Chapter 829 Seal Away Her Past
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
At a psychology research institution, Noah placed Chloe on a bed.
Upon seeing Noah, Stella said excitedly, "I've heard so much about you lately, Mr. Noah!"
Stella Turner was Noah's junior, and they had met a few times on campus. She had followed in his
footsteps, majoring in psychology, and had landed a job in this research institute after he
recommended her. Although the process was tough, she managed to get hired. Unfortunately, Noah
did not stay with the institute for long before going abroad, and she later heard about his marriage
to Chloe.
Noah nodded. "Where's Professor Alfred?"
"He's in the next room. I'll go get him," Stella said. When she saw the person on the bed was
wearing a mask, she asked curiously, "Is this the patient you mentioned?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, please wait here for a moment," Stella said before turning around and leaving.
Five minutes later, Alfred Hatz walked in. He was a man around sixty years old with a head of gray
hair. Though his eyes were squinted, he looked to be gentle in nature.
"You brat. Youâve finally decided to come visit me?"
"Apologies, Professor Alfred. There's been a lot going on at the office. I sent you a wedding
invitation and hope youâll make the time to attend."
"Of course, I'll be there," Alfred said as he sat down and shifted his gaze to Chloe. "Is this the
patient you mentioned? The one deeply affected by love and unable to move on?"
"Yes."
Alfred waved his hand at Stella. "You can leave now."
Before working on patients, they needed to ensure a quiet and private environment. Stella glanced
in Noah's direction and nodded. She exited the room and closed the door behind her.
"Wake her up. She canât be lying down."
"She was too emotionally agitated, so the doctor gave her a sedative, Professor."
Alfred was taken aback. He stood up and removed the mask from Chloe's face. He exclaimed, "Isn't
this your fiancee?"
"Yes." Noah lowered his gaze. "You're from Aesper, so you should know about her past with Joseph
Whitman, right?"
"I do, but theyâve been divorced for five years. She still can't move on?"
"Yes. Joseph's power and influence were overwhelming while Coco was just an ordinary woman
back then. She suffered tremendous emotional trauma and lost a baby. She fantasizes that the
baby is still alive, and this has trapped her in a cycle of self-blame. Joseph's occasional harassment
also adds to her suffering. Watching all this pains me, and I hope that you can help her."
A sympathetic expression crossed Alfred's face. Many women who lose a baby often become
depressed and develop psychological abnormalities. After enduring immense self-imposed
pressure, it was common for them to imagine that the child was still alive.
"All right, I can see her for counseling therapy, but the process will be lengthy and her recovery will
depend on her cooperation," Alfred said, "Although you haven't formally become a psychologist,
you're sufficiently knowledgeable in the field. Have you tried engaging in some psychological
therapy with her?"
"Thereâs no need for counseling."
Alfred was puzzled. "What do you mean? Is she resistant to it?"
"Not exactly. I just want to use hypnosis to seal away her painful memories."
Alfred fell silent. After a while, he declined, "It's not that I don't want to help you, but using hypnosis
without the consent of the person involved is illegal. You're aware of that, right?"
Noah smiled. "Of course. Donât worry, Professor. Coco gave her consent, but due to her current
mental state, she can't fully wake up. I never intended to make things difficult for you when I
approached you. I just need your guidance. I'm concerned that something unexpected might
happen during the process. After all, you're a professional in this field."
