Chapter 705 If Xavia Doesn’t Like Him, He’ll Eliminate Her

Rubbing his eyes, Jasper sat up and asked, "Daddy, are you going to find Ms. Chloe?"

Joseph froze for a moment and asked, "Why do you say that?"

"I saw photos of her and another man on my phone. The news said she's getting engaged."

Joseph fell silent for a few seconds.

With a serious expression, Jasper cupped his chin. "If she really liked the other guy, she would’ve

married him a year or two after knowing him. It's been five years now, so I don’t think Ms. Chloe

likes that man all that much."

Stopping the car, Joseph turned to look at his son. "And how do you know all this?"

Joseph knew Jasper had the habit of putting all his effort and energy into something that he was

interested in. He began to wonder if Jasper had a crush on a little girl at school. Even though he

was more mature than his peers, romance and relationships were not things a child his age should

know about.

"There's nothing I don't understand. In this day and age, there's so much information available. If

one reads books, newspapers, or even the stuff online, it's hard not to know these things," Jasper

explained matter-of-factly.

The 21st century was filled with a constant flow of new information, and everyone was forced to

keep up with it.

Joseph sighed as he suddenly realized that if Jasper were to become mischievous, Jasper would

be harder to handle than he had been at Jasper’s age.

"Daddy, you have to try your best. Do everything you can to not feel regret for a second time. But

you also need to change your bad habits. Whatever caused Ms. Chloe to leave you back then, you

can't make the same mistakes now," Jasper urged.

"Do you really want her to be your stepmother?"

"Why not? It'd be difficult to find someone who dislikes me more than my own mother. If they didn’t

know, outsiders would think I was adopted." Jasper shrugged nonchalantly.

Jasper had a say in this family. Since Xavia did not like him, he was determined to kick her out of

his family.

Joseph's brows furrowed and fell into a pensive silence.

Jasper misunderstood his silence and said, "Daddy, relax. There's no law saying you can't pursue a

woman who's already engaged. At most, it's just not morally decent. But your reputation isn't that

great, so let's not worry about the details."

Joseph was speechless upon hearing Jasper's comment about him.

The next morning, Joseph arrived at Exotic Star at 7 in the morning. He often appeared on financial

talk shows, so the receptionist recognized him. He did not disclose his true purpose and simply

mentioned that he wanted to discuss business. The receptionist was a fresh graduate and failed to

see through his intentions, thus respectfully escorted him to Chloe's office.

At 9, Chloe stepped into the building. She had a restless night filled with nightmares and was not

feeling so great. Little did she know that a father and son had set their eyes on her.

"Ms. Chloe, you have an important guest waiting for you in your office."

"An important guest?" Chloe asked in confusion. She did not recall having any appointments today.

"Yes, you should hurry and meet him."

Not wanting to appear disheveled, Chloe decided to apply some lipstick. As soon as she pushed

open her office door, she was dumbfounded. Joseph was sitting in her chair, dressed in a simple

white shirt and black trousers that made him look professional.

He looked up at her, who was in a daze, and emotions surged within him. "Coco…"

"What did you just call me? Don’t get comfy with me.” Chloe frowned, feeling nauseating.

Joseph knew she was angry, so he cut to the chase and explained, "Do you still remember the

woman with the fox mask?"

Chloe hesitated for a moment and said, "Yeah. What about her?"

"I have a recording here. I’d like for you to listen to it," Joseph said.

He had recorded the conversation he had with Vanya yesterday. As he pressed the play button,

their voices filled the office.
