Chapter 29. Could I Borrow Your Sword?

[BL] The Darling Villain

"...what are you doing?" Lucilline felt exasperated.

He was busy flinging debris left and right. While he was working a sweat, the Crown Prince was on the side shaking from who knows what. If Lucilline knew that Dimitri was actually shaking from laughter, he would have directly thrown his spear through the latter's head.

"...thinking about something." Dimitri turned back, flashing a smile.

Lucilline's eyes thinned at that. He felt that the Crown Prince wore many different masks. It made it difficult to discern what he really was thinking.

He blocked another flying debris, with it barely missing Dimitri's head.

"Be careful, Your Highness the Crown Prince." Lucilline warned. His spear swung violently against the debris, smashing the broken ceiling into pieces. Small speckles of dirt sprinkled onto the Crown Prince's hair. Dimitri frowned.

I will have to take a shower after this.

His hazel brown irises squinted, as he looked at the black-haired nobleman moving as swift as a feather. Dimitri must admit that Lucilline truly did live up to his words.

He did feel like he was invincible when shielded by Lucilline's spear.

However, was it truly capable of defeating this gigantic demon?

"Stick to the plan," Lucilline ordered, then flashed a glance at the Crown Prince. "Your Highness, next time, pay more attention to your safety. It would be a huge deal if you were crushed by the rubble just now."

Dimitri just shrugged, "I'm fine."

Lucilline clearly did not trust him, and ignored him.

The giant demon had finally found the rose-hilt sword in its eye, pulling it out and throwing the sword at the ground. It skidded to Daphnne's feet, whose eyes widened and picked up the sword. The giant demon had removed the broken blade in its other eye, throwing it at the ground too.

In an instant, both of its wounds at the eyes had recovered!

The demon regained its eyesight, then immediately threw its claws at Lucilline and Dimitri—

Lucilline blocked the claw with his spear, taking the attack head on. His feet were rooted deep into the ground, and felt his calves shaking from the monstrous strength.

His spear began to bend slightly.

The gigantic demon squinted at the little human, who dared to fight back. While the two were stuck in this standstill, both Azalea and Daphnne darted out from the classroom. They carried their swords, and attacked at the gigantic demon's ankle.

Their plan was for Lucilline and Dimitri to distract the demon. While it was distracted, the two protagonists would cut off the demon's legs!

However, Daphnne's heart held fear.

She remembered the last time she cut at the demon's leg—her blade had cracked in halves. What if she is unable to slash at the demon's leg this time?

"Just slash at it!" Azalea encouraged her.

Daphnne was pale, as she raced at the demon's opposing leg. The giant foot was covered in shadows, with claws sticking out from the nails. She no longer cared, and held the rose-hilted sword tightly. The feeling of the carved roses seemed to trace her palms, bringing her a sense of warmth and confidence.

Daphnne gritted her teeth.

Wind rushed from her back, as she cleanly sliced off the demon's foot.

Her eyes widened, unwilling to believe what she had just done. "I did it!" Daphnne quickly leaped backwards, watching the demon fall to the ground from instability.

"We must hurry!" She said. "Before it regenerates its leg!"

Demons were known to have strong regenerative abilities. This was shown from November regenerating her leg, and from the gigantic demon healing its wounds at the eyes.

Azalea understood.

He slashed horizontally at the demon's other ankle, feeling his sword just cutting through a tint of flesh. He gritted his teeth. His muscles raced violently underneath his white shirt, as he summoned strength. Azalea brutally pushed forwards, "GOOO!!!" His blade charged through the tunnel of flesh—cutting off the demon's other leg successfully.

The demon collapsed onto the ground.

Dust and filth ushered everywhere—like a blanket of debris, flying to the horizon of the school building. The rush of wind had almost blown Lucilline away.

He quickly stabbed his spear into the ground, trying to steady himself.

Meanwhile, Dimitri did the same with the Sword of Gravity. He stabilized himself successfully, especially with how heavy the legendary sword was.

Lucilline gritted his teeth, with his face paling.

His spear bent from the great pressure, and he was about to get blown away—A strong and warm feeling embraced him from behind.

Lucilline was stunned.

Dimitri was also stunned. He had no idea what he was doing. Before he knew it, he had extended a hand, and placed it on the black-haired nobleman's waist. He steadied Lucilline, helping the latter stand against the raging winds.

Lucilline quickly turned away, not daring to face the Crown Prince anymore. The latter's hands were warm, and felt scalding against his waist...

He bit his tongue. I need to focus!

Soon, the rush of wind had faded into nothing. The gigantic demon was rooted on the ground, collapsed on its bottom from its two cut off legs.

"Let's go for it!" Azalea and Daphnne rushed out.

Their figures raced past the corridor, and aimed their weapons at the demon's heart. The demon knew that they were going for the kill.

It defended its heart with its claws.

Daphnne skidded across the floor, trying to stop her sword from stabbing into the claws. She was confident that the claws were insanely sharp! There was no way her blade could stand against such a sharp claw! If she attacked it, her sword would immediately break just like last time!

Azalea did not hesitate.

"Wait!" Daphnne wanted to warn him, but the white-haired boy was already wrapped in his momentum. Azalea slashed his sword at the claw, only for his blade to break in halves!

Azalea's gaze darkened.

The demon cackled, then throwing his claw at him!

Daphnne reacted fast, and shoved Azalea away. The latter managed to avoid the demon's surprise counterattack, narrowly almost becoming a puddle of blood.

Daphnne gritted her teeth. She wanted to go for the heart, but the demon guarded it with great attention! She could not find a single spare moment to attack!

"Keep the demon busy!" Lucilline's voice rang out from across the hallway.

"Understood!" Azalea nodded, with Daphnne following suit.

Their two figures continued attacking the wrists of the demon, trying to cut small slits on its flesh while avoiding its metallic claws. Small droplets of scarlet blood slid down its wrist, and the demon tried to retaliate, only to fail.

Azalea and Daphnne were fast, and only blurry images remained of their figures.

The demon's healed eyes had rolled, trying to capture where they stood. "Over here!" Daphnne trolled the demon, sticking out her tongue provocatively.

A low growl came from the demon's mouth.

It was irritated.

Meanwhile, Lucilline negotiated with the Crown Prince, "Could I borrow your sword?"

Dimitri, "..." You want me—a Crown Prince—to borrow you an all-powerful relic passed down by generation after generation of the Royal family? Are you done dreaming!

"Don't worry," Lucilline could see through his thoughts, "It's not like I'm stealing it."

Dimitri looked away.

His strands of golden hair fluttered in the chaotic wind, "That's not what I'm thinking of. I know that you wouldn't steal it, but... I can not see what you'll possibly do with this sword." The Crown Prince's eyes shifted over to Lucilline's slender arms, "I'm already having trouble with wielding the Sword of Gravity. You're even less capable than me—so what makes you think you can wield it?"

The bluntness of his words made Lucilline freeze.

His expression remained blank, as if he'd just been insulted.

"I'm speaking the truth though, aren't I?" Dimitri tilted his head. His hazel eyes squinted, trying to squeeze an answer out from the black-haired nobleman.

"Yes yes," Lucilline sighed, his shoulders slumping. "You're always right, Your Highness the Crown Prince."

He tucked a strand of black hair behind his porcelain white ear, then turned serious. "But taking all that aside, we all know that the Sword of Gravity is a precious relic from the Royal family. It possesses great strength that only the First Great King was able to muster. I doubt that anyone from this generation is capable of using the Sword of Gravity to its fullest strength."

Dimitri nodded.

The Sword of Gravity was a special relic. It possessed great power, but only a person of equal power can use it to its full potential.

In other words, it was a double-edged sword.

"Then what do you suggest?" Dimitri asked.

Lucilline looked at the battle, which engaged of Azalea, Daphnne, and the demon. The thrash of swords, crashes, and crumbles had cried in every crook and cranny.

The black-haired nobleman straightened his back. "I know of someone who can use this sword to its full strength."

Dimitri instantly dropped his jaw, "What!?!"

Lucilline was surprised at the Crown Prince's sudden outburst. Even the latter was surprised at himself. Dimitri quickly composed himself and coughed, "You're not joking with me? How is there anyone that can possibly use the Sword of Gravity to its full potential? That's only possible if they're inhumane..."

"Well," Lucilline chucked, "Thank goodness they're in this building right now."

*****

Azalea dodged another blow from the demon.

He lost strength in his calves, kneeling down on the ground with one leg. His knee was scratched by the debris, leaving a painstakingly crimson red trail of blood.

It was only a small scratch, but it pained the white-haired boy.

"Keep going!" Azalea did not care about his own injuries. He turned to look at Daphnne, who was wheezing for breath. He encouraged his childhood friend. "I think that whatever Lucilline has prepared should be finished by now!"

Daphnne's ears rang a harsh sound.

She let out small puffs of breath. I want this to be over with! I'm not like Az! I will never be a knight! In fact, I don't want to be a knight!

Daphnne looked upwards.

I just wanted to live a life full of praise! I want to be successful... but I don't want to fight! It hurts... I never wanted to fight demons! She gritted her teeth, quickly getting up from her original spot, dodging the demon's fist.

But even so... I was trained by Willow for a reason!

I wanted to become strong for a reason!

Her chestnut brown hair raged wildly against the wind, as her blue irises grew large and round from determination. "Don't stop!"

Azalea looked at her, then felt like his childhood friend had changed from her once pitiful and shy self. He nodded meaningfully, "Continue!"

The crash of metallic sparks had rung out.

Azalea used his broken blade and continuously slashed at the claws. Even though no damage were done, he refused to stop. While he distracted the demon, Daphnne would use the rose-hilt sword to attack the flesh.

As time passed, many cuts and slits were left on the demon.

The demon didn't even bat an eye, as it healed all of its wounds.

"Fine," On the other hand, Dimitri had finished analyzing all of the possibilities, "I will hand over the Sword of Gravity to you... only temporarily until the demon is slain."

Lucilline nodded. "Good."

Dimitri shuffled a hand gracefully into his curly blonde hair, with the locks of glistening gold fluttering in the wind. His straight back and majestic stance showed how much of a Prince he was. With one hand, he passed the Sword of Gravity over.

The black-haired nobleman hesitated. His outstretched hand lingered in the air, then twitched.

Lucilline's pair of slender hands took the sword by its hilt—

The sword immediately crashed into the ground, leaving a solid indent into the cobblestone. Lucilline was stunned—he could barely lift the Sword of Gravity!

He could hardly imagine the difference in strength between him and the Crown Prince.

"Well?" Dimitri flashed a gentlemanly smile. If one didn't know the context behind that smile, they would've thought that the Crown Prince was a kind person! "It will feel heavy at first. Like you've said before, even I haven't mastered this sword yet. Do you think that... you can?"

Lucilline stiffened.

He pursed his lips. He couldn't even lift up the sword, much less to master this sword!

The black-haired nobleman laughed, "I never said that I'll be the one to use this sword! I know someone in this building who should be able to use this! They should be arriving any moment now..."

"Are you talking about me?" A masculine figure dropped behind him.

Augustine's black butler attire was tight around his muscles, exuding a fragrance of masculinity. He lifted his sharp chin, with many knives of assortments held in between his knuckles.

"You—" Lucilline was stunned.

Augustine felt satisfied, and added on, "What plan do you have in mind-"

"Not you!" Lucilline blurted out from shock.

Augustine, who haven't finished his sentence yet, "..." How cruel.

A small and frail hand plopped on his shoulder. "Young Master meant me." Long locks of white hair flowed down a girl's back. Willow snickered, "After all, I'm his most loyal and dutiful servant. Of course he'd find me more reliable-"

"Shut up! I don't want to hear any of your nonsense!" Augustine argued.

"Oh really?" Willow fought back. "We all know that I'm more stronger and capable!"

"I don't think so!" Augustine fumed. "I am an expert in hiding in the shadows! Fighting may not be my strong point, but assassination is something I'm highly skilled in!"

Willow puffed her cheeks. "Young Master doesn't need an assassin! He would rather a fighter who fights fair and square!"

"Who said that I don't fight fair and square!?" Augustine's cold face was scrunched up in anger.

Meanwhile, in the background, both Daphnne and Azalea were exasperated while distracting the gigantic demon, "..." Can't you save all your arguments for later?

"Where was the other guy that was with you?" Dimitri noticed a certain reincarnator missing,

Indeed, Gilg was nowhere near them. "Your Highness the Crown Prince," Augustine didn't dare to meet eyes with this exceptional Prince. He'd only ever read paragraphs of this male lead, but never thought that he'll get to meet him in person!

"That idiot had fled with his other comrade." Augustine scoffed.

When they had escaped from the gigantic demon, he and Gilg started fighting again. In the end, Tetra joined hands with Gilg.

Augustine had no choice but to flee. He ran into Willow, then searched for her Young Master.

"Hmm, is that so then." Dimitri hummed. He originally wanted to award Gilg with some money for saving an innocent student, but since he fled in the end like a coward, then he will give up on that thought.

"Alright, Willow." Lucilline turned to look at his maidservant. "This entire plan depends on you!"

Willow nodded eagerly. "I understand, Young Master!"

She took the Sword of Gravity from the ground, easily heaving it onto a shoulder. "I shall slay the demon now! Be sure to look forward to it, Young Master!"

With enthusiasm, the maidservant quickly left to join the fight.

Left behind in the dust, Dimitri's mouth dropped: ??? The fuck?

Daphnne had already collapsed on the ground, her chest heaving for breath. She felt her lungs burn in pain from exhaustion, as if something clogged her throat.

She coughed, clutching her chest.

The demon swatted a claw at her—only for its hand to be blown into smithereens. Willow had handsomely swung the Sword of Gravity, blowing off the hand into nothing but ashes. "This weapon is truly a miracle, huh." She could partially understand why it was so special.

"Teacher—I mean, Willow!" Daphnne choked out.

"Yup, I'm here." Willow nodded. Her white hair roared gracefully amongst the demon's cries and sobs. Nothing else seemed to faze her.

The heroine couldn't help but blush at the beautiful spectacle.

"I'm going to beat up some demon's ass!" Willow said nonchalantly. She jumped in the air with the Sword of Gravity dancing in her hold. In an instant, she continued to fight the demon. Azalea slashed violently at the demons trying to hurt it.

However, the demon didn't even blink at the harm.

A crooked smile fell on its shadowy mouth.

Then, it growled, "I think I've had enough toying with you." All of a sudden, the demon's legs regrew! Both of the two legs regenerated. The force behind that regeneration had pushed Azalea back, throwing him into a warm yet cold embrace.

"Be careful now." A familiar voice rung at his ears.

Azalea didn't even need to look back. He grimly nodded, and thought to himself subconsciously. Yes, sister.

All of a sudden, a horrendous roar had flooded the school with its heart-wrenching cry. "I'LL MAKE ALL OF YOU PAY!!!" The demon suddenly grew wings, with the large shadow overrunning the entire building. It began to flap its wings, sending gusts of wind to every crook and cranny!

Azalea was instantly knocked over to the side.

His back hit against a wall, and he coughed loudly.

Daphnne was thrown back, landing in Willow's embrace. The two girls tumbled down the hallway, with the gusts of wind blowing them away.

The demon flew high up, breaking an enormous crack in the ceiling!

In an instant, it crashed outside of the building!

All of the noblemen and women outside had gaped at the creature in disbelief—The demon did not care for them. Instead, it focused on its prey inside the building.

It flapped it's monstrous wings, with a burning sensation crawling at its throat...

Dimitri's eyes widened.

He quickly knocked Lucilline down to the ground, "DUCK!!!"

At that moment, a spray of scorching hot fire had spewed through the building. Scalding flames had melted the interior of the school into mere ashes. The smell of smoke had permeated in Lucilline's nose, as he subconsciously curled his body underneath the Crown Prince's chest.

Dimitri couldn't care less, as he nuzzled his face into the black-haired nobleman's nape. He held his breath, avoiding the horrendous smoke all around.

The two of them both didn't dare to breathe.

The warmth of their bodies had strengthened their spirits, as the fire went over their heads, just barely missing them.

A long time seemed to pass.

When the fire had finally faded away, Dimitri retracted his face from the black-haired nobleman's nape. He lifted his head, looking at the latter.

To his surprise, Lucilline seemed especially docile.

For once, this Young Master of the Noble Rubius family was pretty obedient.

"Is it over...?" Lucilline muttered. He clenched on the front lapels of the Crown Prince, unaware of how white his knuckles were. "It's over." Dimitri croaked. He patted the black-haired boy's hand, trying to ease his nerves. "Though the school is basically destroyed..."

Lucilline got up from underneath the Crown Prince.

Indeed, the school was basically in shambles. Half of the building had went up in flames, melting into lava and sweeping into the dirt. The smell of smoke was unnatural and scalding.

Lucilline coughed, holding a sleeve against his nose. "How horrible."

Little scenario:

Lucilline looked around the school, face dark from the destruction that this building had gone through. "How horrible..."

Dimitri nodded to agree. "Indeed, how horrible it is that we had to separate. I wished that we could've stayed in that position for a bit longer—"

"Actually," Azalea coughed. "I don't think that it's that horrible."

Lucilline: ???
