CH 36.1
Married To A Savage Duke
Before she knew it, the day of moving Cherrylâs residence to the main castle had finally come.
Due to the busy workers roaming around from morning to late evening, the Great Dukeâs Castle was lively for the first time in a while.
Mrs. Bailey and the maids put her luggage from the spire in a box, and Cadeâs men loaded it into the carriage.
After that, Cole, Axel, and Lecter moved the luggage to the third-floor bedroom.
The maids, who moved with her to the main castle, unpacked her luggage and filled the closets and drawers of the new bedroom.
Cherryl, the hostess, couldnât help them personally with their work but she wandered around telling them where to put her things to organize them.
âI donât want to just play around. I need to know where my things are.â
It wasnât supposed to be a big deal but moving her things from the previous residence to the current one was so hard it lasted for hours.
Cherryl glanced down at the empty boxes in front of the bedroom.
When she first came here, she had a lot of stuff in her suitcase.
She had a dozen boxes containing her luggage even though she only bought the necessary items such as thick coats, winter dresses, and sundries for convenience from merchants who were invited to the Grand Dukeâs territory.
Although there was no limit to the credit card that Cade gave her, she still shouldnât use it without thinking even if her consumption could be adjusted anytime.
Due to the increased burden, she wouldnât have finished the task without everyoneâs help.
It would probably take her several days if she organized everything by herself.
Lecter, moving up and down the stairs, found Lucy in the hallway.
âLucy!â
He carried a heavy-looking box on his shoulder but showed no signs of struggle.
âThereâs a little sweat on my forehead but it keeps going into my eyes. Will you wipe it if you donât mind?â
âOh? Alright.â
Taking out a handkerchief, Lucy approached him and scanned his face but there wasnât a drop of sweat.
âWhere is this sweat youâre talking about? I canât see.â
âItâs probably somewhere on my forehead. Oh, itâs in my eyes again.â
Lucy tapped the handkerchief gently on his forehead.
She didnât seem to notice that she had been tricked when it was clear that he wasnât sweating at all.
âSister! Where should I put this luggage?â
Cole, who had just climbed the stairs, showed up with boxes on either side of his broad shoulders.
âYou can give it to Lily. Iâll be folding my clothes in the bedroom now.â
âLily? Who is that?â Cole murmured past with a puzzled expression.
âSister.â
While she was busy doing other things, she heard Axelâs voice from behind her this time.
He was coming up the stairs with three boxes narrowly stacked in his arms.
âThis is the last luggage we brought from the spire. We already brought all the boxes left in the carriage.â
âThanks to you, the move will be finished by today. Thank you so much for all of your help.â
âYou must have suffered more. What we have is strength.â Axel said casually as he put the boxes down.
As he shook his hands lightly, he saw Lucy wiping Lecterâs face with a handkerchief.
Axel smirked.
âWow! Our youngest is easygoing, indeed. I donât know if heâs helping our sister move or if heâs here to date. Which one is it?â
â!â
Surprised by his mischievous observation, Lucy flinched and stepped away from Lecter.
Not knowing what to do, Lucy blushed and rushed somewhere.
Lecterâs gaze, which was alternating between the thrown handkerchief and her back, turned to Axel at once.
âWhatâs wrong with you? Thatâs going to put Lucy in trouble! Youâre insane.â
âWhat kind of guy are you? Thereâs nothing I canât say to you anymore. Sister and Boss are getting married soon but why are you guys acting all sweet and lovey-dovey?â
Lecterâs face turned as red as Lucyâs.
âHey! What do you mean by âmarriageâ? Do you think I have planned that far with Lucy?â
âThatâs not what I meant. Did love eat your ear off? What a disgrace! Can you fight for it without risking it all, huh?â
âBut⦠itâs not that kind of love! Not yet!â
âOh, youâre really deaf. Youâre a cute guy but you donât have the proper response!â
Axel circled an arm around his neck and squeezed his neck hard as Lecter screamed and struggled from his chokehold.
The violent prank they played with each other seemed closer to a physical fight that they even knocked the console table in the corridor.
Lily screamed at them from the bedroom.
âHey! Â Donât smash the front of the ladyâs bedroom. If you want to fight, get out of here. Especially you, Axel!â
âWeâre not fighting. Weâre just messing around!â
âOh, come on! If you want to mess around, do it outside. Are you helping me with work or making it worse?â
âYou have a shrill voice! You should join us during our swordsmanship practice.â
âWell, is that what youâre going to say to a lady? What a gentleman!â
After breaking through the noisy atmosphere, Cherryl sat on the sofa in a hall on the third floor to take a short breath.
Since her luggage was moved, her struggle was coming to an end bit by bit.
Drinking the cold water the servant had brought, she became conscious at the bottom of the railing.
âWhat is the Grand Prince doing right now?â
Cadeâs bedroom and the office were just downstairs.
At first glance, he seemed to be busy preparing for his duties to strengthen border security and his upcoming wedding at the grand garden.
