CHAPTER 1

Oh my god!!! Not this again. Do I have to go through this every freaking time I come home..???

Now you must be wondering what am I talking about. First let me tell you that I came to my parents's house to have dinner with them and the reason why I am very much angry is... Well its simple I am 26 yrs old and according to my mom I should be married by now... Weird!!I know right... What does my age have to do with my marriage?I just don't get it...

"Aanya did u meet someone interesting.. and not telling me.. C'mon there has to be someone...Tell me sweety..."asked my Ma.

"Mamma r u serious..?? I came home just last week and I told you I am not dating anyone for god's sake. How will I meet someone and fall for him in a week ma..?" I said.

Don't get me wrong I love my ma very much but I can't handle this...It's the same every time I enter in this house. You see my mom is Indian and my dad is British. So basically I am half Indian and half British. In India it's normal for girls to marry around 24. So all of this...

"Aanya don't you use that tone with me lady. And you need to find yourself a good man. You have to settle down darling, it's for your own good."

" I don't need a man to settle mom. If you don't remember I am a CEO of Grace Designs.inc. I am an architect ma and a "successful" one. So you don't need to use that card on me it won't work. I have more than enough money to live long without anyone's help or support."

"And ma if this is what you are going to talk about, then I'll leave and come when dad and Josh come home."

"Aanya! You know I love you sweety. Fine we won't discuss about it... For now...so how's work? "

And so the topic ended. We talked about anything and everything. I can talk to my ma about anything, she used to be my bestfreind. I can talk to her for hours and not get bored. But since this wedding stuff came in between us it's becoming very frustrating,

After an hr and a half dad and Josh came home. Dad went to meet his friends n Josh went to... I don't know where he was but he came on time. That's what I love about him that he always have time for his family no matter what.After they came and we talked until it was time for dinner prepared by my ma. Dad just loves food made by her. Who am I kidding even me and my brother love it. Well it was one of the main reason dad married her ;).

While eating our dinner me and Josh were doing those silent fight with our spoons and legs. You know what I mean.

"Aanya, Josh don't fight while having dinner. You know I don't like you disrespecting your food." Dad scolded in a strict tone. And we knew not to argue with him when he uses this tone. So we finished eating our dinner.

We ate dinner and then were eating dessert in the living room, when my dad asked "Aanya how's work going..? You are handling it properly or not?"

"It's going good dad. I have many projects in my hand right now. So over and all it's hectic." I answered.

"Hmmm.. Aanya u should come and meet your old man more often. You know how much I missed you?" dad said.

I laugh at this..."dad I came last week here. Did you forget so soon?"

"No I certainly didn't, but it was 7 days before. You used to stay here every day and now I get to see you once or twice a week... u see what am I telling you..?" He asked teasing me.

"Oh my old man, I'll try and come more often but you know how much that company tires me dad."I told.

And that ladies and gentlemen is my dad, strict from outside and funny from inside. My brother if u ask is 6 years younger than me and a little shy around new people but from the rumors I have heard he is quite the other way round when he is with his friends.

After meeting my family n having dinner with them I decided to head home, i.e. to my apartment I reached there around 10 pm went to sleep after a having a warm shower because I have to go to office tomorrow.

Next morning, I woke up at 8. I took my shower and had breakfast, wore a bright red high waist pencil skirt and a long sleeved white top, did some minimal makeup added a pair of white stilettos and went to my office in my Audi A6. When I reached my office building I wore my poker face and got out of my car. Entering the building, I saw two of my employees talking in the lobby. I got very irritated, how can they talk at this hour. Don't they have work to do rather than gossiping.

"Ladies, I don't give you money to talk and gossip. I think you guys don't have much work to do. My cabin in 20 minutes"

They both looked scared. Good, they should be. I can't tolerate lazy people in my company.

With that I went to my personal lift to get to my office on 27th floor after been greeted by my employees and responding them with a curt nod.

Reaching my office, I called to my secretary and asked her to bring my schedule for today. I was going through some files when there was a knock...

"Come in" I said.

Scarlett entered my office and gave me schedule and she said "Ma'am, there was a mail from Radiance.Inc about an offer to design their new Branch. Should I forward it to you...?"

"Yes Scarlett. Anything else?" I asked.

"No ma'am." She answered and left my cabin.

I don't like her at all. She is here just because she is able to handle the pressure of being my secretary unlike the last 3. Yes 3 secretaries in 2 years. They were incapable of handling my temper and the pressure. And Scarlett, she is b*tch and is working just for the money. Don't get me wrong I mean even I work for money, who doesn't. At least she does her job, or else I'll fire her. But don't worry the feelings mutual between the two of us even she doesn't like me... I have heard her calling me a bitch, a heartless soul. But guess what, I am used to it.

There was a knock interrupting my chain of thoughts. Those two ladies entered my office, and they were on time, in right 20 minutes. I warned them about their behavior today or else they'll be fired from here. I gave them extra work because they have a lot of time to gossip and dismissed them. Now they won't have time to gossip let alone talk, at least for 2 days.

I know my employees call me all sort of names and I don't mind one bit because I am the one who made this company, it is what it is due to me and I don't give a f*ck , they can call me whatever they want to, until they do their work. Or else I won't think twice before firing them and they know it.

I was going through the plans of Mr. Wills's private beach house, as I received the mail from Radiance.Inc forwarded by Scarlett. As I was reading the mail when Ben entered the office without knocking as usual. Who is Ben...? Well he is Ben ... my employee as in a head architect who takes care of the design and architecture department and supervises those departments with Joey (other head architect). Ben is immensely handsome. He could make girls go crazy n drop on their knees. He has golden brown hair and those most beautiful shade of brown eyes. And the most important information... He is one of my Best Friends.

"Uhh!!! Ben!! How many times do I have to tell you to knock and come inside? What if I am doing something important...?" I asked frustratingly.

"Like what?? S*x..?? C'mon Bunnyyyy I know you won't be doing anything as such because 1. You don't have a boyfriend. 2. You don't do 'Dang Bang Thank you Man' and 3. You are in love with your work. How can you work so much Aanya..?" He retorted.

"By important things I meant work not S*x!! And what if I am in a middle of some meeting?? Huh..." I replied ignoring those 3 reasons he gave me.

"You mostly don't do a meeting in here, and if you were I'll just excuse myself and ask you something important and leave. Are you judging my capability woman..?" Ben asked faking a hurt look.

"I never judge your capabilities Benny." I smirked, knowing how much he hated me called him that.

"Bunny how many times do I have to tell you not to call me that..???" He questioned irritatingly. Ben has one more habit, he always give me a new name almost every freaking day.

"Anyways Ben what are you doing here? I have to work and it's important. So please Ben leave"

"Oh no you didn't just forget. It's almost every time you forget Aanya. Today is Monday we are having lunch at Sapphire's" He reminded me.

"Oh crap!! I forgot. What time is it..?" I asked looking at my watch. "F*ck... its 1:40. Ben lets go u a*shole. Why didn't you remind me earlier?" I said trying to pushing Ben out of my office. Key word 'trying'. God he weighs like a WWE champion.

He laughed and said "if you don't remember my Bunny, I was here to take you.."

"Whatever, now hurry up will you. Gosh move you fatty. She'll kill me." I said.

"Now that would be a scene to see, wont it..?" he replied wriggling his eyebrows. I punched him on shoulder and we went out from my cabin to the elevator.
