbled to me I turned towards her confused

"You already said you were sorry" not comprehending what she was saying.

"No I mean I'm sorry about everything I should have listened to you" she said tears started to come down her face. I kneeled down in front of her.

"It's not your fault if anything I should have tried harder" I explained wiping her tears away. She put her hands in her face.

"But look at you, you have a black eye and a busted lip" I pulled her hands away from her face. If that's what she worried about then she shouldn't be. I smiled softly.

"I don't mind the bruises, it'll only attract more female attention you know they like the bad guy persona" I said jokily smiling widely but winced when I felt my lip throb, she reached up and softly touched my lip I winced again she looked like she was about to cry again

"I guess this is the part where you tell me I told you so you should have just left me there after everything I said to you" she said as a single tear ran down her face I frowned at her.

"No I'm not that cruel to say something like that after what happen and no matter what anybody says to me I would never let someone go through something like that." I told her still frowning as I wiped her tear again ignoring the fact that she had make-up running down her face and smiled at her making sure I didn't wince in pain.

"Come on I know you're hungry" I told her as I stood up and took her hand leading her into the bathroom. I gave her a toothbrush new of course and a wash cloth. I brushed my teeth and washed my face when I was finished I left Gabriel in the bathroom and went to sit on the bed.

I'm happy Gabriel's alright I don't know what I would have done if I came in there another second later, I have to call Aly and ask her what happened to Carey. I was pulled out of my thoughts as Gabriel came into the room asking for a brush or comb. I reached over and grabbed my brush and tossed it her, she thanked me and went back in the bathroom. A couple of more minutes passed and she came back looking refreshed.

"You have everything straight now?" I asked smiling at her and walking toward the door

"Yea I think so" She said looking down at her clothes well my clothes which I have to say looked great on her even though they were too big for her.

"Come on then" I led her into the hallway, she looked at everything with wide eyes I had to suppress my laughs.

"Um Ash what happened to my dress?" She asked looking at me. I scratched my head and grinned.

"Well it's in my room I couldn't figure out how to put it back on so I took it off and put my clothes on you and took you back here" I looked down seeing a blush appear.

" So you saw everything" She asked still blushing I shrugged.

"Well seeing as though we are both girls I figured you wouldn't mind" I paused as she turned redder than before I laughed she glared at me.

"It's not funny" She huffed

"I'm just playing I wasn't focused on your body so I didn't look" I said still laughing as we made our way down the stairs to the kitchen. Once we reached the kitchen I went into the fridge and pulled out eggs, bacon, cheese and ham.

"You like omelets?" I asked turning my head slightly

"Yes do you need help you don't have to cook me anything" She said coming to stand next to me.

"You can get the bacon started and I don't mind cooking," I said cracking eggs into a bowl as she grabbed a pan for the bacon.

We had just finished cooking when we heard footsteps and conversations coming from the stairs. Great I was hoping they would sleep in today like they usually did.

"Sis are you cooking breakfast for us" I heard Nathan say I sighed and then groaned when I turned around to see the whole freaking family down stairs staring at Gabriel who was turning red and playing with the hem of her shirt (well my shirt) looking down. I looked at Jesse and Nathan who both were eyeing like some piece of meat and Jessica who had her face scrunched up. I glared at them.

"Guys this is Gabriel" I said looking at them as they turned their attention to me, well all of them except Nathan and Jesse who were still eyeing her.

"Gabriel this is my sister Jessica my brothers Mitchell, Jesse, Nathan, and Andrew and that's Mitchell Fiancé" I told her pointing to each of them as I went.

"Hi it's nice to meet you" Gabriel said with a tinge of pink coming to her cheeks.

( Gabriel POV)

It's kind of embarrassing that Ash has seen me practically naked, even though she said she didn't look it's still is embarrassing not that I'm not confident about my body or anything it just well embarrassing. It was even more embarrassing when her entire family came downstairs, I'm sure my face is still red.

I watched as the one Ash said was Nathan approached me undressing me with his eyes, I looked over to Ash to see her glaring at him, but he still came over to me and grabbed my hand I flinched at the sudden touch.

"Hey do you want to see my room," He asked winking suggestively I blushed and pulled away, as Ash slapped him on his head.

"Fucking idiot" I heard her mumble she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the island where everyone was sitting.

"So are you two dating," I think it was Mitchell who asked

"No" Ash and I said at the same time I blushed as Mitchell smirked at me.

"Well if that the case. Why don't you come sit on my lap and we can talk about the first thing that pops up" Jesse waggled his eyebrows winking at me I looked at him with wide eyes.

"Alright Nathan and Jesse stop harassing her and Gabriel eat your food" Ash said scowling at Nathan and Jesse I looked down to see a plate of food that I didn't realize was there. I ate as Ash sat down beside me.

(ASH POV)

I can't believe Jesse just said that to her I sat next to Gabriel munching on my food.

"So how do you know each other?" Sarah asked looking between us

"School" Gabriel answered

"What happened to your face?" I felt Gabriel stiffen beside me

"I got into a little altercation last night nothing bad you should see the other guy," I said jokingly not wanting to get into details.

"So you guys are friends?" Nathan asked I didn't know how to answer that question and neither did Gabriel we both looked at each blinking. Gabriel blushed then looked away at her now empty plate well isn't this awkward. Best way to avoid questions is to leave so I grabbed both of our plates and put them in the sink.

"Well I'm going to get ready to go to the barber and drop Gabriel off" I grabbed Gabriel's hand pulling her out the kitchen and to my room. Gabriel sat on my bed fiddling with her fingers. I sighed and walked to my dresser grabbing my basketball shorts and a black under amour spandex shirt. I also grabbed Gabriel a pair of sweatpants.

"I'm going to get changed you can change into this" I handed her the sweats and went into the bathroom changing quickly. I came back out and put on my shoes. I looked at Gabriel to see that she had put on the pants, but was still barefoot.

"Um I'm sorry I don't have any shoes for you" I told her she nodded

"It's ok I can go barefoot" I looked at her and shook my head

"No you can't" I went through my dresser grabbed a pair of socks then rummaged through my closet until I found my Adidas Adissage Slide, slip on shoe.

"Here they're a little big, but it's better than nothing" I handed the socks and shoes to her she slipped them on and we left.

"Guys I'll be back in a few" I told them grabbing my keys off the kitchen counter

"It was nice meeting you all" I heard Gabriel say.

"It was nice meeting you too, come by anytime" Sarah said to her hugging her I watched Nathan go up to her I groaned well time to go. I grabbed Gabriel and pulled her out the house and to the car before Nathan or Jesse could do anything.

We were on the road heading to her house in an awkward silence.

"Ash" Gabriel spoke softly I glanced over at her then looked back at the road making a turn in her neighborhood.

"Yeah"

"Do you think we could start over as friends" she mumbled I smiled

"Yeah I would like that," I pulled into her drive way and turned to her.

"Thank you" She said grinning at me

"Well since we are starting over I'm Ash I'm seventeen, on the basketball team, and of course the ladies  love me" I smirked as rolled her eyes.

"I'm Gabriel I'm seventeen, I just moved here from Florida" She stuck out her hand and I shook it.

"Well it was nice meeting you" I grinned at her and unlocked the doors.

"You too" she got out the car laughing

"So I'll see you Monday?" I asked she nodded

"Oh Ash thanks for everything I really appreciate everything you did for me last night and today. I'll have your clothes back to you Monday"

"Like I said before it was no problem I can't resist helping a damsel in distress and you can keep the clothes, but I'm going to need my shoes back" I told her after all they're my favorite pair of slip on.

"Ok thanks again Ash" she closed the door and walked up her pathway. I waited till she was in the house to pull off. Now to the barber

(Gabriel POV)

We had just escaped Ash's brothers from hitting on me again. I sighed in relief when we were out the door and in the car. It was silent most of the ride. but I didn't mind because it gave me time to think about the question that her family asked about us being friends. I didn't know how to respond then and I still don't I want us to be friends, but then it would seem like I'm only doing it because of what happened but I still want to be friends with her or at least associates.

Ash" I spoke softly to her fiddling with my fingers

"Yeah"

"Do you think we could start over as friends" I mumbled

"Yes I would like that" We pulled into my driveway and she turned to me

"Thank you" I said grinning at her thanking the gods that we could resolve this issue.

"Well since we are starting over I'm Ash I'm seventeen on the basketball team, and of course the ladies love me" she smirked at me as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm Gabriel I'm seventeen, I just moved here from Florida " She stuck out her hand and I shook it going along with her.

"Well it was nice meeting you" She grinned and unlocked the doors.

"You too" I got out the car laughing

"So I'll see you Monday" she asked I nodded

"Oh Ash thanks for everything I really appreciate everything you did for me last night and today. I'll have your clothes back to you Monday" I was grateful that she loaned me some clothes I wouldn't have wanted to go home in that dress.

"Like I said before it was no problem I can't resist helping a damsel in distress and you can keep the clothes but I'm going to need my shoes back" she told her

"Ok thanks again Ash" I said as I closed the door and walked up my pathway. I opened my door and went straight to my room. Thankfully my parents were coming back tomorrow instead of today.
