Chapter 7 : SUCH A NICE DAY
LOVE SICK : The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys
âHello, khun Phun and khun Noh.â The housekeeper already knows my name even though Iâve only been here twice, can you imagine that? I smile and nod respectfully to the woman who is likely older than my mother. I mean, I might be loud and vulgar, but I do have manners! Please believe me!
âAuntie Noi, can you ask Uncle Nhan where Nohâs motorcycle is?â Phun asks about my lifelong transportation buddy when the older woman walks over to take his school bag. She is about to go put them away when she hears the question so she quickly turns around and gives us a gentle smile.
âNhan is washing it for you. I told him to do that since this afternoon but he was complaining about back pains. He finally felt a bit better so heâs doing that now.â Who on earth asked him to wash it, Auntie?! Oh, my god! I feel like such a freaking burden. Look at me, Iâm torturing old people!
âWhere is he now?â I quickly and impatiently ask her. I donât want to cause any more trouble to the people living at Phumipat Resident. Especially when I see this auntieâs gentle smile, Iâm feeling even worse.
âHeâs by the garage. He had just started, so I donât think heâs finished yet. Will you mind waiting for a while longer, khun Noh?â Itâs good that he had just started! I throw the school bag to Phun and rush off to the garage right away.
âUncle Nhan! You donât need toâ!â
Splash!
I was too late. My motorcycle is now soaking wet thanks to the water hose that Uncle Nhan is holding. -_-â I wasnât able to get here in time. -_-â
âIâm sorry, khun Noh! I will finish this right away!â
âThatâs okay, Uncle. I should do this myself. You should probably go rest. Itâs pretty late.â I answer him while trying to take the hose from his hands but Uncle Nhan runs the other way. I take a look at my watch, it is way past 8 pm already. Iâm not a man if Iâm allowing this elderly person to wash my motorcycle at night with this cool wind blowing.
âI canât let you do that, khun Noh. This is my job.â Uncle Nhan yells from the other side of the motorcycle.
âCome on, Uncle. I wonât tell anybody. You should go rest. I do this myself often anyway.â I shout back at him.
âBut you are a guestâ¦â
âNoh and I will finish up ourselves. You should go rest, Uncle Nhan.â A third voice pops in from behind me. I donât need to turn around to find out who it belongs to. Who else can it be other than the eldest son of this house? I turn around and see Phun smiling. Itâs one of those smile you give when you are certain the other party wouldnât disobey you.
âAre you sure, khun Phun?â
âDefinitely. Just leave those things there. Noh and I will handle it.â Phun tells him before he walks over to take the hose from the uncleâs hands. He watches as the uncle walks away with his back hunches over, returning to the staffâs dwelling.
âHere, letâs do it.â He turns around and tells me with a hearty grin. I mockingly raise my brows at him in return.
âYoung master Phun, are you certain you can do this?â
âI see how it is, Noh.â He sprays the water at me. ########## him! Iâm soaked!
â ##########! Now Iâm all wet!
âThose are my clothes, why should you care?â He makes fun of me. But heâs right though. This is his uniform. I check my wet clothes before I turn back up to see Phun being busy with taking off his shirt. âYo!â
âWhy are you so startled? Do you expect me to wash your bike wearing my full uniform, khun Noh? Oh, so Iâm the one being unreasonable here? Fine, just take it off. I think to myself as I shake my head before removing my shirt too, but leaving on my undershirt. I figure itâd be too weird to walk around half-naked at someone elseâs garage. Itâs not like Iâm the owner of this place. He only has his blue shorts left on him now.
âHere we go!â
Phun yells out as he sprays the water all over the motorcycle. (Iâm slightly afraid that he might ruin my bike.) He doesnât forget to spray them at me too. (Iâm not a freaking bike!) But donât think that Iâd give in because I now hold another hose in my hands. Ahaha.
It is a fun atmosphere washing the motorcycle, even though itâs dark and mosquitoes are biting us. (A lot of mosquitoes.) Phun uses one of this old toothbrushes to scrub the pipes while I drench the shampoo all over the motorcycle. (And also a bit on him every once in a while.) Now that I think about it, I wasnât totally wrong when I thought of Phun as a rich heir to well-off family. (Noticeably, the huge mansion and the number of staff. Not to mention his parents setting up dates for him, this is like a movie plot from 20 years ago.) But heâs not stuck up or anything like that. He seems to work hard (by being a laborer) with helping me scrub those pipes. And heâs doing a good job too. I keep spraying the water and shampoo at him. I feel like this guy is quite dependable.
Itâs too bad that he picks on me so much!
âYo! Are you washing the bike or are you washing me?! Fucking hell!â Donât be surprised. The more we talk, the closer we get. Profanities continue to slip out between us. And why shouldnât I be cursing at him? It seems that 80% of time heâs trying to wash me and not the motorcycle. ########## him. Iâm wearing a tank top but it doesnât feel like Iâm wearing anything at this point. I can feel the chill all the way to my appendix.
âI was getting annoyed with you having that shirt on.â Am I supposed to willingly donate my blood to the mosquitoes? Itâs my blood!
I splash some more shampoo on him. âYou should finish taking the bath so that I can trim your fur afterwards.â His entire body is now covered in bubbles. I see the look on his face and it makes me burst out in laughter.
â ##########! I might get rashes now!
âThatâs your problem!â I shout back at him as I try to dodge the sponge that he throws my way. I couldnât dodge in time. Weâre both covered in car shampoo at this point.
If we go down, then weâll go down together.
It seems like he isnât going to give up either. He chases after me and tries to take my shirt off. I never knew that this capable Phun is this competitive. Itâs funny though. And as if heâd be able to catch me and strip my clothes! Not in this decade! =p I jump out of his reach.
We run around the motorcycle as the chase continues. He still canât catch me though. =p But the garage floor itself is slippery, not to mention all the water, the shampoo and who knows what else. Adding to that, I slip on the sponge that Phun threw at me earlier, (the one I wasnât able to dodge) so I lose my balance.
âAHHHHHHH!â I scream loudly, completely expecting to get hurt. What if I break my back and I gotta spend another night at this house?! (This is even more scary than spending a night at a hospital.)
âOw!â But the person who lets out a painful cry isnât me. I keep my eyes tightly shut, but I notice that Iâm not really in any kind of pain.
âHey! Why the hell did you act like a white knight?! Doesnât that hurt?!â I realize that the person who broke my fall from behind was the owner of this house. I canât help but scold him over it. He didnât have to be my knight in shining armor. I bet youâre in a lot of pain now, stupid khun Phun!
âWho the hell said I was saving you?! You were the one who fucking fell on me!â Oh, did I? Oops, sorry. My face reveals how embarrassed I really am as I try to get off of him. (Iâm currently soaking wet, you can wring me and itâd fill up buckets.) I donât think he realizes that heâs still holding my waist out of instinct.
But you know whatâs even more unbelievable though? Someone certainly has an impeccable timing.
PâPhun? PâNohâ¦?
***
The sound of my old motorcycle (however, newly washed) blasts through the dark street before it stops in front of my house as ordered. What a smooth stop, my chariot!
âThis is the one?â He asks me after he parked the motorcycle in front of the blue fence. This is the first time he has ever been here. Well, itâs not like my house is as big as a palace like his or anything. Sorry about it.
âYeah, this is the one. Sorry if it isnât that fancy, hahaha.â I decide to be sarcastic before I get off from the back of the motorcycle. Phun was the one who drove me here, per Pangâs instruction. Naturally, if he hadnât done this then Pang wouldnât have allowed me to leave. I wouldâve ended up spending another night with him. The insanity! If I were to spend another night, then he might as well come ask my parents for my hands in marriage. I got a mom and a dad too, ya know! (In my case, I call them Ma and Pa.)
You guys are probably wondering what happened after Phun and I fell on top of one another thanks to that darn sponge while we were washing my motorcycle. It probably isnât too hard to guess that nong Pang, the yaoi fangirl who is also known Phunâs little sister, saw us at that moment. (What a timing!) Iâm not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Well, I suppose itâs a good thing for Phun but it was a fucking horrible thing for me, ########## it! In the end, we ended up staring into each otherâs eyes while Pang dropped the towels and ran away screaming (happily).
It was hilarious though. Phun and I laughed our asses off on the ground at the garage (after I already rolled off of him!) We basically donated ourselves to be dirty rags and wiped the garage with our backs.
I watched the night sky (there werenât that many stars) from the (dirty) floor. It was beautiful and somehow it made me feel so relaxed.
âWhat are you talking about? I think your house looks really inviting.â He replies and completely distracts me who was daydreaming. (I almost forgot what we were talking about.) He helps me by pushing the motorcycle inside the house after I opened the big gate. Then I close the gate and open the smaller door for him so he can exit.
âOkay, get home safe. Iâm not dropping you off.â Because itâd be ridiculous if I do. Weâd end up just seeing each other off at our respective homes all night. He laughs at me before giving me a wave and leaves.
âOh, as for your clubâs budget.â Now heâs talking about something that totally has my attention. O.O
âIâm still trying, so youâll have to wait a bit. But I promise that youâll get it for sure.â Iâm just glad to hear that ^____^
I nod and smile at him in return. He waves goodbye before getting on a motorcycle for hire that happens to be passing by. Itâs been a chaotic day today, but it was fun too.
Being close with Phun is kind of nice.
