"hell no"

I looked just like everyone else not sure of why something was going wrong, it was supposed to be a good day. The best day of my life.

I nearly gasped when I saw Theo standing in the door way of the barn, his face was bloody and bruised and a bottle was handing from his fingertips. I knew he was drunk and I was concerned of what happened to him. Me and Theo never got along well but he was Alex's best friend and he cared so much about him.

Everyone was quiet as eh made his way down the ail towards me Alex and I, he tripped over his feet stumbling into some of the guests. He nearly fell into his father who helped him stand up straight.

"Hi your remind me of some  one" he was so drunk he didn't even recognize his own father who looked up at him a clear worried expression on his face. But Theo continued slowly down towards us stopping when Alex was the first person to speak.

"Theo?" I noticed that he released my hands making his way to his friend, Theo smiled seeing him clearly knowing who he was.

"Hey" hiccup "buddy" Theo said dropping the bottle on the floor that broke making a mess but he didn't care as he wrapped his arms around Alex's neck.

The moment Theo touched Alex he went limp making Alex struggle to keep him from falling onto the floor. He looked back at me ad I knew he was asking for help.

"Sorry everyone well be right back" I said lifting my dress making my way over t the them to help.

I helped Alex carry Theo the best I could to our suite which was the traditionally place they would mate after the wedding. It was one of Alex traditions and I wasn't so keen on doing it. But now the bed I was to spend my night with my husband on was occupied by his drunk friend and i suddenly was agitated .

"This is a nice place you got here " Theo said as he looked around as Alex got him on the white sheeted mattress.

"are you drunk ?" he asked checking the cuts on his face but Theo pushed them away replying simply.

"No I'm Theo "

"I'll take that as a yes " Alex said ignoring his friend as Theo fumbled with the bow tie Alex wore around his neck and Alex pushed his hands away as he looked back at me.

"Marry Ann I so sorry about he's-" he said starting apologizing, I wasn't a fan of Theo but Alex care about him more than anyone.

"It's okay I know he means a lot to you and you did say he is crazy" I said standing up straight and he smiled at me glad I understood.

"Alpha" Theo cries lifting his arms to Alex's shoulders. I would record a video of this but who knew what the idiot would say.

"What now ?" Alex demanded his voice sounding annoyed.

"I can't let you get married "he said clutching his suit his voice in a whisper as if he was telling a secret.

"What?" Alex no longer looked annoyed with him more curious of why he said what he did.

"You can't. . .  you need someone who knows you"

"Someone who knows you only eat your waffles with peanut butter " he said making Alex smile, as he leaves his side and  moves to take off Theos dirty boots.

"Who knows you hate using a sheet on your bed, I mean who does that" Theo laughs while Alex goes back and sits beside his laying body.

"Someone who knows your eye twitches when your angry, who knows you spend hours in the bath room trying to fix your hair that never goes the way you want"

I watched them, and I realized I didn't know that about Alex, but I also wasn't his best friend.

"Someone who knows you for you. I can't let you marry" Theos voice was getting softer and his eyes droopy.

"Theo your tired and drunk you need to rest "Alex gets up but Theo grabs his shoulders in attempt to stop him, but Theo quickly becomes tried and falls back on the bed asleep. Alex sighs grabbing a blanket and puts it on him and stops. I couldn't move as I watched, Alex runs his hands through his friend's hair looking at him like he was the stars above. I knew that look better than anyone. I know love looks like and it's hard to hide I already knew what they were.

They were mates.

"He's out for now you ready ?" Alex stepped away and walked over to me, he took my left hand that held the ring he place and lead me out of the suit and towards the direction of the ceremony.  All I felt was guilt, I knew what mates meant to a person and I imagined the pain he must be feeling.

"I can't" stopping us pulling  hands from his, he looked back at me confused,

"What's wrong " his left hand was empty, and I knew who's ring should be placed on it and it wasn't mine.

"I can't do this not when you have a mate " the horror that crossed his face was so visible and I felt bad that he thought he had to hide it.

"No I don't "

"I saw how you look at him, you may have everyone else fooled  but not me " I said grabbing his hand tenderly, his eyebrow made a frown on his face as he looked t me.

"Mary " Alex didn't have to say I'm sorry for me to know he was.

"It's okay " I said trying to ease his thoughts

"I don't know what to do, I can't have any heirs of I choose him. But I want so bad to choose him. I don't know what to do mar." and he was back, he was a caring guy who didn't mind saying what he felt and the moments he'd let me in made me so happy. I understand what he's going through more than he knows, and I think I can tell him now.

"Jenny"

"What?" looking at him lowing his hands.

"That was my mates name " I told him, I could see her so perfectly, she was one of the hunters in our pact and she was scared with being with the alpha's daughter but after we spent so much time together she couldn't stay away. Okay I couldn't. But then she died and I lost her.

"It was a girl ?" he asked surprised.

"Ya and she's was amazing. I didn't get my chance to be with her and I'm telling you don't give that chance up. You'll regret it. " I explain to him, he deserves this, he is so selfless he needs to have something he wants.

"What about the alliance?" still thinking of others, I nearly laughed.

"I think I can work something out, go to him I'll tell everyone it's canceled." I already thought it through because I don't want to leave I like having him as a friend.

"I don't want you to go in their alone "

Don't worry I'm a big girl, if I can't beat you I can take anyone" he laughs at the joke I made before smiling

"Thank you" he kisses my cheek before running back to the suite.

Even though I lost my mate i wanted more than anything was for him to be with his, and I kind a felt a moment of relief. I don't know if I could have married him, maybe out of duty but not love. I had one love and I still feel her

in my heart.
