CH 60
Dressed as a Stand-in for the White Moonlight
Lin Suiyan picked up Su Yuli in a bridal carry and went all the way to their bedroom on the second floor.
Su Yuli felt the soft bed on his back. Thinking of the cold war, he hugged Lin Suiyan and wouldnât let him get up. He whispered in Lin Suiyanâs ear, âLetâs not fight anymore, okay?â
Lin Suiyan moved for a while, and then he hummed. He pulled Su Yuliâs arm, got up slightly and kissed Su Yuli on his forehead.
Su Yuli blinked, raised his head slightly, and brought their lips together. Lin Suiyan laughed softly and lowered his head again. The two had a long and gentle kiss.
Su Yuliâs sleepiness had dissipated as early as when he had seen Lin Suiyan. When Lin Suiyan let go of him, he still licked his lips in a daze.
Su Yuli looked into Lin Suiyanâs eyes and said in a low voice, âSuiyan, I think youâve been acting a little strange recently.â
Lin Suiyan hummed softly, and asked, âWhatâs strange?â
Su Yuli thought for a moment and said, âI donât know, itâs just strange.â After a pause, he asked again: âAm I also weird during this time? Do I have a bad temper? Are you angry? Do you hate me?â
âNo.â Lin Suiyan shook his head gently, his expression full of seriousness: âIâm not angry, and I wonât hate you.â
Looking at Lin Suiyanâs gentle eyes, Su Yuliâs heart was full of tenderness and he couldnât help but feel a surge of anger.
He thought that the Lin Suiyan in âSubstituteâ was so scummy, really a good-for-nothing. Wen Jin still loved and trusted him so much. His Lin Suiyan was so good, but Wen Jin always made him angry and hurt him.
Lin Suiyan is obviously such a gentle person. How could Wen Jin bear it?
Su Yuli gently touched Lin Suiyanâs handsome eyebrows with his fingertips, and the two of them stared at each other and quickly kissed each other again.
By the time Su Yuli reacted, the two had nearly met each other sincerely again.
In the midst of confusion, Su Yuli suddenly thought of something. His expression changed, and he panted as he pressed Lin Suiyanâs hand. âSuiyan, noâ¦â
It was possible that Wen Jinâs soul still existed. Although it was only a possibility, Su Yuli still wanted to wait until he had completely understood this matter before making out with Lin Suiyan.
Lin Suiyan seemed to be worried about something until Su Yuli, said softly, âDonât worry, leave it to me, itâs fine.â
Lin Suiyanâs gentleness was not a disguise. It came from his bones, especially when facing Su Yuli. Su Yuli couldnât help but drown in that gentleness. It was just a simple sentence, but it strangely calmed the uneasiness in Su Yuliâs heart.
Su Yuli had no resistance to Lin Suiyan, and under his affectionate gaze, he quickly raised his hand and surrendered.
After regaining their long-lost intimacy, they somewhat lost themselves in their feelings. Su Yuli couldnât help pestering Lin Suiyan again and again. It seemed that only in this way could the confusion at the bottom of his heart be erased.
When the tenderness ended, Su Yuli was so tired that he couldnât even open his eyes. Lin Suiyan carried him to the tub to clean up. Su Yuli soaked in the warm bathtub, a little drowsy.
Lin Suiyan pushed Su Yuliâs wet hair behind his ear and asked in a low voice, âXiao Jin, do you believe me?â
Su Yuli was puzzled at first, âhuh?â He gave a sound, followed by a nod. Although he didnât know why Lin Suiyan asked, Su Yuli trusted Lin Suiyan very much.
Lin Suiyanâs expression became more and more gentle. He touched Su Yuliâs cheek with his hand wet with water and whispered: âXiao Jin, no matter what I do next, you must believe me. You must remember, I love you.â
He groped in the water and clasped Su Yuliâs fingers: âGive me some time. Iâll do it as soon as possibleâ¦â
Su Yuli has traveled frequently during this period of time, whether in this world or in the world he originally lived in. His spirit has been tense, and he hasnât had a good rest. Today, he spent a few hours fooling around with Lin Suiyan again. He felt sleepy and tired, and he couldnât keep his eyes open. He knew that Lin Suiyan was talking to him, but his dazed mind couldnât remember what he said. Su Yuli hummed in confusion and fell into a deep dream.
When Su Yuli opened his eyes, the sky was already bright. After he woke up, he saw Lin Suiyanâs sleeping face close at hand, and his heart was filled with unprecedented satisfaction.
Su Yuli couldnât help but lean in and kissed Lin Suiyan on the lips. Before he could back away, he was caught by Lin Suiyan. The two rolled to one place and didnât get up until noon.
Su Yuli put on his clothes, and when he turned around, he saw that Lin Suiyan was still leaning on the bed lazily, not intending to get up. So he asked, âArenât you going to work today?â
Lin Suiyan kissed him on the forehead: âIâll accompany you today.â
Lin Suiyan said this but after lunch, he began to get busy. He placed Su Yuli on the sofa, turned on the TV for him, and locked himself in the study. He didnât know what he was busy with.
Su Yuli knew in his heart that Lin Suiyan must have important things to do, but he couldnât help but run several times to bring food and drink to Lin Suiyan.
Lin Suiyan wasnât angry when he was disturbed. Every time Su Yuli walked into the study, he would say a few words to him.
This day of leisure time suppressed the confusion and panic about the future in Su Yuliâs heart. He thought that as long as he was with Lin Suiyan, anything could be solved.
Although Lin Suiyan was busy with his work the next day. He was so busy that he didnât have breakfast with him, and he didnât even have time to reply to his WeChat. Su Yuli thought of the tenderness and love that Lin Suiyan showed that day. He felt sorry for Lin Suiyan for working so hard, but at the same time he couldnât help but feel that this was also good.
Lin Suiyan was so busy, if he went back, then the âWen Jinâ who controlled his body wouldnât be able to quarrel with Lin Suiyan.
In the blink of an eye, another half a month had passed. Su Yuli was still traveling back and forth between the two worlds frequently. On this day, Su Yuli went back to the world of âSubstituteâ again, and caught a cold from sleeping without his quilt on during the night.
This time he wasnât as lucky as last time. He got a cold. If Aunt Xu hadnât knocked on the door, Su Yuli would be burned silly by a high fever.
Feeling that someone appeared next to him, Su Yuli opened his eyes with difficulty, and saw Aunt Xu retracting her hand with a solemn face.
âAunt Xu?â Su Yuli asked in confusion, âWhy are you up here? What time is it?â
Except for cleaning during the week Aunt Xu rarely came near when he and Lin Suiyan were in the bedroom. Su Yuliâs first reaction was that Aunt Xu had come up and asked him to eat. As soon as he opened his mouth, he realized that his voice was hoarse, and he couldnât help coughing a few times.
Aunt Xu pressed Su Yuli down before he could get up: âXiao Jin, you have a high fever Lie down and Iâll contact the doctor.â
Su Yuli was pressed down by Aunt Xuâs strength. He rolled over and said to himself, saying that it was no wonder that he felt so uncomfortable. He had a fever. He looked around, but didnât see Lin Suiyanâs figure, so he asked where he was.
Aunt Xu hung up the phone before replying: âSir went to the company early in the morning. Iâll call him.â
However, when the doctor arrived, he treated Su Yuli and prescribed antipyretic drugs. And their phone calls still couldnât get through to Lin Suiyan.
Elder Lin was shocked. He sat beside him and slammed the table angrily. âWhat exactly is this kid doing? He lives in the same house. Anyone who is careful can tell that something is wrong.â
The housekeeper Kang Shu poured some water for Mr. Lin to calm him down.
Su Yuli smiled weakly at the old man Lin: âGrandpa, Suiyan is busy these days. He may be in a meeting, and not have his mobile phone with him. Donât be angry. When he comes back I will talk to him properly.â
Looking at Su Yuliâs pale face, old Lin was very distressed. He nodded, got up and said, âThen you should rest. We wonât disturb you here.â
Su Yuli took the antipyretic and was really sleepy, he said: âOK, Grandpa, Iâll talk to you after I get some sleep.â
Mr. Lin really liked Su Yuli very much. His expression softened after hearing this, and he smiled: âOkay, Grandpa is waiting for you.â
With a soft click, Su Yuli was the only one left in the room. When Aunt Xu left, the curtains were drawn, and the room was plunged into darkness. This level of brightness was very suitable for sleeping.
Su Yuli stared at the ceiling with his eyes open. Perhaps because of his illness, Su Yuli felt a little vulnerable. He knew in his heart that Lin Suiyan was very busy recently, but as Mr. Lin said, two people living in the same room, even if they had a snack, they would be able to notice something different about their partner, but Lin Suiyan didnât.
Su Yuli was a little uncomfortable. Lin Suiyan was obviously such a gentle and considerate person. Why was there something wrong with him these days?
Su Yuli was thinking about it, and soon fell into a dark dream.
When Su Yuli opened his eyes again, he saw Lin Suiyan sitting on the sofa. His shoulders straight, his head slightly lowered, and his mobile phone in his hand, as if he were answering someoneâs message.
Hearing the movement, Lin Suiyan raised his head, and when he met Su Yuliâs eyes, he paused, then put the phone away.
Lin Suiyan got up and walked over. Su Yuli heard the sound of the phone vibrating in his pocket, someone should have replied. Lin Suiyan ignored it. He came to Su Yuli, looked at his face, and said, âYouâre awake.â
Su Yuli hummed. Then he heard the vibrating sound of the phone in Lin Suiyanâs pocket. Seeing that Lin Suiyan didnât mean to look at his phone, he asked suspiciously, âArenât you going to look at it?â
Lin Suiyan took out the phone, muted it, and put it back: âItâs the secretary, no big deal.â He sat down beside the bed: âAre you thirsty? Do you want some water?â
Su Yuli hummed. Before Lin Suiyan could move someone knocked on the door. The next moment Aunt Xu came in with a cup of hot water.
Su Yuli took a sip of hot water, and Aunt Xu tested the temperature of his forehead with her hand. Her expression was still serious: âItâs still a little hot.â
Su Yuli soothingly shook Aunt Xuâs hand and said, âIâm much more comfortable.
He put the empty cup down, and suddenly noticed that Lin Suiyan was dressed neatly. His hair was meticulous, which was completely unlike the casual appearance he usually showed at home.
Su Yuli looked at the time. It was already dark. He asked, âSuiyan, are you going out tonight?â
Lin Suiyan said briefly, âThere is a dinner party in the evening.â
Su Yuli snorted: âDinner party? Whose house is it?â
As soon as he came back, he fell ill. No one told him, so naturally he didnât know about it. Su Yuli lifted the quilt: âThen wait for me and Iâll tidy up.â
Aunt Xu was startled, and quickly pressed Su Yuli: âItâs windy at night, Xiao Jin. Youâre still ill, so donât go.â
Su Yuli said, âButâ¦â
Su Yuli and Aunt Xu looked at Lin Suiyan at the same time, as if asking for his opinion.
Lin Suiyan looked into Su Yuliâs eyes and said, âWhat Aunt Xu said is that you can recuperate at home with peace of mind. You donât have to accompany me.â
Lin Suiyan said this so, Su Yuli sighed. Then he slowly lay back under the force of Aunt Xuâs hand. Lin Suiyan gave some more directions to Aunt Xu and then left.
Looking at Lin Suiyanâs back, Su Yuli felt a little bored for no reason. He had thought that Lin Suiyan would put off the party to accompany him at home, but Lin Suiyan didnât.
Su Yuliâs loss was so obvious that Aunt Xu called out to him.
Su Yuli came back to his senses. He looked back at Aunt Xuâs worried gaze and reacted suddenly. He smiled lightly, thinking to himself that it was no wonder that others said that sick people were very vulnerable. He has been in good health since he was a child. Why did he suddenly start to make trouble when he was ill? Since Lin Suiyan received the invitation, how could he not go if he had promised to?
Su Yuli felt much better after he thought about it.
In the end, he was young. Although the high fever Su Yuli had was menacing, he recovered so well that he could go downstairs for dinner. However, no matter how good the foundation was, under the power of antipyretic medicine, Su Yuli fell asleep again after supper.
In his dream, Su Yuli found himself at a lively and grand wedding.
The wedding was covered with red roses, a symbol of love, warm and extravagant. The faces of the people who came to the wedding were filled with bright smiles. Su Yuli looked for Lin Suiyanâs figure in the crowd, but couldnât find him.
Someone shouted, âWill the bride and groom exchange rings now.â
Su Yuli turned around suddenly, and then his pupils suddenly tightened, as if he couldnât believe it â
Only to see, Lin Suiyan on the stage gently putting a ring on Luo Xingâs left ring finger.
Su Yuli felt his head buzzing. Then he saw Luo Xingâs eyes pass through the crowd, fall on him, and give him a provocative smile.
Su Yuli wanted to step forward and push Luo Xing away, but the scene before him changed. He was driving fast on the road when a truck hit him â
Su Yuli screamed âahâ, and suddenly sat up in bed. He gasped, his face pale, only to realize that he had broken out in a cold sweat.
Finally, Su Yuli wiped the cold sweat on his forehead and took a look at his phone. It was half past nine in the evening and Lin Suiyan hadnât come back. With trembling fingertips, he sent Lin Suiyan a WeChat message, but he didnât respond.
The scene in the dream made Su Yuli very flustered, and he desperately wanted to see Lin Suiyan.
Su Yuli called Lin Suiyan twice, but he didnât answer either time. Su Yuli finally couldnât help getting up and change his clothes. He ignored Aunt Xu trying to stop him and went out. In the end, the housekeeper Uncle Kang chased after him and drove him to the hotel.
