Chapter 750 You’re Like a Butterfly, the Mate-Seeking Kind

Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love

Xavia could not comprehend it. How could Chloe, someone who had no relations, be connected to

Callum? Apart from finding her attractive, what other reason could there possibly be for him to be

interested in her?

Cyrus glanced at Xavia and disdainfully threw the whip aside. He took a handkerchief that Otto

handed him to wipe his hands as he asked, "Have you discovered anyone suspicious hanging

around Joseph these few months?"

Xavia blurted out, "No, I remember the photos you gave me. I haven't seen that woman."

Cyrus narrowed his eyes. "No one resembling her at all?"

Xavia trembled. She would not dare lie. "No..."

"Father, there might be another possibility," Otto interjected.

Cyrus looked at him. "Go on."

"Is it possible that she had plastic surgery?"

Did she not escape Duskfall to reunite with Joseph? After so many years, it was unbelieve that

Joseph had not met her even once.

"We’ve looked into this a long time ago. There hasn't been any suspicious woman with plastic

surgery around Joseph."

"Maybe she’s just secretly observing Joseph while in a crowd, disguised as a passerby. Perhaps

that's why we haven’t noticed her."

Cyrus was slightly taken aback, then suddenly smiled. A few wrinkles appeared around his eyes,

making him look gentle again. "Look into it."

"Yes, Father."

"And take her away. The room reeks of blood," Cyrus instructed, waving his hand in Xavia's

direction. Just as she thought she was off the hook, he suddenly said, "Continue to reel Kenneth in,

and don't forget that Jasper is still your son for now."

When push came to shove, Joseph might throw aside all his relationships, including the kid.

For the next few days, Chloe felt very unsettled. She wanted to wholeheartedly believe in Noah,

but... Maybe Joseph was deliberately calling Noah out, but what about Michael?

When Desmond returned from his exercise session, he saw Chloe downing a bowl of oatmeal with

a troubled expression on her face. He put away his golf clubs, sat down across from her with a

smile, and asked, "What's wrong? Feeling down?"

"Not down, I’m doubtful," Chloe replied honestly.

"It's simple. If you have doubts, just ask and seek clarification. Doubts aren’t scary. It’s the act of

keeping everything inside that leads to grudges.”

Chloe fell silent. She then asked, "Grandfather, do you know what I'm talking about?"

"Of course. At this current moment, who else besides Noah is worth your worries? I can tell that you

have feelings for him.”

Chloe blinked a few times. Feelings? Of course, she had feelings, but they were not the romantic

type. She cared for him, but that did not mean it had to be a romantic kind of care.

Desmond encouraged her, "Go and ask, my child. Don't twist yourself into knots. Your engagement

banquet is the day after tomorrow. You two should be harmonious."

When the engagement was brought up, Chloe hesitated to speak.

"Chloe, you should be content. Not everything has to be perfect. After being together for a long

time, being comfortable is more important than love."

Desmond, who had lived half a lifetime, only wanted his granddaughter to be well taken care of. He

wished for her to be a carefree little princess and not be burdened with handling things herself for

the rest of her days. In his eyes, Noah was the most suitable person for her.

"Okay, I understand. Have you eaten? Want some oatmeal?" Chloe changed the subject.

"No, I'm good. I'm going to meet some friends for tea. I should go."

"Okay, come home early."

Chloe finished her oatmeal and then sat at the dining table for a while. She decided to meet with

Michael to talk things through.

In the studio.

"Take a look. Don't I look dashing in this outfit?" Michael's voice brimmed with excitement as he

enthusiastically woke up his manager from his slumber.

The manager rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, you look great. Though you look a bit like a butterfly.” The

mate-seeking kind. The outfit was too flashy.
