Chapter 267 - Let’s Compete!
The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home
âWho says you were the one who got here first?â The girl from Class One snapped back. âWe just arrived here at the same time.â
âBut the tennis court was donated by a classmate of ours from Class 20. What do you think about that?â Yao Tang raised her eyebrow, staring all of them down. âShould we not be allowed to use it?â
Suddenly, everyone felt a bit queasy. Their voices caught up in their throat as they shared looks, shuffling on their feet.
Yao Ran flushed in embarrassment.
However, she wasnât going to back down that easily. âQin Jing, you want to use this court. We also want to use it,â she stated, walking toward them. âAlthough this court has been donated by your classmate, it didnât state that only students of Class 20 are allowed to use it, right?â
âThe court can naturally be used by everyone.â Qin Jing shrugged.
âWell, we also want to use the court. Why should we give it up?â
âArenât you a student of No. 1 High School?â Yao Tang finally spoke up, rolling her eyes. âIsnât it a rule that relatives of those who have donated the property have priority to use or at least hand over said priority to whomever they deem fit?â
âFine, you may have priority, but why canât we use it together?â Yao Ran took a deep breath, feeling her own chest about to combust. âWhy canât we practice together?â
Just then, a thought crossed her mind. âHow about we have a match? Whoever wins can stay and play.â
âWeâre the ones who donated. Why should we compete with you?â Qin Jing barked out a laugh.
âYouââ
âBut,â she interrupted with a smile, glancing at her racket. âWe can do that too.â
Yao Ran couldnât help but frown.
From what she had heard, Qin Jingâs previous high school didnât have a tennis court. That meant that she didnât have the chance to practice on her own. Yao Tang was nothing but a country bumpkin. She didnât know how to play tennis!
So how could she be this confident?
âSince itâs a competition, it canât be just the two of us. Why not make it a double match?âYao Ran stated. âLet Yao Tang join us.â
She smirked.
Even if Yao Tang were to learn tennis during her stay here, she wouldnât be that good.
Hearing this sentence, Lin Xin glanced worriedly at Yao Tang. Qin Jingalso widened her eyes, looking at her friend. âSister Tang,â she said lowly. âDo you know how to play tennis?â
Yao Tang looked up from her phone. âI should know how to.â
âShould?â Her eyebrows furrowed. âWhat do you mean by âshouldâ?ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Seeing Qin Jingâs face change, Yao Ran grew even more confident with her suggestion. She suppressed a gasp, blinking. âIâm so sorry, I forgot that Yao Tangdidnât know how to play!â
Students from Class One immediately burst into laughter.
âYou donât know how to play tennis, and you want to compete with us?â
âWe shouldâve just let them have it. I mean, itâs probably Yao Tangâs first time seeing a tennis court. Do tennis courts even exist in the countryside?â
âIf you donât know how to play, why fight for the court?â The other scoffed. âThe court will be wasted for people like you.â
Everyone from Class One gazed at Yao Tang in complete disbelief. Why would a girl who hadnât even touched or seen a tennis ball want to play? Could she not be any more selfish?
The class disparity between Yao Tang and the other students of Class 20 was huge. Not only didnât they believe she had ever played, but they also assumed that she didnât have the time to learn.
As soon as Qin Jing heard their mocking words, she scowled. âPlease, as if you guys are experts. Do you think that just because youâre richer, that means that youâre better than her? How ridiculous!â
Qin Jing narrowed her eyes. âIf you want to compete, then do it with me. Why are you ganging up on her?â
âPlease, youâre just scared youâd lose with that country bumpkin on your team.â The girl from Yao Ranâs end scoffed.
âYouâre the one whoâs going to lose!â Lin Xin was so angry that she was just about to step forward when Yao Tangpulled her back.
Blocking her friend, Yao Tang raised her head calmly. âLetâs compete.â
