Chapter 729 That’s Unfair, Frieda
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Michael was attending a variety show when this news came out. His agent urgently halted the
filming and pulled him backstage. "Have you offended anyone recently? Someone is out to get you."
"No, I get along well with people. You know that. Who would want to target me? Are you sure you've
got the right person?"
"Bullshit! It's all over the Internet right now!" his agent retorted.
Michael was taken aback. "Let me see."
He showed Michael the blurry photos and the article. Michael took a closer look and said, "Damn it!
That guy isn't me!"
"I know it isnât, but the guy in the photos looks similar to you. That's why I said someone has
deliberately set you up. Can you remember who you offended? We need to visit and apologize to
them to resolve this scandal."
Dumbfounded, Michael said, "I really haven't offended anyone. Who should I apologize to?"
"I'll give you some time to think while I investigate whoâs behind this. This news was released by
several major entertainment companies simultaneously. In other words, the person behind it is
powerful. We can't confront them directly, so it's best to handle it privately."
Feeling annoyed and worried about the negative impact on Chloe's company, Michael thought
carefully and finally composed an apology message for her.

Chloe was swamped with work and did not have time to check her phone. In the evening, the entire
department stayed behind for overtime, and Noah was out entertaining a client. Chloe did not even
have time to have dinner, and her stomach rumbled several times. When her colleague offered to
help order food, Frieda put aside her work and quietly left the office.
In less than ten minutes, she returned with a warm takeaway box and placed it quietly on Chloe's
desk. "Eat. This is the only food the convenience store downstairs had left."
Chloe was smart and could sense the subtle change in Frieda's attitude. If the incident in the
restaurant before was considered a coincidence, this was definitely not. However, she had just
taken on her new responsibilities and had many tasks to handle, not leaving her much spare time to
interact with Frieda. She did not give her any special treatment even though Frieda was the top
salesperson.
Thinking that Chloe did not like the food, Frieda said, "I have some snacks in my drawer. Iâll get
them for you."
"No, it's okay. This is enough."
Chloe quickly shook her head and opened the box, devouring the food inside. It was just a simple
meal, but she looked as if she was enjoying a delicious feast, and her colleagues became hungry
just watching her eat.
"That's unfair, Frieda. We all haven't eaten."
"Yeah, we're starving."
"Ah, our top salesperson is so smart. She always gives us the cold shoulder, yet she's so nice to the
manager."
Chloe glared at them and said, "Enough nonsense. If you're hungry, go home. Everyone has
worked hard today. I'll treat you all to coffee and snacks tomorrow."
Everyone stopped teasing Frieda. They all packed up their stuff and headed home. Chloe, too, shut
down her computer and grabbed her bag before heading downstairs. It was almost 9 now, and there
were only a few people left on the streets.
Chloe tightened her collar and walked toward the parking garage.
"Ms. Chloe."
She heard someone calling her and stopped in her tracks. She turned and saw Lucas coming out of
a black sedan. He approached her and said respectfully, "Ms. Chloe, Mr. Joseph asked me to pick
you up to make a late-night snack tonight."
Chloe looked at him and said, "Do you hear what you're saying? Is it appropriate to ask me to go to
his place so late at night every time?"
Lucas smiled awkwardly. "Mr. Jasper went out with his classmates today and came home late, so
Mr. Joseph would like you to make some food for him."
