“Take the patient back to rest. Call us if there’s anything,” the specialist came out and instructed.

Ning Shan immediately rushed up and kept saying, “Thank you, doctor!”

She followed her father’s bed to the ward. When she saw that the nurses had arranged all the monitoring equipment, she heaved a sigh of relief. She looked at her father’s pale and sunken face which had fallen asleep, his chin which was covered with stubble, with heartache. She seemed to have thought of something, and a wave of anger rose in her chest. She yelled at Mrs. Ning, “What did you do to my father? His critical condition must have something to do with you!”

At this moment as Gu Minghuai was not beside her. Mrs. Ning could not be bothered to pretend anymore. She showed a disdainful expression. “Ning Shan, you shouldn’t hide the facts after you had the gall to do it. Since you’ve sold your body to be master Gu’s mistress, why won’t you let me tell anyone?”

Ning Shan’s pupils constricted. It was as if countless sharp arrows had pierced through her heart. She was in so much pain that she couldn’t feel anything other than the cold.

“You told my father all this?” She stared at her mother in disbelief. “He’s your ex-husband after all. How can you be so heartless?”

“He’s just my ex-husband. You stole Yun’er’s fiancé, how could you be this shameless and call me heartless?” Mrs. Ning’s expression became ferocious, “Ning Shan, it seems that other than learning all the dirty and shameless seduction skills when you grew up in the countryside. You haven’t learned anything else!”

Ning Shan shook her head repeatedly and looked at the noblewoman in front of her in disbelief. “Mom, how can you say that?”

There’s no way this could be true, Gu Minghuai could only be Yun ‘er’s. How could he be taken by someone like Ning Shan!
