Meetings
The Alpha Academy [Lost Mates Book 1]
>>Mael
The rest of the week passed by rather quietly and almost every single person was ready to dash home. I would bet my life on the fact that all these frustrated Alphas just wanted to have sex.
The Academy didn't allow it, rather it was very strict with these matters so all the werewolves were losing their minds. Not me of course, it's the hardest for Alpha males.
As Friday came and everyone rushed home, I took my basic stuff and prepared to leave. But before going home, I wanted to meet someone.
Laina
The only friend I have here.
Since she started college, I can meet her between classes. I had called her ahead of time to tell her I was coming and we decided to meet at a cafe.
***
"Mael~" Laina came running towards me and I hugged her when she jumped into my arms outside the cafe, "I missed you!"
She hugged me tight, "Me too!" She felt warm.
"How's the Alpha academy?" She didn't break the hug as she asked me the question.
"As bad as I thought it would be." I laughed awkwardly, "But it's bearable." I felt my emotions relax as our bodies joined.
She finally broke the hug and grabbed my hand, "Let's go in!"
I didn't realize it before,I had no idea up until this point how tense I actually was, but I felt myself relax a little now that I was away from all the Alphas and the tense environment.
We went inside and ordered lunch as we chatted.
"So, do you think you can hook me up with any Alpha?" She asked the question jokingly.
I laughed, "If I wasn't an outcast," I shrugged, "Maybe,"
"I wouldn't really need anyone else if you chose me." She grinned.
Her words sent a guilt pang in my heart, "Your family hates me." I laughed nervously.
"Yours hate me too." She frowned, "We should run away someday."
"Should we?" I humored her as the waiter came and served us our order.
"For sure!" She showed her fighting spirit which only made my chest tighten.
I'm very fond of Laina, she's my only friend and she's super cute too but at times I feel guilty that I'm lying to her.
She expects things on her own, unknowingly, which burdens me. Like how she admires me, I can tell if I ever give her a serious hint about being her mate she would go all in, she would even run away from her home for me but I can't. I'm not even a man, much less an Alpha...
I'm just a fake but that's the only reason she likes me. Because we're both outcasts.
Maybe someday, I can tell her.
I picked up my drink and took a sip.
Maybe...

I was hanging out with a bunch of friends before going home. I wanted to let off some steam before the family visit since the academy has strict rules and no matter what I can't get expelled.
"Look at that?" The girls I was hanging out with pointed at a cafe, "They look like a couple." I turned to look at the people they were pointing at. Mael and his omega bitch.
They laughed, "That's what you call a perfect pair. An abnormal and a recessive." They all got a kick out of it.
A recessive omega or a recessive Alpha are considered a disgrace. They're considered abnormal because they're different than everybody else.
"You know," Naima was with me too, the only person from the academy who accompanied me, "Just looking at them makes you want to bully them." Even Killian didn't join me.
"Right ~"
I silently watched. I didn't say anything.
But no doubt, it did get on my nerves.
"Should we do something?" One of the guys said.
"Definitely!"
It ticked me off.
I pointed at the recessive omega, "I don't care what you all do with that thing." My eyes glowed a little as I glared at them since I was getting a little angry, "But nobody touches my prey."

"How was your first week?" Dad asked as we both sat in his study after dark.
"It was alright." I awkwardly fiddled with the books on the wall shelves while he sat on the sofa drinking his late night chamomile tea.
"I heard Owen is teaching you." I glanced back at him.
"You know him?"
He snickered, "Not on a personal level, but I've heard he has extreme ways of teaching his students."
I rolled my eyes, "No doubt there." I was reminded of what he made us go through.
"Well son," He looked at me, "I have high expectations of you."
I nodded, "Yes..." I chewed my inner lips, "Dad?" I took my fingers off the books and turned my body to face him. I wanted to ask him something.
"Yes?" He finished his tea and looked at me after placing the cup on the glass table in front of him.
I gulped, "I want to see Amara..." It was permission to go and see my family since it had been a while since I last saw them.
"Go ahead." He gave me an immediate answer.
"And mom too..."
He paused to think about it, "..." Before he could give me an answer, mother stormed in the room.
"What did you say?" She was furious and my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach the moment I saw her.
"Calm down Rachel." Dad stood up too but mother was faster, she stormed to me who was too afraid to move from her place and then she grabbed my hair.
"He's still got the guts to ask and go see that bitch?!" She glared at her husband, "Why haven't you killed her yet." Her eyes were turning red with anger.
"Because we're not murderers." Dad answered, "Let Mael go,"
"You won't be doing it yourself." Mother yanked my head back as her claws started digging into my head. The pain started seeping in and my heart started pounding in fear.
"Mother," I whimpered, "I won't go to see her." I begged her, "I won't." I clasped my hands in front of her as I begged, "Please! Please don't hurt her."
I was in pain, an immense amount of it, but there was no amount of physical pain that could come to par with seeing my real mom get hurt.
Step-mother glared at me. It was as if my words had made her more angry.
"Rachel!" Dad started storming towards us when he saw blood trickle down from my head to the back of my neck, "Let him go!"
When she saw that, she roughly let me go but before dad could come and subdue her, she took the chance to hit me.
Slap!
She hit me across the face. The attack resonated so bad I fell face flat on the floor
"How dare you even mention that bitch!" She screamed at me.
"Rachel!" Dad finally grabbed her, "That's our son!"
I slowly sat up as the pain in my cheek only rose. This was harder than last time. It hurt like hell. I feel like my flesh is burning.
"That's right." She looked at him with wide eyes, "He's 'our' son." She looked at me, "Right?"
The moment she looked at me I flinched violently, then nodded my head vigorously, "Yes," I couldn't meet her eyes, "I'm yours." It came out as a whisper because of how scared I got. There was too much malice seeping from Rachel. The amount of blood lust she was excreating was sending shivers down my spine.
She looked back at her husband, "Kill her." My heart trembled at her words because I knew she was capable of actually killing my biological mother.
Dad held her shoulders and sighed, then he glanced back at me and I shook my head at him. Tears were forming in my wide open eyes as I begged him with my actions.
I clasped my hands and rubbed them in front of him as I begged and shook my head at him violently.
Please! No!
Please, please, please, please! No!
"Alright." He answered to his wife and I froze. He began to take her out of the room as I felt my reality collapse in front of me, "Let's get you something cold first to calm you down."
My mind went completely blank at his words.
What?
They walked towards the door and my gaze followed them as a tear slipped down my cheek.
No! I shook my head.
You can't do this to me! "Don't..." I let out a feeble voice but couldn't get the whole sentence out.
Don't take my mom from me!
Please...
A few more tears slipped down my cheeks as I stared at the couple with wide eyes.
How could you...? How can you do something so cruel?
Just before exiting the room dad glanced back at me and nodded.
!!!
As he exited he slowly waved his hand at me.
Oh...
I calmed down a little as I was reassured that mom wasn't going to be harmed.
I slumped back down on the floor as all of my energy left me.
As the tension of fear evaporated, the physical pain began to seep in once again.
