Chapter 495
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Chapter 496 I Swear Cliche Situation Like This Wonât Happen
Chloe was stunned but smiled and said, âAre you sure you didnât mistake him for someone else?â
âNo, I donât think so. Although we didnât greet each other since we were far apart, I saw his car in the
parking lot.â Noahâs eyes flickered with an unusual glint. âDidnât Mr. Joseph say anything to you?â
Chloe looked embarrassed. âNo, he didnât say anything.â
Noahâs lips curled into an almost imperceptible smile. âDonât be too upset, Coco. Maybe Mr. Joseph
has his reasons for not telling you. Find an opportunity to talk to him. Everything will be fine.
âSigh, Iâd never let such a cliched situation happen if I had a girlfriend. Iâd treat her well and never let
her suffer from jealousy. However, I can understand that accidents are beyond our control. Still, love
should only involve two people. Having a third person involved is hard to
stomach.â
The last sentence felt like tiny grains of sand, causing Chloeâs whole being to ache. Doubt, grievance,
and disappointment were emotions that clogged her throat, rendering her speechless.
âJoseph told me he was going to Fairlight an hour ago, so how did he suddenly end up at the hospital
with Xavia? Is he there to accompany her for a prenatal check-up? Did he not tell me about it because
he was worried Iâd be upset?â
She unconsciously touched her stomach and felt a bitter pang filling her.
âDo you want to go to the hospital? Iâm heading to the library nearby, so I can take you there.â Noah
offered in a friendly manner.
Chloe clenched her teeth and replied, âSure.â
âInstead of speculating mindlessly, itâs best to face it head-on and ask them for an explanation.â
Noah drove his white Maybach onward, maintaining a steady and unhurried
pace.
Chloe looked out of the window at the scenery. The more she thought about it, the more she felt
Joseph had no reason to lie. He had only found out yesterday that his mother was still alive, so she
was confident he would not have had the time to entertain Xavia.
âEven if it was an unexpected situation, he should have at least informed me, right? Could he not even
spare a moment to text me?â
While appearing focused on driving, Noah discreetly observed Chloeâs emotions from the corner of his
eyes. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed and relaxed alternatively while her face
tensed as if she was lost in profound contemplation.
âYouâre almost three months pregnant now, right? Donât you plan to tell Mr. Joseph?â Noah asked.
Chloe lowered her head. âI want to wait for the results of Xaviaâs amniocentesis.â
He tilted his head, gazing at her profile. âWhat about after the results?â
âIf itâs Josephâs child, Iâll break up with him.â
âIf Joseph finds out youâre pregnant, he wonât let you go so easily,â Noah said resolutely.
âI wonât let him know that Iâm pregnant.â
âYou know you canât keep him in the dark forever.â
âMy office is collaborating with Mr. Hugo on a new project, and they need someone to oversee it in
Estre. I can apply to go there.â
As for the Johnson Group, she would do something about it. A few short months would not be a
problem for remote management, especially considering the office had recently taken on very few
external projects.
âA new project with Mr. Hugo?â Noah asked in surprise, âAre you talking about Arcane Grove
Ventures?â
âYes. You know about it too?â
âYes, Joseph has joined that project too. Even if you go abroad, it might be difficult to avoid interaction,â
Noah remarked.
Chloeâs eyes widened slightly, her thoughts becoming jumbled. âJoseph is a part of it, too?â
âYou didnât know?â Understanding dawned upon Noah as he continued hesitantly, âNathan and Joseph
are friends. Did Joseph inform his father, and thatâs how you got involved?
âOf course, I donât doubt your abilities, but your officeâs line of business doesnât align with real estate
development, so itâs not on par with the Reese Groupâs MO.â
