EP 19 - My Teddy

No matter how strong Akshara thought she was, the past was something so painful that she couldn't get over it no matter how many years have passed.

The people she trusted the most, the people she treated like family have backstabbed her in the worst possible way, leaving the scars deep inside her heart.

Akshara couldn't hide her distress from Abhimanyu, no matter how she pretended to be fine. Her Abhi could only need a glance of her to know she was not okay. And it's been three days Akshara has been down for reason unknown to Abhimanyu.

He didn't want to intrude into her worries, not because he was not concerned but he wanted to give her the space she needs. He wanted her to be ready to share her fears with him, just like how she has given him.

To change her mood, he decided to take her out on the date. And since he has never taken her out after they started dating, it was the right moment for this.

He and Neil had carefully planned everything, the place they will visit to making sure they were both available that day from their shifts. Abhimanyu was relieved when all was done as per his plan.

Akshara was going through patient's files when she heard the knock on her cabin. She said the small "come in" but the person on the other side didn't opem the door and knocked again instead.

She frowned and asked whoever was outside to come in again, a little louder than before, but there was yet another knock.

Annoyed she got up from her seat, and marched towards the door to give the person an earful about the same. The moment she opened the door, she was taken aback.

Because there was no human in sight, but a large human sized teddy bear outside her cabin. Dumbfounded, she looked around to see who dropped it but couldn't find anybody.

Akshara looked at the fluffy bear which was as white as snow, his facial features screaming cuteness that she couldn't help but hug this massive ball of softness. A big smile lightened her face, as she figured out who in the world would gift her this adorable thing.

"Akshu, tell me again why are we watching cute dog videos again? Like we could watch a movie or something?" Abhimanyu grumbled as he asked his girlfriend who was busy staring at these cute little creatures.

"Abhi, they are shooooo cute. How I wish I can cuddle them all" Akshara hugged herself as if she was hugging a ton of these dogs.

"Do you love pets like dogs?" Abhimanyu asked curiously. They had just started dating and were exploring things about each other. He wanted to know everything about his girl.

"YES!! I LOVE THEM! Not just them, I have a weird fetish for large cuddly teddy bears. Oh! How one time I wanted to this huge white teddy bear that I saw at the mall, but dadu refused me saying that he would take the whole bed and then I won't be able to sleep on the same. I'm that crazy about adorable things." Akshara exclaimed excitedly as Abhi smied at his adorable teddy.

"Then that means you find me cute, since you're infinitely crazy about me?" He smirked making her eyes widen. She blinked her eyes for few seconds and then laughed heartily.

"Lame Dr. Birla. Ohmygod! That was so cringe! Hahahaha"

And that was the first time Akshara witnessed someone's face go red in a second.

"I love the surprise, my darling Birla." She chuckled and hugged the teddy bear tightly before taking him inside her room. Finally, she noticed a small note hidden inside his bow tie, which read "to my wildcat" on the envelope.

She took it out and opened it to read her boyfriend's messy, sorry doctor's handwriting.

My Wildcat,

I have had the privilege to write this letter to my most important person, my love, my life. I sincerely hope you loved my little present, but I know you'll absolutely love the next surprise. Be ready at 5 and I'll pick you up at your house. Don't worry, I've taken the permission so you can go home by 3, since you girls take 'forever' to get ready. See you in the evening, I absolutely can't wait.

Akshara laughed softly how professional yet cute his letter was. This was her Abhi, who can sense her sadness and will try to bring the smile on her face.

She felt lucky to be able to meet a partner like him, who not only is her biggest supporter but also her source of happiness. She re-read the letter and opened her drawer to keep this one in her secret stash of 'Abhi's letters to her'. One more to the collection.

Oh! How she just can't wait for evening to come.
