Chapter 717 How Did She Falsify the Paternity Test
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Harold opened his mouth, but then closed it and decided not to broach the topic in front of Jasper.
"Jasper, could you ask the chef to cook me some oatmeal please?"
"Okay, Greatpapi." Jasper was more than happy to take care of his great-grandfather who had just
woken up. He sped down the stairs to look for the chef.
Chloe knew that Harold was deliberately waiting for everyone to leave. She asked anxiously,
"Should I close the door?"
"Yes."
She nodded and got up to shut the door. "Go ahead, Grandpa."
A tangled web of memories washed over him, making his head hurt. For a moment, he did not know
where to begin. Upon noticing her short hair, he felt sorry for Chloe. "You mustâve suffered a lot
alone for the past few years."
Chloe chuckled. "No, I didnât. I made lots of friends while abroad. My best friend, Emily, was there
with me too. I had a great time."
"Then why did you cut your hair?"
She paused for a moment before answering calmly, "My hair was burned in the fire. It was hideous,
so I cut it. It doesnât matter, many hairstyles fit me just fine."
Harold then realized that the fire had left Chloe scarred. Joseph really was a bastard. How could he
trust others so easily and wrong Chloe so greatly? He was brilliant in doing business but a fool in
matters of love.
"Grandpa?" Chloe probed.
Harold composed himself and said emotionally, "Chloe, that bastard and Xavia are innocent. Jasper
isn't their child."
A little taken aback, she replied, "I understand, Grandpa, but it's over between me and Joseph. It's
been so many years, and I have a new life now..."
"I'm not trying to comfort you or trick you into rejoining my family. Iâm saying Xavia conceived Jasper
after sleeping with another man. Given what had happened to Joseph that night, I suspect that
everything was a setup.â
Based on Joseph's statement, he only slept with Xavia once. And according to Xaviaâs own words,
Harold could confirm that Jasper was not Joseph's child, though he wondered how she had falsified
the paternity test.
Chloe stared at Harold in shock. "What are you saying, Grandpa?"
"I know a lot more than you guys. I'll ask Joseph to take Jasper for another paternity test."
Harold had planned on exposing Xavia the moment he woke up but failed to do so when he met the
extremely sensible Jasper and looked into the childâs pure eyes. He just could not bring himself to
say it.
Strangely, Jasper resembled Joseph's younger self. Was it just a coincidence? But that did not
make sense. There was something questionable about the whole affair. Had Joseph lied about
sleeping with Xavia more than once or was Xavia lying?
Chloe did not believe that Xavia could pull off such a huge deception. After a slight pause, she
asked, "Could there be a spy around Joseph? I have a feeling that Xavia has something to do with
Duskfall."
Harold frowned. "Duskfall is dangerous. Do not go near them, let alone investigate them, do you
hear me?"
"Yes, I hear you. I'm not that brave either." Chloe had just regained her peaceful days and did not
wish to court trouble. She then recalled something. "Grandpa, if you remember everything, do you
remember who knocked you out?"
