Chapter 393
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Chapter 393 Are You an Idiot? Iâm Worried About You!
Josephâs anger transformed into a mocking smile, his lips curling with derision. âYes, of course. Iâm your
senior.â
Noahâs expression stiffened, and he remained silent.
âWhatâs the relationship between Ava and Calvin?â Joseph asked, his eyes seemingly capable of
peering into the depths of all things.
Noah found this amusing and said, âIf you want to know, why donât you ask Calvin directly? What does
it have to do with me?â
âWhether itâs Calvin, Ava, or even you, or perhaps the Sullivans, there must be a definite connection,â
Joseph said, his tone brimming with certainty.
Setting his jaw tightly, Noah replied, âThen go ahead and investigate.â
Josephâs smile turned enigmatic, and a glimmer of confidence flickered across his handsome face. âI
will.â
He realized that Noah was hiding something and that this situation was more complex than it seemed.
It was crucial to conduct an investigation and warn Chloe. After all, a polished facade could be
misleading, and he suspected that Noah might have ulterior motives for getting close to her.
After Noah left, Joseph came.
Chloe felt a sense of unease. âDoes Joseph also know about my pregnancy?â The calmness she had
just regained was suddenly replaced with inexplicable anxiety as the thought surfaced in
her mind.
âYou went to the station this morning?â Joseph sat on Chloeâs chair, casually crossing his long, slender
legs. His gaze swept over her with a chilling and oppressive aura.
Upon hearing the question, Chloe tensed up. âTyson must have told him. Since theyâre relatives, it
made sense that Tyson would tell him about it.â
Josephâs displeasure grew as she seemed lost in thought. He barked coldly, âSpeak up.â
âSince you already know, why are you asking me?â Chloe replied.
Josephâs gaze fixed on her. âIs there really something wrong with your health?â
Lucas had gone to the station, but Tyson refused to disclose anything. Joseph did not know why Tyson
refused to give him Chloeâs blood report, and his initial reaction was that something had happened to
her. He immediately canceled his afternoon meetings and hurried here.
Chloe hesitated for a moment. âYou donât know?â
âIf I knew, why would I ask you?â Josephâs gaze remained fixed on her.
âIâ¦Iâm fine. Just a little anemic, nothing serious.â
âIs that so?â
She dared not meet his gaze and forced herself to appear calm. âYes. What sick person would have a
complexion as good as mine?â
Joseph looked at her, asserting his dominance. âWhether or not youâre sick is for the doctors to
determine. Letâs go to the hospital for a check-up.â
âNo! I have a lot of work to do. Why would I go to the hospital for no reason? You should go and take
care of Xavia. Sheâs having pregnancy complications.â Chloeâs voice suddenly grew louder, her body
tensed as every hair stood on end, resembling a vigilant hedgehog on defense.
He suspected that she had been involved with someone else before, and it would be natural for him to
deduce that this child was not his. She was worried that he would force her to abort the child. Besides,
even if he believed it was his, what would happen in the future? Compete with Xavia for his affection?
She did not want that nauseating kind of life.
âChloe!â Josephâs pitch-black eyes flickered with wounded emotions. Abandoning all his pride, he said
his next words earnestly, âAre you an idiot? Iâm worried about you.â
Chloeâs heart trembled upon hearing those words, and she was tongue-tied. She acknowledged that
she was no saint, and even at this moment, she could not fully detach herself from the man standing
before her. Yet, he was not the sole focus of her existence. She refused to orbit around him as if he
were the sun, holding the center of her universe.
After calming herself, self-mockery filled Chloeâs heart. She raised her head and looked at Joseph
defiantly, âWorried about me? Can you handle two women?â
She was certain that Xavia had said the same thing before.
Joseph met her mockery-filled gaze, and suddenly all emotions vanished. Had he ever spoken so
genuinely to a woman before? She was the first one, yet she was behaving ungrateful.
He regained his indifferent demeanor. His thin lips curved in a cold and chilling smile as he said,
âIndeed, I canât.â
