Jiang Zhenping thought for a moment. “Since you had a bad incident with Ning Shan, don’t go over for now. I’ll go up and say hello to her and fourth master Gu.”

After that, he went up to Ning Shan and Gu Minghuai with a glass of wine. He smiled and greeted Gu Minghuai. Then, he turned to look at the young girl standing at his side. “This is Ning Shan, right? Looking at you is like looking at my daughter.”

Gu Minghuai was very indifferent and nodded apathetically. Ning Shan glanced at him and pursed her lips while feeling slightly conflicted. After all, this was Ning Yun’s father. Since he had come over to greet her, it was not good for her not to respond. Thus, she said softly, “Hello, Mr. Jiang.”

“Such a polite child, just like Yun ‘er,” Jiang Zhenping chuckled. While praising Ning Shan, he didn’t forget to compliment Ning Yun as well. He then turned to Gu Minghuai, “Both of them are good girls. They are both the daughters of the Jiang family, fourth master Gu does indeed has good taste.”

As expected of Jiang Zhenping, the head of the Jiang family. He was tactful and diplomatic. He complimented Gu Minghuai, praised Ning Yun, and didn’t offend Ning Shan. However, how could Gu Minghuai not understand his intention? His gaze coldly swept across Jiang Zhenping and only responded with a “Hm”, not caring about Jiang Zhenping at all.

On the other end of the banquet hall, there were young ladies that are whispering about the woman beside Gu Minghuai. A young lady wearing a red gown suddenly pat her companion’s arm, she pointed not far away, “Hey, the person beside fourth master Gu isn’t Ning Yun. Ning Yun is standing beside Mrs. Jiang, I recognized her.”

“That’s true.” Her companion looked over in unison and immediately exclaimed, “Then who’s the person beside fourth master Gu?”

“I just asked around. That girl’s name is Ning Shan. She’s Ning Yun’s twin sister.” another girl said in a low voice.

Not far away, Ning Yun was staring at Ning Shan with her beautiful eyes that were about to spat flames. It was obvious that he wanted to publicly announce Ning Shan’s standing if the fourth master Gu had brought that bitch here.

What made her even more jealous was Ning Shan’s appearance today. She used to be a country girl who wore plain sportswear all day long, but today, she was a dazzling princess. She could tell that the necklace on Ning Shan’s neck was worth tens of millions. Needless to say, it must have been given to her by Gu Minghuai.

Gu Minghuai’s words and actions showed his extreme love for Ning Shan, which intensified Ning Yun’s jealousy even more. She and Ning Shan had the same face, but why did Gu Minghuai not look at her and would rather have that country bumpkin?

It must be that her methods of seducing men were too “special”. Gu Minghuai was too naive and couldn’t resist those seductive techniques, so he was easily fooled.

Seeing that Gu Minghuai had temporarily gone to attend a social occasion and Ning Shan was alone, Ning Yun held a wine glass and went forward. She looked at the person in front of her up and down and said sourly, “Sister, you’re really dazzling today.”

Ning Shan was surprised. “Sister, you’re here too?”

Ning Yun was furious. “Ning Shan, what do you mean by that? Don’t tell me that I’m not allowed to appear just because you’re here? Don’t think that you can be this arrogant just because Gu Minghuai brought you here.”

“Sister, that’s not what I meant. I just wanted to say hello to you. I’m sorry…” Ning Shan saw that she was angry and did not know what to do.

Ning Yun was burning with anger, but she still gritted her teeth and asked the question she wanted to know the most, “What’s your relationship with Gu Minghuai?”

“I…” Ning Shan looked hesitant and didn’t know how to answer.
