Chapter 241
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Chapter 241 Chloe Has to Die
âI told you it was Calvin. How many times do you want to ask me that?â
Diego did not dare to expose Joseph because Joseph was not a kind man.
Joseph was cold, cruel, and resolute, and enjoyed a great reputation in the business field. Hence,
Diego could not afford to offend Joseph. After all, he was now in conflict with Calvin. It was
unnecessary to offend another person.
Karen knitted her brows. âCalvin adores Ava very much. Iâm sure he wonât say this kind of thing to the
others.â
âDoes he?â Diegoâs eyes were full of sarcasm. âDonât tell me Ava is his daughter.â
âDid Karen blackmail me to cheat me out of my money?â Diego felt that Karen was capable of such a
thing.
âCut the crap! I donât even know Calvin.â
âThen explain to me why heâs so nice to your daughter.â
Karen threatened him, âItâs none of your business. In short, I donât want anyone else other than us to
learn about our past relationship. If you expose it⦠Well, I donât mind taking Ava back to the Baileys
and letting her be reunited with her true family.â
Diego smacked the table fiercely. He was so angry that his beer belly was shaking. âYouâre shameless!â
The thing he regretted the most in his life was being tricked by Karen twenty years ago and sleeping
with her. She was most probably entangled with that fool Benjamin at
that time.
Karen did not care about his fury. She picked up the bag she just bought and left smugly like a noble
lady.
Diego did not linger there for long either. He left the cafe after Karen had walked far away, purposely
putting some distance between them.
Unexpectedly, that scene was snapped by a private detective who hid in the dark. He then sent the
photographs to his employer, and in less than five minutes, a large reward was deposited into his bank
account.
When Lucas received the photographs, he reported the incident to Joseph right away.
âEmail them to Benjamin anonymously.â
Lucas nodded and did as instructed.
Benjamin saw the photographs in his email before Karen got home. At a glance, he recognized that it
was Diego. When he was young, both he and Diego had been competitors. At last, he won and gained
the heart of the beautiful woman.
When he saw these photographs, he became quite ill at ease. He immediately called Karen to
interrogate her.
Karen had been around when she was young, and her skills had not faded with time. In just a few
words, she explained that she had met Diego by chance. Besides, they did not behave impudently in
the photographs, so Benjamin believed her.
After hanging up the phone, Karen felt that someone was secretly scheming against her, but she could
not figure out who it was. She simply asked Ava to try her best to make Summertainment hers.
Although it was a small company, its profits could reach 14 million
every year.
After Ava heard this, she drove over to meet Calvin. Surprisingly, Calvin agreed to it very
straightforwardly. He stroked Avaâs head and said kindly, âI have no children. All my properties will be
yours in the future. You can learn management with this small company
now. Itâs fine even if we make a loss.â
Incredulity washed over Ava. She curried favor with him coquettishly, âThank you, Godpa. Iâll never let
you down.â
The properties under Calvinâs name were a thousand times more than the Johnsonsâ. With these
properties, she would be the top noble lady in Aesper.
âThereâs a jewelry exhibition tomorrow. Hereâs the invitation card. Iâm heading back to Docwood, so you
can grab this chance to learn about jewelry during this period. Iâll then pick. you up and you can come
back to Docwood with me.â After a pause, Calvinâs face turned solemn. âYouâd better stop coming in
contact with Chloe. I know you hate her but itâs all in the past now. Your late mother would want you to
lead a better life. Itâs a waste of time to live in.
hatred.â
Shock dawned on Ava before she said tenderly, âGodpa, did you like Mom?â
Calvin recalled how Luciana looked when she was young. He soon felt melancholic. âAva, even if you
laugh at me, Iâm fine with it. I too grew up on Jade Street. I have liked your mother since. that time, but
unfortunately, she died young.â
Ava clenched her fists tightly and suppressed the billowing emotions in her heart. The pain in her palms
helped to force out some tears. She cried sincerely and commented, âMomâ¦Mom was dealt a difficult
hand.â
She made up her mind after she came out of Calvinâs residence. She could not allow Chloe to survive.
Once Chloe was dead, her status would not be affected.
