Chapter 713 He Never Said It, but He Thought It
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Chloe had just parked when Joseph came out. Their eyes met. His eyes fixed on Chloe as she got
out of the car and walked toward him. He was one head taller than her, but her demeanor was no
less imposing than Joseph's after five years of improving herself.
She looked up at him and said calmly, "I'm here to see Grandpa, and to ask you something about
the resort."
It was just as Joseph had anticipated. He smiled cunningly as if he had gotten what he wanted.
"Why, of course. Please, come in."
Annoyed with his smug look, she coldly averted her gaze and followed him to the living room.
Jasper's black eyes lit up when he saw her. "Daddy, I was the one who invited Ms. Chloe."
"I figured. What reward would you like?"
Jasper pondered over the matter and answered solemnly, "I want a mother who loves me."
He had more than enough money and toys. In comparison to other children, the only one he lacked
was a loving mother.
Joseph pouted, then ruffled Jasper's hair. "Okay, you'll get a mother who loves you. I'll work hard for
it."
Chloe stayed by Harold's bed for half an hour. Upon seeing that he showed no signs of waking up
just yet, she decided to discuss things with Joseph first. On her way to the study, Jasper ran out of
his bedroom and blocked her path.
He said pitifully, "Ms. Chloe, I'm starving."
"Go and get something to eat then. There are plenty of helpers around to cook you something."
"I want to try your cooking. Daddy told me that your cookingâs great. He claims youâre even better
than the chefs in five-star restaurants," Jasper praised. He looked at her firmly, so he came off as
very convincing.
Chloe cocked an eyebrow. "Really now? He never said such words to me."
"He may never have said them out loud, but he had always thought so in his heart."
She was rendered speechless.
For some strange reason, Chloe did not think this child had a glib tongue. On the contrary, she
thought that he had high emotional intelligence. He would be greatly favored in the future, unlike
Joseph who had a vicious tongue. And even more surprisingly, she felt very gratified about this.
Jasper then recalled how his classmates had acted coyly with their mothers. He then copied them
and hugged Chloe's arm, swaying it gently. A pleading look crept up his cool face, and his eyes
even turned watery.
Chloe looked down at the child who was pretending to be pitiful. She said exasperatedly, "Fine, I'll
cook for you. But itâll just be pasta. I won't make any complicated dishes."
Jasper smiled broadly. He said in a childish and loud voice, "Yahoo! You're the best, Ms. Chloe!"
The Whitman family home had not changed much, and in less than fifteen minutes, Chloe managed
to cook up a plate of sausage pasta. Joseph detected the delicious scent from his room. When got
to the dining room, he saw his son eating a plate of pasta as Chloe sat beside him, exuding a
motherly aura.
Joseph's eyes lit up. Strangely, he found the scene harmonious. This was what they should be like.
Chloe was his woman, and they were a family. Noah was just a nobody who should stay far away.
As he ate Jasper glanced at Joseph and said nonchalantly, âOh, hey, Dad.â
Joseph grunted in reply before peering into the kitchen. Unfortunately, he did not see any extra
pasta. Chloe had only cooked one portion. Joseph had not had dinner, so he was hungry too. When
he saw that Jasper had eaten half the plate, he firmly stated, "You shouldnât eat anymore. It's not
good to overeat."
"But I'm not full yet..."
"Kids should only eat until half full."
"Do you want some pasta too, Daddy?"
