*Leo's POV*

Getting up in the morning was hell. The pain that soared through my body magnified a thousand times over with each movement I made, outshining what I felt at the hospital, and possibly even the crash that put me there. Through sheer force of will, I forced myself out of bed, turned off my alarm and headed for my bathroom to perform my morning rituals.

I decided against working out this morning, though it had been over a week since the last time, but with the pain I was going through there was no way I'd be able too make it through two sit-ups. After taking my shower and brushing my teeth, I figured I could make it through school today, provided I had some form of pain killers with me. Throwing some Tylenol in my backpack and heading downstairs, I found a note from my mother stating that she had too leave early to talk to Chloe's teacher about yesterday.

Doing a mental eye roll as the memory flashed through my head, I headed out too my car. I was leaving earlier than I did yesterday. Not too find a good parking spot or get there early, I just wanted to get something from Mc. Donald's.

Normally, I would never eat there, but I was too tired to cook and had no desire too eat the school's sad excuse for a breakfast. Putting on my Marianas Trench album I made by burning my favorite songs from them, I skipped to No Place Like Home and let that roll through my head as I started off down the road.

"There's no, yellow bricks too follow back and run from that disaster."

God, I loved his voice. How he transcended from a crystal clear sound, to a heavy rasp, almost effortlessly. I had no doubt they are one of my favorite bands, if not that he was my favorite singer.

"Familiar sins, come crashing in and sever, forever and after. My old friend, its time I leave you here, for once for all in frozen alabaster. Believe me: There's no place like home. There's no place like home."

The Mc. Donald's wasn't too far from where I lived but by the time I arrived I figured walking inside would get me out faster, due to the huge line at the drive through. I wasn't a fan of their breakfast menu, but at least I could get some orange juice and hash browns, one of the few things I enjoyed at this place.

"Leo?"

Turning around in line and looking around, my eyes stopped short as Kyle came into view, walking over in my direction. He looked kind of good today, wearing a black and grey stripped shirt and a well fitted pair of blue jeans. Even his hair was more taken care of, shinning in the light that came from the ceiling

"Hey guy, you alright? What happened to your head?"

I had forgotten about the cut on my forehead. Though it wasn't huge or anything, I'm sure it still stuck out pretty well. I had a number of small cuts on my arms as well from the glass, but nothing really major or as obvious as the one that he just pointed out.

"I got into a car accident. Some ass rear-ended me at a stop sign and I smashed my head on the steering wheel."

"Damn, is that why you weren't at school yesterday? How's your car?"

"My car got destroyed, but I have a new one now."

"That's pretty cool, I'm glad you're okay though. Hey, after you get your food why don't you come and sit with me and my friends?"

"Uh, sure."

After smiling and heading over to his table I turned back around to order. I had no idea what I wanted but they lady behind the counter suggested that I simply get one of the meals. I could tell she was flirting with me, trying to talk up her days after work, then seemed a little annoyed when I didn't ask when she was off.

When my food was finished and set on the tray I picked it up and headed over to where Kyle and his friends were sitting. Taking a seat next to where he was, I sat down my food in front of me and listened as he introduced me to everyone there.

"This is Lisa." He said pointing at the girl across from him. "And this is Kevin, Sarah, and Axel."

After all the introductions had been made I found out that Kevin is Kyle's boyfriend, Sarah was graduating this year like me, and that Axel was also a senior. He was pretty cute, short brown hair stuck out of his head easily giving view to soft brown eyes. His teeth were near perfect and his body was similar too mine, with his dark blue band shirt stretched out slightly due to his muscles.

I couldn't stop myself from sneaking glances his way, nor smiling whenever he caught me doing it. I listened too the conversation they were having for about twenty minutes before it was time to head to school.

"Alright guys, its been fun but if we don't start walking now we'll be late and Mrs. Wilkinson will kill me if I'm tardy again." Kyle stated, getting up from his seat.

"You guy want a lift? I can fit all of you in my car."

"Are you sure you don't mind?" Axel asked, smiling and taking a step towards me.

"Not at all."

I felt nervous. I didn't mind giving them a ride, I had just never offered too before. But, I wanted to make friends, so, what better way than taking the first step? Smiling as they agreed we all headed out too my car and chuckled as Kyle freaked out about it again.

"Now you've got a COMERO?"

I didn't reply, stifling a laugh I opened the passenger door for whoever was getting in that side then headed for my own. I tried to hide the blush that over took my face when Axel took the front seat, while Sarah, Lisa, Kevin and Kyle piled up in the back.

We were still about fifteen minutes from the school so we decided to head out now. Kevin asked if he could smoke in my car and I told him it was okay, just too roll the window down. I didn't mind smoking at all. My mom has been doing it all my life so I grew up used too the smell.

I had intended on turning down the radio so everyone can continue their conversations, but stopped short when Axel started singing. His voice was so soft, despite how deep it was he still had an amazing singing range. Joining in with him, the rest of the car fell silent as our voices harmonized on the song.

"Shallow graves for shallow hearts, for pick me ups and fall apart's. For promises that never started right."

"Wow you two can sing! I mean, I knew Axel could, but not you Leo...come to think of it, I still don't know much about you at all." Kyle said loudly from the backseat.

I felt myself blushing even harder; despite my efforts too make it stop. It wasn't very often I got complimented on my singing- aside from my little sister or mom when they heard me in the shower- so hearing from someone else made happy.

"Well uh...what would you like too know?" I asked, trying too hide my smile.

"Anything. Your likes, dislikes, things you do for fun, stuff like that." Axel said, coming into the conversation.

God I hated talking about myself. No matter what I said I always sounded boring beyond reason. I don't really do anything, aside from read, work out, and spend time with my family.

"Uh...I like to read, sing, I play piano, just simple things really. I don't go out much or anything."

"That's still pretty cool. I love the piano and have always wanted too learn."

"Well, maybe I could teach you sometime. I have one at my house, Axel."

"Alright then, it's a date." He said smiling as he stepped out of my car and headed off inside.

I hadn't even realized we were at the school yet, much less parked...wait, did he just say a date? I have a date? The very idea sent millions of butterflies wild in my stomach. I had never been on a date before, unless an apology dinner with your mother counted, but I'm sure that goes out the window.

"Good luck man, I'll see you at lunch." Kyle stated, stepping out of the car and following his friends. He didn't look too happy, but I didn't try to find out why. I was still wrapping the whole date concept through my head. I had no idea that Axel was even gay, or bi, or whatever.

Getting out of my car and heading inside too my first period class, I gave my teacher the note excusing my absence then took my seat at the back of the room, just to avoid the looks from everyone.
