Chapter 745 Calling off the Marriage

Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love

The men nodded. "We know the rules."

Some within Duskfall relied on their brawns, while others relied on their brains. They knew that

Xavia was part of the latter, and since she had failed her mission, they could take liberties with her.

Xavia’s eyes went wide with fear. She crawled toward Cyrus and clung to his thigh. "Sir, I'll soon be

a part of the royal family. Please don't do this to me."

“They’re going to help you get rid of Chloe. Shouldn’t you reward them?" Cyrus got up and smiled.

His poker face never failed to inspire fear.

"Sir, I'm still useful. Please show me mercy. I’ve worked hard all these years."

"If you were useful, you would’ve secured Joseph's favor a long time ago. But now, Chloe has even

managed to make a counterattack against you." Cyrus gazed down at her, looking like he was

educating her patiently. “Worthless people just love thinking they're useful. Be good now and

cherish this last chance."

Cyrus pulled her hands away from his thigh and left the room, carrying his tea with him. Xavia

collapsed on the floor in despair. A sense of disgust arose in her as she looked at the eager men.

"Stop crying. It's no big deal. Serve us well and we'll be nice to you."

"Yeah, this is going to be my first time having this much fun in a group.”

"We all work for Mr. Cyrus. It's just that the mission is different this time around. It's not a big deal.

Those women working in clubs are okay with handling such tasks."

"I'm not one of those women!" Xavia roared angrily. She hunched her body and tried her best to

stay away from them.

"Yeah, you're not, but you're a member of Duskfall. What do you think will happen to you if you

disobey Mr. Cyrus?"

Xavia trembled and soon composed herself. She was unwilling to serve these men. Although she

had led a carefree life in the past, those she had laid with were elites and handsome men. It had

been a kind of enjoyment for her.

However, she had no choice but to submit. Once she had gotten through this day, Chloe would die.

At that thought, excitement overwhelmed her. She took a deep breath and wiped away her tears.

She then leaned toward one of the men.

"I'm fragile. Please be gentle with me."

When Noah came out of the meeting, his secretary informed him that Chloe had been looking for

him earlier. He handed her documents to her and said, "I’ll go find her now."

"Mr. Noah, don't you want to have lunch first? It’s been sitting there for some time and is getting

cold."

"It's fine. I'll eat when I get back." Noah strode toward the elevator.

The secretary sighed. "He’s so nice to Ms. Chloe. Rich and loyal men are so rare." On top of that,

Noah did not despise Chloe for being a divorcee.

Noah gently knocked on the glass door of Chloe’s office. His dimples popped as he teased

adoringly, "Ms. Chloe, you’re still hard at work despite it being noon already? Looks like I’ll have to

give you a raise.”

"Not as hard as you. You're always in a meeting or another," Chloe replied seriously, "Have you had

lunch?"

"Not yet."

"Let's eat together then."

Noah smiled and sat down. "Okay."

"By the way, did you sell the resort?" Chloe stuffed a piece of vegetable into her mouth before

looking up at him with a questioning gaze.

Noah was a little taken aback. He met her eyes and answered, "Yeah, I sold it."

"Why? It brings in millions in profit per season."

He put his fork down and explained solemnly, "I don't want you to have any more contact with

Joseph. Selling the resort is worth it if you can cut off contact with him.”

Chloe was dumbstruck. She broke out in a cold sweat. "I never contacted him."

"Coco, stop lying to me. I know everything."

"What do you know?"

Chloe did not want to admit it, holding out hope. Their engagement had been arranged regardless

of her feelings toward Noah, but she still felt guilty and awkward when interrogated this way.

Noah's eyes turned dull and his knuckles turned pale. After a brief pause, he released his fists and

said gently, "I know it's him pestering you. It's not your fault. Just stop seeing him from now on."

Chloe blinked rapidly as her guilt deepened. She said with difficulty but sincerity, "Noah, we have

yet to officiate our relationship. I think you deserve someone better."

She did not fancy Noah and merely thought of him as a younger brother. Desmond was the one

who had made this sudden decision. She was forced to agree to it before she could figure out how

to refuse him. Many years had passed, and Noah and Chloe had never brought up such matters.

Noah treated her the same as he always had.

She knew that she could not delay it any longer. She had to make her feelings clear.

Noah looked crestfallen. "Are you calling off the marriage?"
