Chapter Eighteen

Alexis POV***

Being home was so refreshing, the days ran off quicker than I expected and before I knew it the first week was almost over of my sick leave,I spent every day with my mother helping her around the house and talking about everything, of course eventually she brought up my relationship status and I filled her in with vague details, mom was more accepting of my gay status even far more than my father. I was wrapped up in my thoughts at the supermarket getting stuff's for my mom,she had given me a list of things so I stood there paper in hand doing a mental check off of whatever I missed,I had my earphones on Lukas graham once I was seven years old blared loudly in my ears, I felt like someone was looking at me and I peered over my list making eye contact with none other than my ex Gracie (ugh remember earlier I stated she messed up), her eyes widened when she recognized that it was really me,I sighed, "just fucking great" I muttered mustering a small smile as she made her way hesitantly over to me her eyes locked on mine

*flashback*

"Why are you doing this Gracie please don't leave me" I sobbed hugging her tightly to my body,

"I'm so so sorry Alexis it's not you,its me,I need a family, I never meant to fall in love with a guy, it just happened,I don't love you anymore" she replied prying away from me

She walked away not looking back not once, she was serious, she was leaving me for a guy to have a family with him. My heart felt like it was being ripped to shreds as I watched my first love walking away from me.

*end of flashback*

"Alexis hi what are you doing here?" She asked hugging me giving me a slight squeeze,

"Umm Im from here remember?" I replied giving a small laugh and running my hand through my hair,her eyes followed my hand,

"I see you still like doing that,you do that whenever you are uncomfortable,flustered or got something to say" Gracie stated chuckling,she continued "you are looking good,how have you been?"

"I've been great just here visiting" I muttered wanting to leave feeling really uncomfortable, I saw a guy approaching us with a toddler in his arms, "honey there you are,we have been looking all over for you" throwing his arms around her waist the toddler cooed and lunged in her arms when he came face to face with her,I stared at them looking at how much the toddler was the splitting image of Gracie,who was this? The truth slapped me in the face a minute after the question popped in my mind,this must be the guy whom she dumped me for,was this their kid??? Waiitt was she pregnant all the time before she left me,I haven't been gone for that long, the realization of how bad she had done me had me chuckling and that turned into a full blown laughter, she looked at me curiously and the dude looked at me weirdly maybe wondering who the hell I was, pulling myself together I excused myself not making eye contact with her I stepped away heading to check out to pay for my items,I needed to get the hell out of here.

I pushed Gracie from my mind the minute I left and headed for home, my phone rang in the car and I grabbed it not looking at the callers Id and cursing as I swerved from a dog that had ran across the street,

"Hello" I answered and there was silence, getting annoyed "hello" I said again, still no answer looking at the caller Id I see that it was blocked,still no answer I disconnected and continued home my thoughts straying to jaimee wondering if she was OK, pulling in closer to home I stopped and parked behind my mom's car,smiling as the laughter floated from the house towards me but paused when I heard a familiar laughing, "no fucking way" I muttered walking up and heading inside the house, my brother pulled the door for me and I stepped in to see non other than Emily sitting in the couch with my mom, what the fuck!!! My mind screamed, how the hell did she find Me and why was she here, the questions flowed at me but I smiled not wanting to alert mom to my discomfort knowing she worries easily, "babeee oh my gosh I missed you"Emily gushed launching herself upwards in my arms, I almost lost my balance and trey took the bags from me,

"Emily hey, this is a surprise" I stated casually giving her a peck on the cheek, mom looked at us smiling then headed to the kitchen to help Trey unpack the bags,  I grabbed Emily's hand and pulled her outside heading towards the far side of the porch I sat her down on the chair there and looked at her,lowering my voice I spoke,

"What the fuck are you doing here?"my eyes narrowed and she avoided my gaze,clearing my throat I asked another question "how the fuck did you even know where to find me?" There still was no answer, "answer me!!!!" I whisper yelled and she jumped,her lips trembled and I stooped to meet her eyes lifting her chin trying to get her to meet my gaze,

"I missed you,I thought you missed me too I wanted to surprise you so I

Told Cara at work that I wanted to surprise you since you are not well,she has access to your files this address with your moms number was listed for emergencies" she whispered rushing her speech and keeping her gaze lowered. I sighed and rocked back looking at her intensely wondering if I believed her,

"Since when did you and Cara become that much of good friends?" I asked still not believing that emily was here,

"Well you have been gone for a week, Rita has been on vacation so I had lunch with her and our manager jaimee, they are pretty cool people" she stated and I rolled my eyes. I was annoyed at the fact Emily was here with my family, what made her think that I wanted her to meet my family and be here with us, she had to go I thought, I was ready to go home not wanting Emily to sleep here I decided we would make the trip back home before it gets late and then I'm going to break up with her before this gets any further , getting up I went inside heading towards my room, trey grabbed my arms pulling me in his room and shutting the door signaling for me to be quiet

"What's up with this chick, why is she here?" He whispered shaking his head

"I don't know man but I'm going home and I'm going to end this with her,the fuck she thinks this is showing up here uninvited" I hissed feeling annoyed extremely

" sucks you have to leave Lil sis but do what you gotta do and be careful please"

"I'll be back bro and I'm going to be OK" I replied giving him a squeeze and sliding from his room running smack into Emily, what the heck. She looked at me weirdly " heehey I'm looking for the bathroom" she stuttered and I narrowed my eyes shaking the odd feeling that came over me,going to my room for my things I went back out to let mom know I was leaving,

"Why you still have a few days left, and your girlfriend only just got here" mom asked and trish looked at me trying to read my expression but I stared back blankly

"Mom I'll be back just have some things to get sorted out its fine" I pulled her into a hug feeling sad that I'm leaving and hating Emily a bit for showing up uninvited and putting me in a state of discomfort. Ignoring my sister's stare I leaned giving her a small kiss whispering so only she could hear "trey will explain everything" she nodded and I pulled back smiling "take care of mom punk" I ruffled her hair and dodged her kick. Mom hugged Emily and they followed us to the car watching us get in and pulled away, I watched them in the mirror until I couldn't see them anymore missing them already.

The ride home was silent and tense,Emily huddled against the window and I wanted to scream at her, I cleared my throat

" we need to talk Emily" I looked over at her and she sighed,

"You showing up at my mom's place was unacceptable, I wasn't comfortable with you doing that" she didn't say anything so I continued,

"You are pretty cool, your company is awesome, but Emily this isn't working out I'm sorry." There still was no answer so I stayed silent and continued the drive home.

It wasn't until we got closer to home that she spoke " alexis I'm so so sorry I really am sorry, Im in love with you I just needed to see you" she sobbed and I started feeling a bit bad, I pulled over the car at a grocery store a bit close to home and turned to her, she was a mess crying and looking at me "I'm sorry Emily I really am" I whispered and I must have imagined it but I saw something so dark flashing in her eyes before I knew it she reached out and slapped me across the cheek "fuck you Alexis fuck you!!!!!" She yelled grabbing her bag and exiting the car,I stared after her watching her walk towards the grocery store pushing through angrily at the small crowd. I didn't want to leave her so I got out of the car trying to see what direction she went after she went through the crowd, I would have much rather to take her home than leave her here I wasn't a jerk. She was no where in sight the place was pretty busy and she seemed to have disappeared in the crowd, someone else caught my attention though it was jaimee with her hands linked with a guy,he was laughing at something that she said and she smiled back, he leaned forward and kissed her cheek and she in turn hugged him, I couldn't help looking at her, she had on a blue dress that clung to her showing her cleavage and her skin as it was sleeveless and pretty short,her breast was cupped up in the dress and my stomach tightened just looking at how fucking sexy she was, my eyes drank her in and she must have felt my gaze on her because she turned and met my stare full on,her eyes widened when she saw me and she smiled slightly.

Cara stepped up also beside the guy with a chick on her arms and he turned his attention to them,jaimee was still looking at me and I stared back feeling a smile forming slowly on my lips, I winked at her and she blushed dropping her gaze shyly, chuckling slightly I turned to go back into my car only for my gaze to land on Emily who stood there looking at me and then looking at jaimee,looking back at me she narrowed her eyes ,I nodded towards the car indicating for her to get in but she folded her arms and looked at me stubbornly so I marched over to her feeling myself getting upset,

"Get in the car" I gritted out between my teeth trying hard to not raise my voice

"Fuck no, oh so its not okay for me to show up at your moms place but its okay to stand here eye fucking our boss while she stands with her husband and friends!!!!!" Emily yelled causing a few persons to stare at us, I sighed

"You either get your ass in the fucking car or I'm going to leave you here!!" I yelled back not caring that persons were definitely staring at us now including jaimee and cara. Emily stood there arms folded and not moving,  "emily get in the car so I can take you home" but she still stood there looking at me tears flowing from her freely, feeling tired and annoyed I walked over to my car looked at her saw she really wasn't coming so I got in and pulled out speeding away needing a drink Now more than ever and not caring about the looks people gave me when I was leaving, they looked at me like I was the biggest jerk ever to be leaving my girlfriend there and I hated emily for making a scene,I hated drama. Continuing my drive home I turned my music up Sam Smith too good at goodbyes filled the car as I made my way home.
