Warmth soon crept up his aloof gaze. He touched her head. “You’ll be the driver. I’ll take the passenger

seat.”

Chloe gaped. “Are we heading to the jewelry show like that? It’ll take half an hour to get there. Do you

trust me that much? Aren’t you afraid of an accident and getting killed?”

Joseph got into the car and leaned backward languidly. “I belong to you. Naturally, my life is yours as

well.”

“Did Nathan teach you that line?”
