CHAPTER: THIRTY ONE

Jamiee's POV*****

Alexis wasn't here as yet and I was worried sick, her calls kept going to voicemail, I was angry but I was also worried, when I saw her leave to go to her room I knew something was wrong so I went to find out but she shutted me out not telling me what's wrong and left,I was going after her but mark and Cara told me not to,saying maybe she needed some space and about her being young and possible easily bored, I felt bad,was I holding her back from having a good time,we have been cautious, we had to be we didn't know who was watching us, I was so used to putting on a show but I never once stopped to think about how Alexis might be feeling in this entire ordeal, I tried calling her several times but still was getting no answer, what if she went out to some bimbo to release her tension, I sighed at the thought trying to ignore the anger that was seeping through me,I didn't want to be angry at her I wanted to be understanding,I looked at the time it was 2am in the morning still no Alexis,the phone rang startling me from my thoughts,

"Hello,Alexis????" I said not even looking at the caller id but just needing it to be her,

"No I'm sorry its trey,I'm here at the hospital with the family..." I froze the rush in my head drowning out everything else that he said,

"Hey jaimee are you there?" I nodded stupidly forgetting its the phone that I am on,

"Yes I'm here,I'm sorry what happened trey" I held back a sob,

"There was an accident with alexis, can you get here?" I answered yes and got the address realizing it was pretty close to here,I thought she had gone home when I heard him say at the hospital with the family,I guess they were the ones who came here,I quickly dragged on one of Alexis shirt over my shorts and her slippers and ran out not bothering to check my hair or anything,I got in the car and drove off.

I was there in an hour and as I rushed in I could see the stares of persons who recognized me,I was well known but I didn't have the time to stop and think about persons and their views at this moment,trey had told me the room they were in and after getting direction from a security guard I rushed off to find it.

Getting there I paused as I saw alexis dad there, her sister Trish saw me and came over to hug me,her eyes filled with tears,I came closer ignoring the glare her dad shot me noticing the warning look Alexis mom shot him I stepped into the room my heart tearing up at the sight before me,Alexis had bandages around her head,her lower abdomen and one of her legs was wrapped with bandages as well,her face was badly bruised her lips swollen, her eyes closed. I went beside her tears flowing freely from my eyes blaming myself for not stopping her from leaving, I should have stopped her, I heard someone clearing their throat it was only then that i noticed the police officers in the room, briefly they explained to me what little they could get from Alexis as she drifted in and out of consciousness, apparently someone was in the car with her, there was a struggle, a shot was fired but it only grazed her leg, the car was hit by another vehicle as Alexis had somehow drifted in the wrong lane,they also advised me that when they got there Alexis was the only person in the car which means her attacker escaped,

"So a police officer will be at her door,only family and staff will be allowed In here,and you are?" The police officer who was finishing up the story asked me,

"I am her girlfriend" I told him sternly and he nodded taking my name pausing only briefly when he recognized it to look at me, I met his gaze and narrowed my eyes daring him to say something but he only averted his eyes from mine,cleared his throat and continued writing, there was silence until we all heard alexis groaning, I looked at her seeing her eyes taking their time to flutter open.

"Jaimee???" She whispered hoarsely and i took her hands in mine,

"I'm here baby I'm here" I could feel everyone looking at us,I know that this was going to come out eventually,the police officers and the doctors knew me,they knew mark after all he was a top lawyer and we made several public apperances,I cleared my mind, I will not worry about them as they did not matter at this moment, I sat on the bed beside her gingerly not wanting to hurt her,

"Water please I'm thirsty" she whispered, I looked at the doctor getting his approval, her sister latanya brought a cup of water to the bedside for her to drink and fed it to her slowly, the officer cleared his throat,

"I'm sorry ma'am I don't want to pressure you but we have some questions for you" he said coming up to the bedside,I glared at him and he shuffled on his feet uncomfortable, alexis nodded and cleared her throat wincing slightly I squeezed her hands to reassure her to let her know that I was here with her. She began to tell the officer about this person by the name of Christina, the ordeal she went through because of her,she told them about Brian Adams and what happened in the car,i couldn't hold back my tears when she mentioned of what he said he would do to me,I felt her sister hands on my shoulder and looked over to see her father's face looking disgusted as alexis continued her story, I glared at him, his daughter was here with a near death experience and he wants to stand here judging,the anger in me was boiling dangerously. Alexis squeezed my hands as if she sensed how tense I was getting, the officer thanked her and told her they will be doing further investigation, the doctor told us that visiting hours has ended and we had to leave but I shook my head,

"I'm not leaving" I told them sternly daring one of them to object to me but they didn't argue,trey came over to hug me,

"Are you guys going all the way back home?" I asked them,

"Yeah we are," Trish answered,I went into my pocket taking out Alexis's key and handing It to trey,

"You know where she lives, why not stay at her place" I told them warmly, but her dad interjected

"no thanks,we will go back home" I rolled my eyes but trey spoke up

"I'll stay at Alexis, latanya,Trish will you guys stay too?" They nodded yes and came to stand beside him, their mom cleared her throat

"Umm I'm staying too" she stated, I looked at her dad thinking he would object, he glared at them all,

"Fine I'm going home" he muttered walking out, I sighed. After hugging them and watching them bid alexis farewell then finally we were alone, I ran my hand through my hair and turnt to her meeting her gaze,

"Hey" I whispered, she smiled at me,

"You look great" she told me smirking at me in her shirt,

"And you look awful" I told her sighing as I went beside her on the bed,

"Babe I'm sorry" she whispered,

"Its fine,I'm just glad you are OK"I placed a kiss on her cheek, when I pulled back I could see the tears forming in her eyes,

"What's wrong?" I asked,

"Nothing, I'm just glad your okay" she tried pulling me in closer,

"Hey I don't want to hurt you" I tried pulling away but she held me surprisingly with strength,I tried positioning myself in a way that I would not press against her too much. After several attempts I was finally able to be comfortable beside her snuggled in her arms I felt her sigh contentedly and knew she was falling asleep..

"I love you" I whispered as I felt myself falling asleep as well in her arms.
