Chapter 16

The Rightful Luna and The Fraud

Unexpected Surprises

Chapter 14

~I was in a beautiful meadow with bright flowers blooming everywhere. I felt happy, so content.

"Mommy!" Two familiar voices squealed out. I turned making the grass bend at my feet. And there they were, my twins. They laughed out as someone wrapped their arms around them picking them off floor.

"No! Mommy save us from daddy!" Joey yelled through his laughing fit. A smile spread on my face as I wobbled over to them.

"Which one do you want. I think this one has more meat, Alpha's should get the most meat." Caleb hummed as he lifted Joey a bit higher.

"No mommy he's going to eat me!" Joey let out a strange mix of a giggle and laugh as Caleb playfully bit his tummy.

"You can have him I want her. She looks juicy!" I let out a wicked laugh before grabbing Zoey and attacking her tummy with kisses. "Mommy stop it!" She giggled. I laughed and set her on her feet. The twins took off and started to chase each other.

"Soon we'll have another pup running around like a maniac." Caleb chuckled wrapping his arms around my waist, caressing my belly. I gasped as I saw my large belly covered by my white maxi dress.

"I promise nothing will separate us. I want to be there to see our pup grow." He glanced over to the twins and frowned. "I'm sorry I was such a child. You don't know how much I wish I was there for the twins." My eyes glazed over with tears as I looked at the man in front of me. "You're here now that's all that matters." I sniffled before fully facing him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down but before our lips met, I heard a deadly growl.

I turned to see a large multicolored wolf pounce out of the woods heading to the twins.

"No!" I screamed thrashing against Caleb’s hold on me. "Caleb! Let go!" I continued to push his chest with no avail.

"Cal-" I gasped seeing a familiar pair of coal black eyes staring back at me. Heath.

"Missed me." ~

"Jake hold her down!"

"What's going on!"

"Ariana baby please calm down." Someone cooed into my ear. I let out a small whimper before slowly opening my eyes.

Caribbean blue. Caleb.

My eyes filled with tears, remembering how those loving eyes turning into wicked black.

"Love don't cry. You're okay." He cringed smoothing back my hair.

"Where are the twins! Are they okay? Did Heath get them! Where are they!" I shouted throwing the thin white sheet off my body.

"Ariana sweetie please lay back down!" I jumped startled to find someone else in the room. "Lay down." Jackson repeated sternly.

"No my kids need me." I growled jumping off the bed. I never expected my legs to feel like jell-o.

I let out a small gasp as my legs fell out from under me. Before I could hit the floor someone wrapped their arms around me.

"Ari, the twins are fine. They're with Quinn. Please lay back down." Jake assured me sitting me back down on the bed. I could hear the threatening growl from behind me letting us know that Caleb didn't like that Jake was touching me.

"I need to see them." I whimpered ignoring Caleb. "I'll go get them." He kissed my forehead before walking out the door.

"What happened?" I asked looking over to Jackson. "You were attacked." I could hear the pain and anger in his voice as he stepped closer to me. "I'm sorry Ari. I heard your howl but I was too late. I'm so sorry baby."

My heart clenched seeing Caleb beating himself up for something that was out of his control. "Caleb it's okay." I assured him intertwining our fingers together.

I could feel his wolf calming down as he gripped my hand tighter. "Do you know who they were?" I asked turning to Jackson. "They?" I nodded before laying back down. My side felt as if someone lit it on fire.

"I'll get you some more morphine." Jackson rushed across the room grabbing the medicine before walking back to us.

"There was more than one?" Caleb growled breathing through his nose.

"Two. A male and a female." I nodded wincing as Jackson injected me. "They used a heavy bane." He sighed throwing away the needle into the container.

"I'm going to find them. And I will make them pay for the pain they're putting you through baby, I promise."

The look on his face was murderous and it terrified me. But before I could say anything someone burst through the door.

“Babe, what are you doing here! I’ve been looking for you for hours!” I shut my eyes and slowly shook Caleb’s hand off of mine. Sarah. How could one foolish dream make me forget that the man that was supposed to be my soul-mate, was engaged.

“Sarah. What do you want?’ he growled out.

“Miss Belle needs to rest. Please step out.” Jackson gave me a sympathetic glance before glaring at the couple besides us. I could hear Caleb give Jackson a threatening growl but Jackson didn’t submit. He walked over to the door and opened it, raising his brow while motioning for them to leave.

I would’ve laughed if I didn’t feel like I was about to cry. I was so tired of crying. How was it even possible for someone to cry as much as I have. It was truly pathetic.

“You’re only the doctor Jackson. We could easily replace you with someone less pathetic.” Sarah spat throwing her blonde hair over her shoulder.

“Get out.” I growled glaring at the blonde girl in front of me. “And don’t you ever speak to him like that again. Ever.” My wolf added.

Jackson sent me a proud smile, just like Caleb. While Sarah gaped at me like a fish out of water. “Who the hell do you think you are!” She screeched sending me a murderous glare. “The rightful Luna.” I smirked crossing my arms across my chest. “Don’t even try to deny it Laney. You can feel Caleb and my bond. But you’re in denial. You don’t want to give up the power.” My wolf’s voice broke through calling out to Laney - Sarah’s wolf.

“He’s marrying me Rosette. I don’t think the bond is very strong. But you only have yourself to blame.” Laney’s sickening sweet voice came through. I flinched realizing it was true. She had him. They were going to be wed soon. They were going to would have pups, where he would actually be there to see them grow.

“The wedding’s next month by the way. We would love for you to come, with the twins of course. I want to meet those little … children. My soon to be step-kids.” She smirked before making her way out of the door.

don’t let her have the last word!

I cringed back feeling the anger coursing through my wolf.

We’ve lost Rose. Let it go. Let him go.

I begged.

“Aria- get out.” I begged looking down At my blankets. I didn’t want to look at Caleb. If I did I would remember my dream. The possibility of us having another beautiful pup. Of being a family. But that was impossible.

“Alpha Caleb please leave.” I insisted forming a fist. I was fighting off my wolf who was begging, threatening, pleading for me to let her come to the surface again. To make him see we were mates. Not him and Sarah. All she was, was a power hungry she-bitch. Just as she was in high school.

You truly are pathetic Ariana.

Then she was gone. Leaving me to deal with an angry and confused Caleb.

“You have to listen to me Ariana!” He growled grabbing my face, turning it to face him. “I don’t want to listen to your voice anymore! All you bring me is pain and heart breaks! You’re still a foolish little boy! You think everything is a game - but it’s not. Not peoples feelings, not mine and defiantly not the twins!” I blurted before shoving his hands away from my face. I could feel the familiar tingles where our skin met making me squirm in my bed.

I craved him so much. But I him. I hated how he could make me fall for him with a single glance, a single word. I hated how he was engaged, how he played me.

“I’m not leaving.“ He sat across from me glaring a hole into my head. But I ignored him and focused on an awkward Jackson. I sent him an apologetic smile before turning to look out the window. I hated this place. This town.

“Mommy!” I sniffled away the on coming tears and turned to face the two people I was waiting to see.

“Joey, Zoey!” I chocked out sitting up quickly. I motioned for them to come and that’s all it took for Zoey to rush forward into my arms. We were so scared mommy!” Zoey blubbered out into my chest while I ran my fingers through her long chocolate brown hair. “I’m here baby. I’m okay.” I smiled lifting her into my bed. I let out a small whimper making all three of the males to flinch towards me. “I’m fine.” I smiled at a nervous Jackson, ignoring Caleb’s worried stare that was glaring down at me.

“Joey, why are you all the way over there?” I frowned at my baby. He looked so frigid and emotionless. It scared me. My baby wasn’t like that. “Joey.” i whispered. He glanced away from me to the window beside me.

I sighed before swinging my legs off the bed, ignoring the searing pain at my side before slowly standing up. “Ariana!” Both Caleb and Jackson scolded rushing to my side. “im fine.” I frowned pulling my arms away from them. “Mommy.” Zoe whimpered crawling off the bed to stand by my side. “I’m fine.” I assured her before taking a step to a wide eyed Joey. I hissed feeling the wound tug.

“Mommy lay down!” Joey shouted rushing to my side. I gave him a cheeky smile before letting him help me back into my bed. “So would you like to tell me why you were avoiding me like I had the flu.” I asked slightly hurt that he still wasn’t looking at me.

“I-” he stuttered glancing at my face. His chin started to wobble before he threw his arms around my neck, being careful to avoid my wound. “Quinn told us you went to doctors ‘cause you were- you were hurt. I thought you were going to leave us. Please don’t leave us mommy!” Joey cried making me tear up.

“I’m not going anywhere.” I promised kissing the top of my twins heads.

“What do you mean I can’t go in! That’s MY daughter in there Jackson!”

I growled and slowly opened my eyes albeit reluctantly. My mother was shouting and yelling outside the door making me and my twins wake up from our much needed nap.

“Mommy why is gramma yelling?” Joey whispered covering His face with the blanket. “She’s being dramatic. Like always.” I smiled before remembering something that put a serious damper to my mood. “Ariana are you okay?” I jumped in surprise to find a groggy Caleb standing up from the arm chair.

He slept there ?

“Ariana?” he repeated making me blush.

“Can you tell Jackson that it’s fine. I need to speak to my mother anyways.”i asked still blushing like a school girl. He nodded and quickly stood shooting me a grin before rushing out the door. That was the first time I had acknowledged him. I wonder why he hadn’t left yet.

I did say some pretty harsh things last night. Didn’t he have to plan for his wedding? I frowned before turning to my now awake twins.

“I’m going to need you guys to step out with Papa Jackson for a little okay. I need to talk to grandma.” They both nodded throwing the blankets off. They gave me a good morning kiss before jumping off the bed. Just as they were done pulling on their shoes my mother burst through the doors.

“Oh my sweet baby! How are you feeling! Do you need anything!” She shouted pulling out pillows, waters, nuts and a weird ball looking thing out of her purse. One thing about my mother was that she was always very protective of her girls. Just like my daddy. Or who I believed was my father for twenty-one years.

“Hi babies.” She added kissing the twins as they made their way to Jackson. “Hi gramma.” Zoey squealed. “Bye gramma.” Joey added pulling Jackson and an amused Caleb out of the door.

“Why’d they all leave?” My mother chuckled before throwing he purse onto the seat where Caleb had slept on.

“Mom, who’s my father. My real father.”
