Chapter 68 - Compensation

After a few minutes, Yao Tang’s phone lit up once more. This time, the caller was Yao Yuan.

She didn’t even bother looking at her screen as she clicked the “reject” button. Immediately, her gaze shifted back to the game where one of her subordinates had managed to win the championship.

As soon as the round had ended, she shifted into a more comfortable position. She blinked. There was a sense of arrogance in her movements. However, this came as no surprise to everyone in the room.

Just then, another hand appeared beneath her, holding a glass of water. Yao Tang gazed up to meet Cheng Yan’s dark eyes. The corners of her lips twitched upward. “Thank you.”

She was drinking her water when Yao Yuan had called her the second time around. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, she finished her glass and finally clicked the answer button.

“What are you doing? Why aren’t you picking up the call?”

It didn’t take long for Yao Yuan’s voice to echo from the other end of the line. It was obvious that the man was pissed off. Upon hearing the man’s faint voice, everyone turned to look at her.

“I’m playing a game,” she simply responded.

Ha! It was a good thing that Yao Yuan’s heart was fine and well. If she continued speaking to him like this, Cheng Yan and Meng Yangboth believed that the man might faint from the anger.

However, while laughter filled the Meng Mansion, the Yuan Household wasn’t as lucky. Tension seeped through the walls, as he gripped his phone. “Come back immediately.”

She raised her eyebrows. “I won’t be free today.”

“Yao Tang, do you know who you’re speaking to?” Unable to take her stubbornness, he jolted up from the couch. “Do you know exactly what trouble you’ve caused us? Well?”

“I don’t know.”

“You…” he sputtered out. Only after a long while did he manage to take a deep breath. “I don’t want to talk such nonsense with you. Come back immediately. I’ll be giving you half an hour.”

Hearing this, Yao Tang simply hung up the phone.

As soon as Yao Yuan heard the light beeping sound, his face turned a vibrant shade of green and red. “That-that scourge! How dare she? Does she have no loyalty to her own parents?”

Yao Ran wasn’t the slightest bit surprised by her response.

“So what do we do now, Dad?”

“I’ll handle it.” He pursed his lips and called his daughter once again.

This time, she had quickly answered the phone.

“Yao Tang, I’m not going to waste my time with you,” he stated. “Go to school and drop this matter with Ruan Qing. The Ruan family has given you permission to name your conditions.”

“Conditions?” Yao Tang gazed at Yang Rongwho was seated opposite her. She narrowed her eyes. “I want Yao Ranto transfer schools.”

“Do you still have any morals?” Yao Yuan gripped his phone. “She’s your sister, and you’re going to treat her like this?”

Even Yao Ran perked her ears in attention. “Dad!” she panicked.

She sat on the carpet in the living room, with the computer serving as her only light source. The vibrant light shone over her face, shadowing her background. This time, her face showed now anger, just interest. Her subordinate, Lin Shuang, was the second-in-command of the Shadow League.
