Chapter 837 Desmond Supports Chloe
Jojo and Coco’s Unexpected Love
Noahâs eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure."
After dinner last night, Desmond said he was tired and returned to his room to rest. He did not
discuss anything with Noah.
Chloe was shocked. It meant that Desmond was hiding this from everyone else. Was he about to
announce something big? He had even kept this hidden from the two of them.
She sat next to Noah while the seat at the head of the table was Desmond's.
After some time, Desmond walked in.
"Everyone, sorry to keep you waiting. I met an old friend on my way here and was delayed." He put
his walking stick down and took the main seat.
"Donât worry, we havenât been waiting long.â
"Itâs rare for us to see you, sir. It's worthwhile no matter how long we wait."
"Yes, it's our honor to see you. Mr. Desmond, have you had breakfast? I got this for you. It's the bun
from the restaurant downstairs you used to love.â
Everyone fawned over Desmond. The pretentious executives smiled from ear to ear. Worried that
he would be displeased, they tried their best to curry his favor.
"No, thank you." Desmond waved. He then instructed his assistant to turn on the screen. "Let's
begin with the profits and losses over the past three years.â
Everyone fell silent. They knew this was not the main point of the meeting but an unnecessary
process. Demond would surely bring up the main topic at the end of the meeting.
An hour later, Desmond's assistant turned off the PowerPoint presentation and, "Sir, thatâs all I have
to report."
"All right." Desmond stood up and looked at Chloe. He smiled. "I'm sure you all know that Chloe is
my granddaughter."
Chloe stood up too, though she did not know what Desmond was getting up to.
Before anyone could answer, Desmond continued, "Iâve decided to hand over thirty percent of my
shares to Chloe as a wedding gift. I'll keep ten percent and collect the dividends as my retirement
fund."
"Oh wow..."
Everyone gasped. If Chloe owned thirty percent of the shares, she would be on par with Noah. And
the ten percent Desmond held onto was a pretty sizable sum. It would make Chloe or Noah the
head of the board depending on who Desmond transferred the remaining ten percent to, making
that person superior to the other.
No one needed ten percent shares as a retirement fund. 0.1% of shares was enough to buy more
than ten nursing homes, let alone ten percent given Exotic Star's yearly profits. Noah's thirty percent
of the shares had been accumulated over time. At first, he had only twenty percent. Through
transferring thirty percent to Chloe, Desmond expressed his support for her.
Chloe's eyes welled up with tears as she was moved. Desmond was not an eloquent-spoken
person and rarely expressed his love toward her, but this gift made things clear as day.
Desmond smiled kindly at her, then turned to the executives, who were shocked. "Today's meeting
ends here. You may leave now." Before he left, he looked at Noah, who showed no expression and
kept his feelings hidden well. "I fired George."
Noah's brows jumped. He finally realized what the problem was.
Desmond was knocking him down a peg.
