Chapter 62
I Don’t Want the Obsession of a Twisted Archduke
Kyle was waiting with impatience for Geppel to answer.
*** Erenthal ***
At the moment, priest Erenthal was very embarrassed.
Obviously, his choice was right. Sending Kyle and Sejan into the Second Library was the best of life choice. Or his life would have ended before he could have made another choice.
However, a problem occurred on the second floor.
As soon as he climbed the stairs on the second floor, Kyle literally disappeared like the wind. Correct. It was truer to say that he walked so fast that his eyes couldnât keep up with him. To the extent that it didnât seem like human speed.
âMaybe itâs because heâs the Archduke.â
Erenthal for a moment considered the elegant figure.
While processing all the information, there was a huge blast. The Archduke had finally torn down the wall of the library.
ââ¦one man cut through the library wall with a dagger. The other guyâs breaking the walls⦠Oh, you crazy people.â
Erenthal felt it would not be too long before he wrote his resignation.
There was a name that was clearly rigging in Erenthalâs ears.
â⦠Geppel Luna. I asked what you two were doing now.â
What, Geppel Luna? The High Priest?
âWhere, where, where?â
Erenthal looked around and found an opponent in front of Kyle. It was weird. Kyle was looking at a little kid who looked about ten years old, not Geppel. Besides, that child was a distant relative of the High Priest but couldnât remember the name of the child.
Anyway, Erenthal thought the archduke had made a mistake, or that, perhaps he had heard it wrong.
âBy the way, isnât that a little dangerous?â
This was obviously a confrontation.
âWhat are you doing? Are you asking even after seeing it?â
Then, when a relativeâs child spoke with his mouth open, Erenthal coughed up.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
âThat child is dying to die!â
From Erenthalâs side, he could only see the back of the archduke, but it was clear even without looking at it. The dark energy all over his body, the posture; the Archdukeâs eyes were already red.
The red eyes of death that bring blood and slaughter.
He thought there were only two people who could stop this situation. One was the madman knight next to him, the other was the Miracle High Priest of the Arcane Temple.
First, Erenthal glanced at the madman knight and shook his head with a desperate look.
â⦠no. This guyâs not good.â
This lunatic knight was watching the whole situation developing with a grin, as if this looked like a lot of fun.
But there was hope.
âThe priests will be here soon.â
If there was a loud noise like this, they would come in flock.
It was probably too much for Lantes, but there was the High Priest⦠As long as he didnât decide to play hooky.
âPlease, please, I hope the High Priest didnât play hooky.â
While Erenthal prayed eagerly without knowing whether the child in front of him was Geppel. The conversation between Kyle and Geppel continued.
Kyle burst in anger at Geppelâs reply.
âAre you trying to do what I think you are doing?â
âWell, thatâs something I donât know. How do I know what impure thoughts you have?â
â⦠You had an impure thought.â
âOh, is that so?â
Kyleâs temperature dropped below zero at the vague answer.
âIâm screwed!â
Erenthal ended up feeling in pure despair.
As Kyleâs right hand was gradually shining brighter, a white swirling light. It seemed he was trying to use magic that gathered the element of ice and wind.
If such a thing was true, the library would fly away.
âHey, you crazy dragon. Are you so angry that this little boy was with her Highness for a second?â
Someone would think they were having an affair.
âEven if this is the scene of an affair, I wouldnât do that!â
Shortly after marriage, the head of a family, priest Erenthal with two children and a foxy wife kept believing that it was important to stick together and survive as a family unit, but⦠If Erenthal turned a blind eye to such a dangerous situation.
âAs an Arcane priest, you will never be able to raise your head!â
Thus, he was about to rush with his eyes closed.
âNo, Kyle.â
A firm voice was heard from the side of the child. It was the voice of her Highness.
âIf you use that kind of magic, the library will be blown away. The debris could hurt an innocent person.â
That was right. Riddelâs words were absolutely right, but was it okay? What a reckless thing to say to that fierce beast.
âYouâre going to die, your Highness.â
Erenthal felt nervous but decided to hold his breath and watch the situation developing⦠Because Kyle stopped.
***
Suddenly, my heart was racing. As I looked at Kyleâs bloodless face. He just stood still, not moving a single step. Like a dead man.
âI canât do this. I donât even know what to say.â
But why?
Kyle snorted faster than I could have said something.
âRiddel Spencer. Youâre saying such a ridiculous thing. It would be you who broke the promise first. Where the hell are you talking about?â
That was right.
Kyle was so angry that he couldnât control his emotions. He would have already destroyed the temple if it had been the case, but he had only one strand of reason left.
My head was full of thoughts, trying to find one that could silence Kyleâs anger. The thoughts were colliding around to the point of dizziness, I began to complain about the injustice of the situation.
âOf course, itâs true that we were together without telling you. As a result, itâs true that I didnât keep my promise. Iâm really sorry about that.â
ââ¦â
âBut this was unexpected, and I⦠This kid just found me a book withâ¦â
âAre you worried about that and trying to hide his identity in this situation? What a tearful sight.â
It was clearly counterproductive.
Kyle was colder than ever before. Moreover, he was not even happy that I was conscious of Erenthal and trying to hide Geppelâs identity.
As a matter of fact, I was really upset.
I knew Kyle was right about what I said earlier, but it was all about lifting his curse. Iâve never done anything shameful in the first place.
Tock, tock.
Moments later, there was the sound of Kyle approaching. Only Kyleâs footsteps were clearly heard in the grotesque silence.
Geppel clearly wanted to stop Kyle at any moment. Keeping himself in check, he watched the situation a little more before stepping up when it became dangerous. There was something Geppel wanted to confirm about their relationship, and this was Riddelâs appreciation.
My eyes gradually wavered looking at Kyleâs, so cold eyes. Itâs been a long time since I saw his eyes so cold.
Finally, Kyle approached me and opened his mouth.
âRiddel Spencer. What the hell do you want from me?â
ââ¦â
âDo you really think I wonât do anything to you?â
ââ¦â
âI could imprison you for the rest of your life, or your parents, or even destroy yourlove-struck love, Doman Woodhill, to shreds.â
ââ¦â
âAs long as I live, you are mine. So from now on, listen to meâ¦â
âNo.â
While I listened to Kyle silently, I abruptly cut him off. It was a tone lower than usual, something understated.
âKyle, Iâm not yours.â
Shortly thereafter, I opened my mouth while gently shaking my head. It was a sign that Kyle was wrong.
âI canât be owned by anyone⦠I am not an item to be own.â
His eyes, which were out of focus, stared silently at me. I thought to myself.
âThere must be some reason left within him.â
It wasn't that Kyle loosened the magic orb that was hanging on my hand. Nevertheless, I could tell.
âHe didnât cast magic.â
If it were him, he would have attacked without mercy several times before he was so angry.
âKyleâs reason still remains.â
Furthermore, it was also proof that Kyle could listen to me. I didnât want to miss this opportunity.
âDoes Kyle really want to hurt me? You want to lock me up and kill my parents? You donât.â
ââ¦â
âI like the people of the Great Duchy. I also like Kyle.â
âGood⦠Everythingâ¦?â
Kyle, who had been listening to me all along, responded for the first time. I stepped up his words on the strength of the act.
âYes, I like Kyle. Thatâs why I donât want to leave the Great Duchy. So collect your anger.â
Sadly, however, the dark energy surrounding Kyle and the form of the magic sphere he was unfolding remained unchanged and bloody brutal.
His expression also remained stiff.
