THIRTY: TWO

Jamiee's POV****

The third day after her accident there was an article published in the newspaper it was the headliner and mark called me to let me know what was happening, the article's headline stated successful lawyers wife jaimee Sullivan caught in lesbian affair. I rolled my eyes at the heading, annoyed that they would refer to me seeing Alexis as an affair, I was about to throw the paper away when I caught the part about mark making a statement, my eyes eagerly scanned the paper reading what mark's statement was,it said

" Sometimes things are not as good as they seem to be,my wife is a wonderful woman and a great friend she has been for years,she deserves to be happy and if being with a female makes her happy then who are you all to bash her?? I myself am not perfect as a husband,I have a child and another woman outside my relationship with my wife which she knows about, I also knew about her partner whom I also like and respect as an individual. We will be getting a divorce but we will always be in each others life's,we aren't obligated to explain everything to the public. Thank You."

I smiled when I was through reading his statement, my phone rang and I sighed when I looked at the caller Id, it was my mother, I answered placing the phone to my ears,

"Is it true?" She hissed at me

"Yes mother,it is. I am with a woman" I answered hearing silence on the other end,

"You will rot in hell, you are a failure and going forward I have no daughter!" She yelled disconnecting the call, her words stung but I held back the tears,I will not cry again because of her, I told myself sternly. Getting ready to leave my office I looked up as there was a knock at the door, it was Emily so I signaled her to come inside and she closed the door behind her,there was an awkward silence between us,

"I always knew" she whispered,I didn't answer so she continued,

"I saw how she looked at you,how you looked at her,I always knew" I still didn't answer,her voice trembled as she continued

" I only came here to tell you that I will be leaving,I cannot see you two together and be okay, so I'm resigning and moving, I wish you both the best" her eyes filled with tears I started to say something but she held up her hands stopping me,

"It's okay you don't have to say anything" she handed me her resignation letter and turned to leave, I called out to her and she paused briefly,

"I'm sorry" I whispered,she nodded and then left.

Two weeks later.

Alexis was being released from the hospital today,trey was taking her home, the police were yet to find Brian and I heard nothing from them Alexis was doing better her bruising were almost cleared up, swellings were gone,she was limping a little so her leg still was wrapped in bandages and  so was her lower abdomen but not her head,she had a gash on her forehead which they covered and gave her medication for but I'm glad she didn't have the entire bandage around her head anymore I hated seeing it.

Her mom and sisters were still at her place and I enjoyed their company,its like I lost one mother only to gain another,currently we were watching the flash and waiting for them to get here, I jumped when I heard trey pulling up to the driveway, ignoring the chuckles from her mom and sisters, I was at the door in a flash just as it swung open, I wanted to leap in her arms but I couldn't,she grinned when she saw me, and pulled me to her crushing her lips to mine, I got lost immediately into the kiss hugging her neck and trying to not hurt her anywhere,she broke our kiss and laid her forehead on mine,

"I missed you babe" she whispered,

"Hey guys,mom I smell your cooking damn it smells great" she grinned stepping inside and shuffling over to the couch to land on her sisters,I watched them laughing at their antics,trey joined them as well after closing the door and soon the small house was filled with laughter.

Later on alexis and I were alone in the couch as I filled her in about my mom,Mark's statement in the newspaper, I hesitated telling her about Emily but I did and she sighed. We talked a bit more and I knew she was getting tired so I watched her until she fell asleep, getting a comforter for her I covered her and was about to lay beside her when I felt her phone vibrating in her pocket, I took it out not wanting it to disturb her glancing briefly at the screen, it was a message from Christina,I remembered her mentioning a Christina at the hospital so I opened the message frowning as I read what was there,

Christina: I know I said it was just closure, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you since that night at the club, I want to taste you again, its already been over a week and I can't rid you from my mind.

I had to reread the message again, and again, like what the fuck.......
