The Pucking Wrong Date: SECOND EPILOGUE
The Pucking Wrong Date: A Hockey Romance (The Pucking Wrong Series Book 3)
Camden: Iâm here with the chicken tenders Olivia wanted.
Me: You really are a hero, Hero. Iâll be out in a second.
Igot out of my seat and stretched, a smile automatically hitting my lips as I stared at Olivia and our baby girl sleeping in the hospital bed in front of me.
Oliviaâs eyes flew open like sheâd felt me watching her.
âHi,â she murmured tiredly, a rockstar if there ever was one. Seeing her be a momâ¦well, letâs say I was rethinking the ban on more children Iâd instigated while I watched her during labor.
âCamdenâs here with the chicken tenders you wanted. Iâm going to go out and grab it.â
âCainâs chicken tenders?â she whispered excitedly, her eyes lighting up like Iâd just promised her diamonds.
âYes, Cainâs chicken tenders,â I told her, hoping Camden had listened to that part of my directive.
Twenty points off his circle of trust application if he didnât.
I brushed a kiss against Oliviaâs forehead, taking one more second to take them in as she started to softly sing to Isabella.
It was all I could do to force myself to leave the room.
Hopefully with the cameras I had in all corners of the roomâ¦and Elaineâs presence by the doorâ¦I could make it down to the lobby and keep at least some of my sanity.
Iâd given up on keeping it all.
Olivia + Isabella meant I was basically a psychopath 24/7.
Camden was sitting in a chair in the corner, staring at something on his phone when I got to the lobby. I was a little surprised that the guy wasnât at the front desk, flirting with reception, or helping organize medical suppliesâwith him it could usually go either way.
âPlease tell me thatâs Cainâs chicken you have in that bag,â I drawled, staring at the cooler bag on the seat next to him.
âWouldnât dream of messing up Oliviaâs order,â he grinned, unzipping it and showing off a tray of chicken tenders, fries, and Cainâs sauce.
âTen points to Camden,â I said dramatically, and he huffed.
âAt this point, it feels like the three of you are actually secret Harry Potter nerds and this is your way of role playing it undercover.â
âWhat are you talking about?â I asked, lifting an eyebrow.
âYou knowââ he said, gesturing around wildly with his hands like I was supposed to understand that. âLike how they say âTen points to Gryffindorâ¦Itâs like that.â
âI have no idea what youâre talking about, Camden. But Iâll be sure to tell the boys how much of a big nerd you are.â
He scoffed and scowled at me, checking his phone again for the fifth time in the conversation. His scowl grew and he handed me the cooler bag. âI gotta run, but let me know if you need anything else. I can bring you guys whatever.â
What a good dude.
âWhat do you have planned for the rest of the day?â I asked, as he began to briskly walk awayâ¦kind of like his ass was on fire.
âIâve got the love of my life locked in my room at the moment,â he grinned, glancing back at me with a wink. âCanât leave her alone for long, sheâs kind of grumpy.â
You know, I wasnât really sure if he was jokingâ¦
I watched in shockâ¦and a little aweâ¦as he strode through the hospital with a parting wave.
I immediately pulled out my phone to text Ari and Lincoln as I turned to get back to my girls.
Me: How do we feel about kidnapping when it comes to entry into the Circle of Trust?
King Linc:?
Me: â¦
King Linc:â¦
Ari: The answer is obviously fuck yes.
Me: Good. I guess Camdenâs in.
