Chapter 747 - Good News
The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home
Buying private hospitals and hiring experts to develop new medicinesâ¦
Yao Ran burned with envy. She couldnât help but compare?Qin Manâs efforts to that of?Madam Meng. It wasnât hard to see who truly loved her daughter.
When she failed the Music Associationâs assessment,?Qin Man?had been furious and almost chased?Yao Ran?out of their home.
She was nothing more than a tool for her mother to show off to society. If she complained even once, Qin Man?would scold and even beat her up.
In contrast, Meng Ling?had this lavish room to herself, with her mother fussing over her every move. She was treated like a princess.
All Qin Man?ever did for?Yao Ran?was to plot her future and ensure that everything went according to plan.
Through her bitterness, Yao Ran?still felt the nagging sense that something was wrong. If the experts had taken ten years to develop the cure, then that meant that had to expend much effort and money into it.
Why would Madam Meng?offer it to others so easily?
They werenât even close to begin with!
What bothered her the most was Madam Mengâs overly eager attitude. It just didnât feel right to?Yao Ran, though she couldnât say for certain why.
Taking advantage of their motherâs conversation, Yao Ran?quietly approached?Meng Lingâs side, intending to take a better look at the latterâs wrist.
She raised her hand and was about to reach for it when Meng Ling?nimbly dodged the attempt.
Meng Ling hurriedly pulled her hand back under the blanket and screamed, her face mottled with pain.
âSorry! Iâm so sorry! I only wanted to see how your wrist is healing.â
Yao Ran put on an apologetic smile, but her eyes were still trained on?Meng Lingâs hand. Her gaze glimmered with curiosity.
âIâm sorry, Ranran,â?Madam Meng?hurried over, noticing how panicked her daughterâs reaction was. âEver since the operation,?Lingling?has not allowed anyone to touch her wrist. The doctor said that she has some psychological trauma relating to her injury. Weâll address it once her physical state is better.â
âSorry, Ranran,â?Meng Ling?said meekly. âI donât mean to be rude to you.â
Even as she said that, her free hand clutched the blanket protectively over her injured wrist. âI just donât react well to people touching me. I hope you understand.â
Qin Man nodded with sympathy.
âThatâs perfectly normal. My Ranran?is also quite protective of her ankle. Donât worry about it.â After dismissing the ruckus, she turned back to?Madam Meng. âRanran?was too clumsy and ran into an accident. We were honestly running out of options until we heard about your research.â
âDonât mention it. We used to be neighbors, anyway, so itâs only natural that we extend our help when you are in need.â
Madam Meng had a magnanimous smile on her face. âThe doctor will be here any minute now. Heâll do a check-up on?Ranran?and when there is nothing wrong, he will proceed with the surgery.â
Qin Man nodded in satisfaction.
Yao Ran, however, became even more uneasy.
And yet, she still couldnât figure out what was wrong.
Moments later, a doorbell rang, and Aunt Liu?opened the door to a doctor standing out in the hallway.
âMadam, the doctor is here.â
Madam Meng motioned for the physician to come over. âLetâs get to it, then. We shouldnât delay the childâs treatment any longer.â
âPlease take care of my daughter,â Qin Man?said politely.
She wanted this matter to be over and done with as soon as possible.
Soon enough, Yao Ran?was brought into a lab filled with all sorts of machines. After a round of going through every single one of them, she was escorted back to the VIP ward.
âHow did it go?â Meng Ling?asked as soon as she stepped inside, looking strangely anxious. âWhat did they say? Is there any possibility of a full recovery? Will you be able to walk normally in the future?â
She asked the questions in rapid-fire succession, as if she was desperate to hear the answers.
If one didnât know any better, one would think that Meng Ling?was the injured one and not?Yao Ran.
The doctor came in just then. He had a report in his hand and a big smile on his face. âI am happy to inform you that Miss Yaoâs overall health is suited to our medicineâs properties. We can begin the treatment shortly.â
Qin Man heaved an inward sigh of relief. This was good news, indeed.
âWill she be able to walk normally again?â
The doctor nodded confidently. âWe cannot say that there are no risks involved, nor can we guarantee 100% recovery. But if the surgery is successful, she has a 90% chance at a full recovery.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
