Chapter 698 He Might Go After Chloe

Noah craned his neck to look at her phone. "Joseph?"

Chloe rejected the call and said, "Yeah. Who else would be so concerned about Xavia?"

Chuckling, Noah continued, "He won't give up so easily."

In the next second, Chloe's phone rang again. It was the same number. She did not answer, nor did

she block his number. While Xavia had messed with her relationship, the person who truly

disappointed her was Joseph. Though she could not do anything to him, she would strive to make

his life a living hell.

In a private lounge, Samuel scrolled through the news on his phone and laughed uproariously.

"Hahahaha, this is comedy gold. Look at Xavia. She’s as pale as a corpse."

Nathan chuckled. "Yeah, this is the first time I've seen her lose her composure like this. Chloe really

went all out this time. She has a different vibe about her now.”

Chloe was incapable of such ruthlessness in the past.

Stroking his chin, Samuel nodded in agreement. "She cut her long hair short. But Joe, it's better to

find a way to suppress this news. It may not affect you much, but Jas is just a child. He might be

overwhelmed when he reads the comments. After all, Xavia is still his mother. Seeing these photos

of her might make him react impulsively and go after Chloe."

Joseph raised his head and said, "Jas has never told anyone that Xavia is his mother."

Samuel fell silent for a moment before saying, "That's different. Even if he doesn't acknowledge

Xavia, it doesn't change the fact that she’s his mother and people might use that against him."

Being a lawyer, he had a keen understanding of the darker aspects of human nature. People in

positions of power were particularly vulnerable. Every action they took could be exploited by those

"I know what I'm doing," Joseph replied, "How would this behavior be treated legally?"

"It depends on how we handle the situation. But even if someone sued Chloe over this, she'll

probably come out of it unscathed. She has the Sullivans at her back and Noah is involved as well.

They won't leave her hanging."

When Joseph heard Noah's name, his face sank.

Nathan thought of something and interrupted, "How’s Harold?"

"He hasn't woken up yet."

"What about those people?"

"There have been a few suspicious people spotted near the family house recently."

"Are they from the Duskfall?"

"Probably."

“Then can we confirm that Duskfall was behind what happened?" Nathan concluded.

"Yes." Joseph furrowed his brow and replied, "We’ve already found out the identities of the people

who visited The Whispering Willow. They aren’t from Duskfall, but Duskfall did interfere several

times during the investigation. Moreover, there are two individuals who are quite suspicious."

"Two?" Samuel asked, "Who?"

"Xavia and Noah's assistant."

It was clear to him that Xavia and Eustace had been up to something in the room. However, he did

not care about what it was. He just needed concrete evidence.

Samuel was surprised but soon regained his composure and said disdainfully, "Xavia hasn't

changed."

She felt lonely after failing to capture Joseph's attention, so she flirted with someone else.
