Chapter 55 - Horsemanship

Jiang Zhi did not seem to be joking, but Director Zheng was not confident in her horsemanship.

Yu Wan’s part was most likely to be riding a horse, and it required an extremely skilled rider to accomplish the extremely difficult movements.

Director Zheng wanted to dissuade her, but since Cheng Yi was present, he did not dare to voice his opinion. Just as he was about to nod his head in agreement, Yin Yue stood up to object.

She pointed at Jiang Zhi sharply and said, “You can’t rely on your background to stabilize Yu Wan’s role!”

“Since you’re fighting for the role, then you have to pass the audition! Do you dare to compete with me in equestrian? Let’s see who’s more suitable!”

Yin Yue had been in and out of the equestrian club with Zhang He before, so she knew some equestrian skills.

In her eyes, Jiang Zhi was a vase being kept by Yan Zhang. She only knew how to dress up and appear in front of everyone, but she would not know how to ride a horse at all!

She looked at Director Zheng with confidence. Of course, Director Zheng wanted the project to be completed at its best state. He wanted to choose the best one.

Director Zheng looked at Jiang Zhi hesitantly. She accepted the challenge happily and said, “Sure. If you lose to me, keep your mouth shut in the future. Don’t find any excuses and train your acting skills! Don’t affect the entire production team because of you.”

Since Yin Yue was going to be shot, then don’t blame her for not being polite.

Jiang Zhi’s eyes were filled with contempt. She walked straight to the racecourse and chose a particularly dark horse that looked tall and mighty.

The equestrian coach wanted to help her put on the saddle and protective measures, but Jiang Zhi refused flatly. She tightened the reins and straddled the horse. Her swift movements made the surrounding people cry out in surprise, as if they were watching a show!

Yin Yue could not believe it. She silently guessed that Jiang Zhi only knew how to flap her gums. She got on the horse and stopped beside her at the starting line.

Cheng Yi put his hands on the railing and turned his head. He saw the worry in Lu Mian’s eyes. “Can she do it?”

Lu Mian pursed his thin lips and did not answer. However, the tense muscles all over his body and the body language that he was prepared to use at any time explained everything.

“Begin!”

The equestrian coach waved the checkered flag. Jiang Zhi clamped her legs tightly around the horse’s abdomen and rushed out at an extremely fast speed.

She could very well be in the state of riding a wild horse. However, her movements were smooth, her body was light, and even her expression was well-controlled. Cheng Yi clapped and said, “That’s great! Did you know that she knew how to ride a horse?”

Lu Mian relaxed and shook his head. He had never seen her at the horse farm in his previous life. He did not expect her to be so dazzling.

He chuckled and whispered, “Zhi Zhi, how many secrets do you have that I don’t know?”

On the other side, Yin Yue heard the crowd cheering for Jiang Zhi and became more and more irritable. She whipped the horse’s butt and cursed.

“Move forward! Damn it! Useless!”

When the two of them crossed paths, Jiang Zhi used the movement of her sword to pick up a small pebble with a tree branch and flew straight towards Yin Yue’s horse’s eyes!

The horse was frightened and raised its front hooves. It neighed and shook non-stop, throwing Yin Yue off the horse’s back!

Yin Yue screamed in fright!

She fell heavily to the ground, and the horse’s front hooves landed on her legs.

“Ah!!! It hurts!”

The crisp sound of bones breaking made Yin Yue cry out in pain. Director Zheng and the others rushed over and called for the Doctor to check.

Yin Yue glared at Jiang Zhi, who was standing beside her. “It’s all your fault! You caused me to fall off my horse! You have to take responsibility!”

Jiang Zhi shrugged. She was sure that no one had seen the stone.

“I was so far away from you. How could I possibly harm you?”

She said innocently, “Besides, what reason do I have to harm you?”

Yin Yue blurted out, “It’s all because of Yu Wan…”

Jiang Zhi sneered, “Why should I harm you because of Yu Wan? Could it be that you feel guilty because Yu Wan was harmed by you?”

Yin Yue realized that she had almost let the cat out of the bag and spat, “Don’t spout nonsense! How would I know what a crazy woman like you is thinking!”

Jiang Zhi shrugged and did not say anything.

She had done it on purpose. What right did Yin Yue have to find someone to take the blame for her bad deeds while she herself did not have to suffer any punishment?!

This time, she wanted to avenge Yu Wan!
