Chapter 134 - Yao Ran’s Manipulative Behavior
The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home
They werenât sure if they could handle another round of slander.
Most of all, they didnât know if they could bear to see Yao Ranbeing painted as the oppressed heroine whileYao Tangwas the cruel villainess.
At that same moment, Yao Tangsat quietly in her seat with her strawberry milk tea, oblivious to everything that was happening around her.
Her eyes were glued to her phone, her thumb slowly scrolling down her screen. Her inbox was almost full.
?
The friends proceeded to sit back and continue eating while pretending Yao Randidnât exist. Although the atmosphere was awkward, they somehow managed to pull through their meal without further events.
Qin Jing wiped her mouth and packed up her lunch box.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Yao Ran quickly followed suit, her eyes constantly darting in the other girlâs direction.
It was clear that she wasnât going to relent until Qin Jinggave her the time of the day.
Meng Yang let out a long breath, his brows furrowed in discomfort.
How could he not have realized before just how shameless and thick-skinned Yao Ranwas? She never gave up until she got what she wanted.
Fortunately, Qin Jinghad a light temperament. After putting her things away, she turned toYao Tangwith a blank expression.
âIâm not going to let you disturb Sister Tangâs lunch. Letâs go downstairs and talk.â
She had dealt with people like Yao Ranenough times to know how to handle this situation. That didnât mean that she was any less irritated.
Seeing that Yao Ranhad succeeded in trickingQin Jing, Meng Yangturned away and snorted in disgust.
âThat bratty princess has lost a point in my book.â
But that didnât matter, since he was sticking to his Sister Tangâs side no matter what. People could badmouth her all they want, and he would believe a word they said.
Yao Ran brightened up after hearingQin Jingâs response. âGreat! Iâm really glad.â
She happily gathered her stuff and led the way out of the cafeteria.
The two girls stopped in the middle of the hall downstairs.
Yao Ran glanced atQin Jingthrough her lashes, looking shy and demure as she handed her the cup of fruit tea she had been carrying all this time. âHere, Qin Jing. Itâs peach-flavored oolong tea. I asked your former classmates, and they told me that this is your favorite.â/
The cup was still somewhat cool to the touch, despite having been bought a while back.
It was rather tempting, especially in this scorching heat, but Qin Jing held herself back. She could always buy one for herself any time, anyway. She looked away and pocketed her hands without saying anything. But Yao Ranwas unfazed. She continued smiling and acted as if she hadnât just been blown off.
âI guess you donât like it. Thatâs okay, next time Iâll get you something that I like.â
Qin Jing did not acknowledge her.
Yao Ran pressed her lips tightly together and put the fruit tea away.
âQin Jing, I want to tell you that I really want us to be classmates. It doesnât matter what you think of me, you are always welcome to join our class!â
Her tone was eager and full of what sounded like sincerity. There was expectation there, too.
âNo way,â Qin Jingsnapped. âIâm never going to transfer to your class, so will you stop badgering me already?â
She had had enough of Yao Ranâs shameless pestering
Qin Jing hadnât come toNo. 1 High Schoolto better her studies or anything like that, she was here solely forYao Tang.
If she had wanted better-quality education, she would have totally gone to the more prestigious institutions in the capital.
âWonât you at least consider it?â
Yao Ran had a pleading look on her face.
To an unsuspecting passerby, it would look like Qin Jingwas bullying the sweet and fragileYao Ran.
âI really, really want you to be my classmate,â she insisted. âOur Yao familyalso wants to be better acquainted with the Qin family, so we should do our part and be friends, right? Even if itâs only for the sake of your family.â
Qin Jing openly sneered at the other girl.
The Qin family had their own network all over the country, more so in the capital. Whereas, the Yao familyonly held influence inCity A, if one could even call it that. In the grand scheme of things, the Qin family couldnât be bothered to make an alliance with the Yao family. It wouldnât affect their lives or their business either way.
Which made it all the more ridiculous for Yao Ranto be holding this so-called relationship overQin Jingâs head.
âHa! Did you honestly think my Qin family has any need to establish a connection with the Yao family?â
âYouâre still young, so you may not understand yet,â Yao Ransaid in a slightly condescending tone. âIn the world of business, it is always better to make friends rather than enemies.â
Qin Jing smirked in amazement. âThis girl is really tenacious. No matter what I say, it just bounces right off her.â
âStop patronizing me,â Qin Jing retorted. âLet me ask you this, the other day when you came to our house with your father, were you or were you not intending to secure the possibility of marriage with my brother?â
She might as well nip it in the bud and put Yao Ranin her place once and for all.
To think that she had tried to advance her own selfish motives under the guise of supporting her familyâs interests⦠Qin Jingloathed such manipulative behavior.
