Chloe was stunned. She thought her ears or her brain were malfunctioning as she asked in disbelief,

“100 thousand dollars?”

“Yes, 100 thousand.”

“You’re not worth such a price.”

‘She really should’ve thought it over before putting the bite on me,’ Chloe thought.

“I assure you that I’m definitely worth it,” Hazel replied resolutely.

Chloe raised an eyebrow. “Give me a reason.”

“It’ll save you a lot of trouble if I don’t join Fairlight. The moment my face appears there, you’ll feel a

sense of crisis,” Hazel responded with full confidence.

waste any more time on Hazel.

“I don’t know her name, but I can describe her appearance. But before that, you have to give me 100

thousand dollars.”

“How can I trust that you’re not just deceiving me?” Chloe retorted.

“I recorded the conversation,” Hazel declared with determination.

Chloe was taken aback for a moment. “What do you need the money for?”

Hazel’s eyes filled with sadness and resentment as she said, “I wish to leave my family. They bully me,

and I need to find a place where nobody knows me and start a new life.”

“Who bullies you?” Chloe asked.

“My brother and father. There isn’t a single good soul in the Cottrells.” Hazel wanted to point her finger

at Chloe, but considering the upcoming collaboration, she changed her focus.
