Chapter 242
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Chapter 242 Jojoâs Food Will Become Mine
The next day, Chloe visited Xavia at the hospital with some fruits.
Xavia looked behind Chloe. âJoeâs not here?â
âHeâs busy with work.â
Disappointment flashed across Xaviaâs face. âYeah, thatâs true.â
Chloe secretly observed Xaviaâs expression.
Xavia then took the initiative to raise a topic and chatted with Chloe for a while. Before Chloe left, she
suggested going to the villa to see Oreo for a day or two.
Chloe agreed. âSure, but Jojo and I have an exhibition to attend tonight. We may get home a
bit late.â
Xaviaâs eyes lit up, hiding the scheme behind them. âI see. What time will you guys come
home?â
Chloe made a rough estimate. âI think around nine.â Before leaving, she stared at Xavia and
questioned, âDid you deliver breakfast to Joseph a few days ago?â
âUmm, please donât misunderstand⦠I just went there to see Oreo and bought it for Joe along the
way.â
Chloe smiled sweetly and teased Xavia, âNo misunderstanding here. I just wanted you to buy some for
me too next time if you want to get breakfast. Otherwise, Jojoâs breakfast will become mine. Wouldnât
that be a waste of your kind intentions?â
Xavia was struck speechless.
Chloe then left without waiting for Xaviaâs response. She would keep Xaviaâs sacrifices in
mind, but she would always be vigilant toward her boyfriendâs ex.
Chloe went out during her lunch break. When she returned to the office, she bumped into Sophia, who
was getting coffee downstairs.
âMs. Chloe, do you know what kind of coffee Mr. Joseph likes? I want to get him a cup.â
Chloe asked, âDo you really want to pursue him?â
Sophia replied seriously, âOf course. Mr. Joseph is a bachelor with exceptionally high qualities. Iâll never
meet another guy as good as him, so I have to grab this chance.â
Chloe became slightly helpless. âHe has a girlfriend. Donât waste your time on him.â
But Sophia did not believe Chloe. âI donât believe that. Everyone says heâs single.â
âHave you ever asked him?â
âNoâ¦â
âAsk him if you get the chance.â
âYou know him so well, Ms. Chloe. Donât tell me youâre his girlfriend.â
Sophia switched the conversation to another topic and stared straight at her.
Chloe met her gaze. For a moment, she felt guilty. She even felt that Sophia might know something but
soon regained her wits and replied calmly, âDonât make jokes about this kind. of thing so casually. Other
colleagues may easily get the wrong idea if they hear this.â
Sophia chuckled and joked, âGot it. But Ms. Chloe, you wonât stop me from pursuing him if youâre not
his girlfriend, right?â
Chloe blinked mischievously. âOf course, I wonât. But you have to consider if youâre capable or
not.â
Sophia did not feel embarrassed. Similarly, she behaved mischievously and stuck out her tongue.
âWell, weâll see about that.â
She would not have had the chance to get into Fairlight if not for the woman she had met while
interviewing for a job here. That woman wrapped herself up in thick clothes, so Sophia had not seen
her face. But after some serious observation, she noticed that the womanâs arm was injured.
The woman told her that she would be given a large reward as long as she complied. Other than that,
the woman would also help her become the head of the marketing department.
The idea suggested by the woman was asking her to pretend to be pursuing Joseph and to ignore
everything else. She would even compensate Sophia if she was fired.
Of course, Sophia found that a great offer and accepted the womanâs money. Now, she roughly got the
picture-the woman wanted her to sow discord between Chloe and Joseph.
Sophia was thus enlightened, guessing that the relationship between Chloe and Joseph must be
extraordinary.
Holding the cup of coffee, Sophia went to Joseph. When she came back, the coffee was gone, albeit
her expression was slightly worse for wear.
Chloe frowned and parted her lips. But before she could speak up, another colleague beat her to it and
asked like a busybody, âD*mn, Fia! Did Mr. Joseph accept the coffee you bought him?
Shyness was written all over Sophiaâs face, but she neither admitted nor denied it.
