Chapter 693 He Had Never Truly Let Go of Her

Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love

Seeing that Joseph made no move to leave, she smiled sarcastically. "Have you had your fill?"

A hint of desire flashed through his eyes as he turned away. "Change and come downstairs."

"For what?”

"Xavia’s downstairs."

Chloe raised an eyebrow, the teasing evident on her face. "Duly noted."

Today was Exotic Star's board meeting, and Desmond and Noah were still at the office. Chloe was

unsure when they would get back. If she ran into them dressed like this, it would be an awkward

encounter. Indeed, she should change.

During the wait, Joseph's mind filled with images of Chloe's alluring figure. He had never truly let go

of her. The temptation was strong, and it left his typically cold and charming face looking somewhat

absent-minded.

Xavia tried to speak to him several times but failed to elicit a response from him. Seeing him in such

a bewitched state, she clenched her fists in anger. She should have come here alone to resolve

things so as to avoid increasing the chances of Joseph and Chloe running into each other.

Chloe casually put on a bathrobe and lazily made her way downstairs. She sat languidly in a wide

teakwood chair and said indifferently, "Let's get started."

Even though Xavia had countless objections, she had no choice but to lower her head. "My friend

Megan accidentally hit you earlier, Ms. Chloe. I’d like to apologize on her behalf."

Upon hearing this, Joseph's brows furrowed deeply.

Chloe sneered. "Your friend? But what I saw was clearly your silhouette." As she spoke, she

brought up the photos on her phone and compared them to Xavia's face, pretending to be puzzled.

"Height, figure... Ah, even the shoes are the same."

Xavia turned pale and felt her legs shake. She held onto the edge of the table as if she were the

victim. "The shoes were a gift from Megan. She has a pair herself. I came here sincerely to seek

your forgiveness on Megan’s behalf. There's no need to assume the worst of everyone."

"Okay, fine, I accept your apology." Chloe surprisingly did not give Xavia a hard time. She waved as

if dismissing an unimportant person, "You may leave now. I want to sleep."

Chloe was not a magnanimous person, but now was not the best time to settle scores. In two days,

a certain someone would be having a concert. That would be the perfect time to execute her plans.

Xavia was just getting started with the tears, not expecting the whole ordeal to be over so quickly.

She looked a little dazed as she stared at Chloe.

Joseph pondered for a few seconds and said seriously, "If you have any requests, you can make

them. But Xavia is Jas’ mother, so let's not blow this out of proportion and burden the child."

"Wow, you actually remember that she's a mother." Chloe could not help defending Jasper. "Has

she ever cared about her child? Do you guys even know if Jasper is happy at school?"

"I do know. Jas is doing well in his studies and gets along with his classmates. These are personal

matters you have no right to inquire about."

Xavia became agitated when Jasper was mentioned. Upon closer inspection, one would detect the

guilt and fear in her eyes. She was afraid that the secret would be exposed.

"You're right. I have no right to interfere. It's time for you to go. I won't see you out." Chloe stared

straight at Joseph. After pausing for a moment, she took a deep breath and continued, "Whether it's

adults or children, outstanding individuals will always face jealousy from those around them."

As soon as Chloe blurted out these words that were weighing on her, she immediately regretted it.

She did not know what had come over her. Though the child belonged to someone else, she cared

deeply for him.

"It's normal for children to be rowdy. You don’t have to worry about it, Joe. Jas is a role model

among his peers, and I’m well aware of his situation at school," Xavia said calmly, contradicting

Chloe and implying that she was making a big deal out of nothing.

"Is that so?" Joseph remained expressionless, but his serene and unfathomable eyes seemed to

see through everyone’s thoughts, sending shivers down one's spine.

Xavia forced herself to appear composed. "Of course, I've asked the teachers in private many

times."

Upon exiting the Sullivan manor, they encountered Noah returning from the office. His gaze fell on

Joseph and Xavia, and his pupils contracted. He quickly approached them and questioned, "What

brings you here so late at night, Mr. Joseph?"
