Chapter 801 Joseph the Lovestruck Fool

It was a simple question, but it sounded worlds different to the finance director. He trembled and

nearly fell on his knees. "Sir, it's not my fault. We weren’t trying to ride Ms. Chloe's popularity. The

netizens have been talking about her, and surprisingly, our sales improved too."

The finance director was a long-time employee of Fairlight, so he was well aware that Joseph was

once married to Chloe. But for some unknown reason, they got a divorce. During the years she had

been away, no one in Fairlight dared to mention her name. It became a forbidden topic.

Joseph looked up with even deeper confusion in his eyes. "What are you saying?"

The finance director was surprised. "Don't you know, sir?"

"What am I supposed to know?"

The finance director brought up the trending news page on his phone. “Take a look at this, sir."

Joseph took the phone. The screen was filled with photos of Chloe from when she was in

elementary school up until she entered the working world. The helpful netizens had even organized

them into a timeline.

He touched the screen gently and ignored the mean comments. As his gaze was glued to Chloe's

photos, the coldness in his eyes was replaced with tenderness. Her face had been a little smaller

back in elementary school, and it was so chubby.

She looked a little silly but she had won a lot of trophies. And she had learned the piano during

middle school. No wonder she played so well. She then became stunning during high school and

university. Even when she wore no makeup, her confidence was as clear as day.

There was a photo of Chloe’s classmates and her celebrating her birthday together. Her face was

smeared with cake, but her smile was as bright as ever as she held up a peace sign to the camera.

Her youthfulness enticed Joseph to linger on the photo. How nice it would be if he had gotten to

know her back in school. There was no doubt he would have tried to win her over then. He would

protect and give her all his love. After that, they would get married after graduation.

After waiting for an hour, the finance director asked, "Sir, may I know if you are done..." His legs

were numb from standing.

Joseph enlarged Chloe's photos and looked at them a little while more. He then turned off the

phone and handed it back. "Email those photos to me."

The finance director was rendered speechless. Joseph looked like he was addressing the air. When

did he become such a lovestruck fool?

Joseph instructed Lucas to print the photo of Chloe at her birthday party and put it in a photo frame

on his desk. He could then just look up and see her whenever he was at work.

none of your business."

A sense of gloominess invaded Noah's eyes. "You contacted Grandpa?"

"You can come up and listen if you're so curious." Joseph started walking away.

Noah glanced at Chloe's bedroom. After three seconds, he followed Joseph.
