CHAPTER 47: NEWBIE LOVER!
LOVE SICK : The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys
I wake up in a daze as Iâm not sure which these tangled legs and arms belong to. I blink rapidly to chase away my drowsiness and break into laughter once I see Phunâs sleeping face. His hair is all messy like a little kid. It makes sense that heâs passed out like this after last night. He was really rowdy so I returned the favor. If we were keeping scores, Iâm still technically losing. Letâs just say that Phun didnât get to have his way with me and got away with it. Heh heh heh.
I check my own watch, it tells me that itâs nearly noon now so I shake Phun lightly to wake him up. âGet up, itâs almost noon.â It takes a few tries before he finally starts moving around.
Phun stretches his body a bit before he reaches over to hug me. âAh, you were really something last nightâ¦flipping things around like that.â Heh heh heh, heâs still not over this.
I raise my brows mockingly at him despite his face still buried into the pillow. âIf you stay this skinny like this then Iâm gonna keep flipping ya. Weâre not even yet so you better watch out.â I caution him as I was way too exhausted last night to continue. Phun laughs heartily once he heard what I had to say.
âHow about now?â His hand is as quick as his lips. I immediately grab a hold of it when I feel him caressing me in a certain area.
I use my other hand to smack him in the head. âGet your mind out of the gutter, asshole! Itâs time to get up and do something productive. Iâm starving.â I tell him while getting up to use the bathroom, but then Phun rubs his eyes and follows me. What does he want? âWhy are you following me?â
âWhat? I thought we were gonna take a shower?â
âNo, Iâm taking a shower first.â This is my room, dude!
âLetâs just take it together.â He tells me while he scratches his arm, almost as if heâs simply discussing the weather. Meanwhile, I must look like Iâve seen a ghost.
âReal funny! Get out of here, Iâm gonna take a shower.â But no matter how hard I push him away, this tall guy refuses to budge. And now heâs taunting me with a grin.
âBut you take baths with Om. Donât think that I donât know about that.â When the hell did those two talk about this?! Whatever! Thatâs different! âCut the crap, Omâs my friend.â
âEh? What about me then?â And now heâs acting cute. But still obnoxious. Heâs being obnoxiously cute. Iâm not giving in to him but he shoves his way inside the bathroom. He turns the faucet on and uses the shower head to wet his hair. Now, heâs calling me over and inviting me to join him. âCome on, weâre wasting water.â
Sighhhhh. If thatâs what he wants!
We spent a bit of time getting ready before I drove Phun to his house on my motorcycle so he could change. He was telling me that he wanted to go see a movie. Thatâs great. You still have the energy to go out? Iâm freaking tired.
I chatted with nong Pang in the living room while I wait for him to change his clothes to kill some time. His little sister continued to be ambiguous and teased me about my relationship with Phun. But it was strange this time around. I guess it was because the stuff we said to fool nong Pang all came true. Heh heh.
Phun didnât take too long to change. He arrives back downstairs dressed down to the nines. That traitor! Meanwhile, here I am wearing my (school) shorts with a pair of flipflops. Yet, youâre wearing a fancy pair of jeans?! Naturally, I give him the stink eye when he makes way down the steps.
âDo I look good?â He has the balls to ask.
âYou always look good, pâPhun~â Nong Pang beams at him with compliments. On the other hand, I smile at him dryly. âGet your ass back upstairs and change into shorts right now.â Itâs time for some tough love with this guy!
Not that someone like Phun Phumipat would ever listen to me. He grins at me and lovingly ruffles nong Pangâs hair. âThis pâPhun is so handsome and anyone would wanna date him, right? Thereâs only that pâNoh over there who wants to keep him looking haggard.â Pompous ass!
After he has his fill of praises for his choice of long length pants, he turns and drags me along with him. âCome on, letâs go now or we wonât get any tickets for the good showtimes.â Damn this jerk. Are you deaf or do you just donât understand anything?! I said go change your pants!
In the endâ¦Master Phun dragged me to Siam. Iâm wearing a used t-shirt with my school (blue) shorts and a pair of flipflops. Well, then. It canât be any worse than this. I thought we were gonna go watch a movie at Major Cineplex near Ekamai. But that jerk betrayed me by telling the cab driver to take us to this place. So here we are at Siam, with me looking like Master Phunâs servant.
âDonât worry about it, man. Youâre hot, you look good wearing anything.â Listen to him trying to comfort meâ¦without any hint of sincerity.
âItâs good that you realize that.â Donât think that someone like this Noh will ever be humble. I march toward the movie theater with Phun trailing behind me. Luckily, Phun and I wanted to see the same movie. Itâs an independent film so itâs only being shown at Lido and Scala. We arrive at Scala around 2 pm but the only available showtime is at 4 pm. We decide to grab a bite to eat and kill some time despite having had lunch at Phunâs place already.
âCoca Suki? I wanna eat there.â He swears that this is just a place to kill time? Iâm stunned by his choice of going to a full-featured restaurant. It seems like he really wants to eat there though so I donât want to go against him. I guess I can let him have his way today. Secretly, Iâm thinking about how Phun prefers to eat old peopleâs good just like Om does.
The two of us walk across to Siam Discovery from Siam Square. Coca Suki isnât very crowded like always. Thereâs no need to wait for two hours like Sizzlers located opposite of this place. Phun and I chat while we are being taken to our table by a hostess. But before I could look around and have a seat, I hear my name being called.
âPâNoh?!â
Who the hell was that? The voice wasnât very loud but I heard him clearly. I look around to find the source of the voice. It turns out to be nong Mick, with Om trying to cover his mouth to silence him. Heh heh. You think you can hide from me? I donât think so!
Phun seems to be pretty startled having run into Om like this himself. Thereâs a chilling smile on my face as I advance over to those two right away. âNo more hangover, man? I see that you brought nong Mick to Siam on a Saturday for the french horn lesson too.â Heh heh heh. Letâs see what kind of lame excuses heâll give his time around.
âOh, itâs not like that, pâ. He asked me to come get some books with him.â Oh, nong Mick. You are so adorably naive. I burst out laughing as I watch Om failing to cover nong Mickâs mouth the second time around.
This sneaky friend of mine lets out a heavy sigh. âThereâs no need to tell him everything, Mick!â He scolds the underclassman thatâs here with him before he glares at me for having caught on to him. âWhat about you? On a date with Phun?â There it is. The focus is on me in the end.
As expected, Phun pops out from behind me with a grin once his name is called. âHi, Om. Heâs really adorable, by the way.â Heh heh. Thatâs very good. Keep on helping me like that while I come up with an excuse for myself.
Phun and Om chat for a long while before my friend asks that question again. âSo whatâs the deal with you and Noh? Iâm dying to find out.â Fucking hell! Donât ask Phun that or heâllâ¦
âNoh and I areâ¦â
âWhat? Why canât I be here with him today? He spent the night at my place after all.â The only way to get out of this is to interrupt Phun. (I know what you were about to say!) I notice that the guy whose spotlight was stolen looking a little disappointed. Om raises his chopsticks and points them at me. âYour dick falls off if you lie!â Damn, thatâs harsh.
I automatically cover my crotch before I point my finger back at him. âWhat about you? Whatâs the deal with you and nong Mick?! Your dick falls off if you lie!â Bring it on! I can pull the same move as you. Letâs see what heâll come up as an answer.
Om panics and looks at nong Mick for a split second. I notice that the underclassman from my club is avoiding everyoneâs gaze while heâs sitting there with a red face. Hm, thatâs adorable.
Om shouts a reply just as I expected him to. âBrothers!â The nerves of him to say that! I donât know if Iâm imagining this but nong Mick seems rather dejected at once. But I donât have any time to notice anything else because Om fires questions back at me. âWhat about you? Just friends? For real?â And weâre back to this again! I turn to look at Phun whoâs staring at me as if heâs eager to learn the answer too.
What now
âYeah! Friends!â I brush off the question despite not feeling that way at all. âThis is such a waste of time, Iâm gonna go eat my food, bastard. Iâm out!â Enough! Iâm done talking about this. I drag Phun back to our table. We can hear Om laughing away from behind.
***
The entire time we were eating the sukiyaki, Phun didnât say a word.
I was little puzzled by his strange behaviors but I didnât bug him about it. I figured that Phun was starving and wanted to stuff his face instead of talking (to which I didnât mind). Things got even stranger when we were watching the movie. Phun was still quiet.
I glance at his face in the dark theater. He has his glasses on while looking solemn next to me in spite of this being a comedy film.
I nudge him with my elbow gently. âItâs not funny? I thought you wanted to see this movie.â
âYeahâ¦â It sounds like heâs giving me a reply just to brush me off. I keep my mouth shut and pay attention to the movie in front of me. However, I couldnât even last for 10 minutes before I had to glance at Phun again.
Heâs still frowning.
âPhunâ¦whatâs the matter?â
âNothing.â Whatâs with him? Weâve been together for only a day and thereâs trouble already? I furrow my brows and stare at the headstrong guy next to me in confusion. I guess the only way to cure this disease is to let it runs its course.
Is it though
I glance at Phunâs face once more and his expression is still stern. I decide to just let him be.
The movie continues to play and itâs hilarious. Itâs so funny that Iâm laughing over and over, so much so that I almost fell out of my seat. Phun, on the other hand, sits still in silence as if his entire left side is paralyzed. I donât know if he simply doesnât find the movie funny or he just needs to take a crap with that frown on his face.
Eventually, the movie ends and we leave the theater. I have a big smile on my face. The sky lets us know that itâs getting pretty late. I look down at my watch while wondering if Phun is being quiet because heâs hungry again.
âWanna get something to eat together?â I ask him in a cheery mood.. The person who came here with me takes off his glasses and puts it in his pants pocket before he shakes his head. Ohâ¦so heâs not hungry?
âWanna go shopping?â Weâre at Siam already anyway, I figured. I actually wanted to check out the books at Kinokuniya. I had placed an order for Music Express magazine the other day and I really want to check out the CD that comes with it. Butâ¦Phun seems like heâs totally over it.
âNoâ¦what about you?â He answers quietly. At least he asks me in return though. Butâ¦itâs not like I can tell him that Iâd want to go somewhere with that expression on his face.
âNahâ¦â Iâll just drop by again on my own some other time.
Phun gives me a nod and he checks his watch before he hails a cab for us. âIâll drop you off at home then.â Heh, that simple? Iâm perplexed but I follow him and get inside the taxi. I suppose Phun is tired. Heâll probably feel better once he gets some rest.
