Chapter 722 The Prince and the Pauper

Chloe’s neck stiffened. She then looked up at Noah, but he appeared gentle and harmless. Maybe

they were so close to each other, she felt like running away. She turned and looked at the phone.

Luckily, the photos on the Internet were vague. Besides, she had stayed in the car, so most of the

scenes featured only Megan.

She inwardly heaved a sigh of relief. After she confirmed that Noah was his usual self, she

immediately changed the topic. "Michael's video will be posted tomorrow. If the feedback is good,

we can invite him for a live show."

"Forget the live show," Noah said.

"Why?"

"We have far more suitable candidates for that. Michael just isn’t cut out for it."

Chloe simply nodded and did not ask further. She trusted his judgment.

Desmond looked at the pair and cleared his throat. "Let's not talk about work while at the dinner

table."

"Okay, Grandpa," Chloe agreed obediently. She then asked, "Grandpa, do you know a person

called Felix Pierce?"

"Felix Pierce?" Desmond had a vague impression of him. "I believe he’s a confidante of the royal

family and came to Exotic Star’s exhibitions several times."

"I see."

"Something the matter?"

Chloe glanced at Noah. He nodded and indicated that she could broach the topic.

She dwelled on it for a long time. "It seems that my mother knew him, and their relationship wasn't

simple. Benjamin claims that my mother slept with another man."

Desmond was old, but he could still think fast. He quickly understood what she meant. He then

chuckled. "I think you’ve misunderstood something. Felix’s body isn’t working right."

"His body isn’t right?"

"I went for a check-up many years ago and bumped into him at the hospital. I accidentally saw his

diagnosis tests." After some slight hesitation, he explained, "It's very difficult for him to produce a

child."

It had been a private hospital that served VIPs. The doctors there were very warm, and Felix’s

attending doctor had consoled Felix for a long time. Hence, Desmond still remembered that incident

to this day.

Chloe frowned. "Are you sure, Grandpa?"

Felix was infertile? Then how did Chloe come along?

"100 percent positive. Felix wouldn't have anything to do with your mother," Desmond concluded.

Chloe and Noah became suspicious. Did something go wrong in their investigation? But Felix had

admitted to it.

Chloe lost her appetite. Confused, she retired to the bedroom.

Noah lost his appetite too. He decided to investigate the matter again.

The next day, Lucas walked into the Whitman family home and handed a report to Joseph. "Sir, the

results of the paternity test are out."

Joseph took the file. After a brief silence, he opened it. He ignored the dense data and analysis and

went straight to the final results. His gloomy eyes filled with disbelief before a sense of cold

engulfed him.

Jasper was his son, so why was Harold claiming that Xavia had an affair with another man? He had

only slept with Xavia once in the last five years, and he remembered it vividly. It was like he could

not hold himself back or bear to part with her. But after that, he never touched her again.

Joseph drummed his fingers on the table, pondering over something. He then brought the report to

Harold. As Harold read it, Joseph was attracted to The Prince and the Pauper playing on the TV.
