CHAPTER 13

Luckily elevator was on that floor itself, and I found myself in the elevator and the door closing. That's when I saw Kaden run out of his apt calling my name. Before he could say anything else the door closed and I started to cry silently until I reached my car. I told him to take me to one person I knew can handle me best... SAPPHIRE.

AANYA'S POV

After reaching her house, I stepped out of the car and went to her door and knocked on it. I was trying super hard to not burst in tears before she opens her door. She opened her door with a smile, but that soon vanished when she saw my face. I can't even imagine what I must be looking.

"OMG!! Aanya.. What the fuck happened to you.?" She hugged me taking me inside. That's all I needed because the moment the door closed I started sobbing. She took me to the sofa and ran to get water for me. She picked up her phone and called someone. I was too busy crying cause I didn't even hear her talking.

"Babe, what's wrong? Did some 1 hurt you.? Please Aanya say something." She was trying to make me talk but I don't know I wasn't able to speak.

"Aanya you are scaring me now. Wh..." Before she could finish her sentence there was a knock on the door. She went to answer it and in came a very worried Ben.

"Neah. Shit. What happened? Tell us baby.." Ben came and sat besides me.I don't know how much time went by, them trying to make me talk and me crying silently. They did everything but for some reason my mind was playing that kiss again and again and I can't get rid of it.

"I think we have to call him." Ben said to Sapphire picking up his cell and going to the window.

"Aanya please. Did something happened between you and Kaden?" as she mentioned his name I stilled a little bit. "WHAT DID THAT AS*DO?" She yelled getting angry. I knew she got the hint already but I can't speak. The door knocked for the second time, and Ben went to open it.

"Where is she?" The person asked.

Josh? Josh is here. I turned to look at the door, when I saw him, I just went and hugged him tightly, and started crying all over again. He held me as much tightly. He picked me and took me to the couch. Even though he is 6 yrs younger than me, he is quite build and I seam like a doll in front of him, I am pretty close to him. When all the drama with Adrian happened, he was there in every step I took. When he got a hint of what had happened, that day Josh went to visit Adrian and even though there was a glass between them and he couldn't physically harm him, he had threatened him to life, if he ever came near me. Imagine a 16 yr old threatening a 23 yr old. He is very protective of since then.

"Aanya, what's wrong? Ben called me saying you were crying and not talking to them. What happened?" he asked me. I shook my head with a no.

"It's Kaden. When I mentioned his name she stiffened." Sapphire said. Josh went stiff besides me.

"What did he do? Aanya I swear if you don't talk then I'll go to his house and make him speak" He said angrily, and shaking a little bit from his anger.

"No!!" I anything but yelled at him. I know what he meant by going and speaking to him.

"Ok.. Now that you are talking. Tell me what's wrong Aanya.? Why did you go to his house? The driver told Ben that's where you went." He said patiently.

"I went to his house for dis..cussing so..me problems in the pro..ject." I was shuttering because I had being crying for so long

"Ok. And then what happened?" Sapphire asked.

"After we finished the work, I.. he was making me coffee. I was staring at space thinking about him and Adrian." As soon as Adrian's name left my mouth, Josh's hold on me tightened. Nonetheless I continued, "Kaden teased me about getting lost in my thoughts and I stood up to leave and came face to face with him. He then.. He.." I stopped, not wanting to continue.

"What did he do Aanya?" Josh asked between his gritted teeth. I knew he will get extremely angry.

"Hekissedme" I said in full speed. Hoping they will leave it. But I was wrong.

"Come again. Neah and try saying a little slower this time." Ben said.

I released my breath and said slowly, " He kissed me." "WHAT!!!" Ben and Josh yelled and Sapphire was looking like she is going to kill him.

"I am going to kill that fu*ker. How dare he touched you." Josh said and started going for the door. "JOSH!! Stop right there." he stopped and turned to me. "Oh no, Aanya. Wasn't it enough for him to have fucked your high school life that he has to return and create problems now." He said.

"Please Josh. Let me handle it. I know today I was crying but I promise you that from now on I will be more strong and professional. I won't let him get to me. This project is very important for my career guys. I can't afford to lose it. I have waited for this opportunity for all my life. After talking to you guys and crying so much I feel like I can handle him. I am over it" I said to all of them. Even though I was telling them that I am over it but I know I can't face him just yet. I need a little time away from him.

I looked at them giving them my best puppy dog eyes. I knew none of them can resist that look. Sapphire huffed. Ben smirked and Josh glared at me knowing very well what was I doing but still gave me nod and said, "Only this one time. If he did anything else, ill kill him." He said. I hugged him and after Spending the evening with these three idiots I left and went home to rest.

********** Next day***********

I don't know how am I going to face Kaden. I know told Josh, Ben and Sapphire that I am capable of handling the situation, but God it's damn difficult. I have decided that I'll not talk to him nor meet him. Because of this project I can't even ignore him or erase him from my freaking life. Fuck, Fuck.

But I can for sure avoid him for some days, maybe a week will be enough.Yaa that's it. A week without him. I picked up the phone and called Scarlet.

"Scarlet. Do I have any meeting lined up?" I asked her.

"Yes ma'am. There are 2 meetings for today." She answered. "Oh Good! Ask Ben to come here." I said.

After 2 mins Ben entered. "Aanya you wanted to see me.Why?"

"Yup I wanted to see you. You know because I missed seeing your face." I aid sarcastically.

"HaHa, very funny. Now come to the point MA'AM" he said mocking me.

I narrowed my eyes at him and said, " Yaa so the point. I want you to handle the project of Radiance.Inc with Ford architects. Completely for a week. Can you do that for me?"

" Neahhh. It's about Kaden right? Why are you torturing yourself. Babe you will get more big projects than this. Please Aanya think for once." Ben said.

"Ben please not now. I need this project. Grace.Inc needs this project. Its once in a lifetime contract. Please do it for me. I just need to stay away from him for a week. That's it." I said.

"Fine. If you say so." He finally agreed. I got out of my chair and hugged him.

Day after Day passed, Ben has successfully managed to keep Kaden out of my way for this 4 days. I was finally calming down a lot. Just three more days and I think I'll be fine meeting him.

At 3 o'clock Scarlet called me and said, "Ma'am Mr. Richardson is on line 2 he says he has something important to discuss with you."

"Ok Scarlet. Transfer it." I said to which she replied the usual 'Yes ma'am'.

"Hello Mr. Richardson. How are you ?" I said sounding professional.

"I am fine thank you Aanya. How many time do I have to tell you to call me Thomas.?" He said with a little fake anger.

I laughed and said, "Alright Thomas. Better. So what happened? Is there any problem with the project by far?"

"Of course not Aanya. The projects doing good till date. I just wanted to discuss few things with the both of you so I decided to call you guys." He said. I got a little confused here. Both of you?

"Uhh! Thomas what do you mean by both of you?" I asked.

"Oh my! Pardon me. I connected Kaden to this call so it would be easy to talk to both of you." He said.

Holy mother of.... Shit.

It's ok Aanya. You can do this.

How? Omg! I had three more days to avoid him..

It can't be that difficult. You just have to speak.

How?

Okkk. It's really simple. Say HI! See it's very easy. Speak. Come on you can do it.

You idiot. I know how to talk. Are you sure you are my inner voice? Cause you are DUMB.

I am dumb? No you are.. Don't even know how to talk to a guy and still, I am the one who's dumb.

If you haven't realized princess, if you call me anything, you are also calling your self dumb. Uhh!

"Aanya????" Thomas spoke trying to get my attention. Holy shit, I am officially mad. I was talking to myself.

"Yes Thomas. I am sorry, I zoned out a bit. You were saying?" I asked.

"No problem, so what I called for is that I have organized a press conference for this particular project." Thomas said.

"Ok Thomas. When are you planning to conduct it?" Kaden asked.

"The thing is Kaden that I am leaving to go to Australia day after tomorrow. So we have to do it tomorrow. What time are you both free tomorrow?" Thomas asked. Shit tomorrow. This was suppose to be no Kaden week. But it's ok. I have to be professional.

"Thomas I will be free in the morning. Ill move my meeting in the evening." I said.

"Even I am free in the morning but after 11. How about 12 o'clock?" Kaden said.

"Very well then. 12 it is. I'll arrange everything and my secretary will inform you about everything." Thomas said and he continued, "I must say, even though at first looking at you guys I felt it is going to be difficult with your personal problems. But you both did a good job professionallythat's all I want."

"Of course Thomas. We won't let our personal issue bother your project" I said.

"Yes Thomas. She is right. Those are our personal issues. We should defiantly not bring them in this project." Kaden said a little slowly. I know he is taunting me but to hell with it.

" Ok then. I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day" I said and we ended the call.

Tomorrow is going to be.. How do I say it... AWKWARD! I am going to have tough time. But nonetheless it will be professional.
