Chapter Seventeen

Ren

Sam Smith concert tickets. He got me Sam Smith concert tickets! Andre says it would make a great first date, but I disagree. Merely hanging out together would already be a great first date. But it's Sam-freaking-Smith! How can I reject such an offer?

"Oh, won't you stay with me?

'Cause you're all I need

This ain't love, it's clear to see

But darling, stay with me."

I look around and see people have their flashlights on, waving their phones in the air. I turn on my flashlight and do the same. Andre wraps his arms around my waist and sways with me. I look up and Andre smiles, looking down at me. He leans down and plants a kiss on my temple.

Can it stay like this forever? Me, wrapped in Andre's arms, listening to Sam sing. It's perfect.

"Thank you so much for coming everyone!" Sam yells and the crowd goes wild. The crowd slowly starts to exit and Andre holds my hand to make sure he doesn't lose me in the crowd. We head out and to the parking lot.

"That. Was. Amazing!" I wrap my arms around his neck and automatically wraps his around my waist, closing the gap between us. I pull away, just enough to look at me. I smile. "Thank you so much, Andre."

He smiles down at me. "It will always be my pleasure, Ren."

As a gentleman, he opens the passenger door and lets me in before closing the door. He swiftly gets to the driver's seat and starts to drive back to the UNI. He puts on some more Sam Smith tunes and we both sing along. We can never get enough of Sam Smith.

We arrive at the UNI and Andre decides to walk me back to my dorm. Our walk is silent and all I can think about is being his girlfriend. When will he ask me to be his?

We stand in front of my door and I turn to face him. "Thank you again," I say.

"You're welcome," he grins.

I shuffle in place. Should I just go in? Do I hug him? Oh Gosh. What do I do? "Well, you must be drained. I'll let you get your beauty sleep."

"Good night, Andre." I stand on my tip-toes and aim to plant a kiss on his cheek. He grabs my chin and faces my face directly at his. He leans in just enough for our lips to be inches apart. He waits for me ot make the move.

And I do.

I lean in and we kiss. I close my eyes and wrap my arms around his waist. Both his hands make its way to either side of my face, holding it. He licks the bottom of my lip and I open my mouth to let his tongue in. He tilts his head to the side for better access. Without breaking apart, he manages to move us against the wall with my back against it. I bring my arms around his neck. One hand wraps around my waist while the other is on the wall, supporting himself.

Fireworks. It feels like fireworks. Now I know what the fuss was all about. We continue making out until I hear the door slam. I quickly pull away and look at the door. Crap.

"I have to go," I say softly.

He nods, not moving an inch away. He looks down at me and I look up at his pink and now swollen lips. "You never fail to surprise me, Harper." He smirks. "Good night," he whispers and pecks me on the lips on last time before leaving.

I sigh and look up, staring at the ceiling. That just happened. I just had a hot make out session with Andre. I fix my hair and clothes before opening the door and walking in. I find Austin leaning against his desk, staring at the floor.

"What the fuck was that?" he growls.

"What?"

He looks up at me and his expression shows anger and a bunch of other emotions – it's hard to read. He narrows his eyes at me. "You were fucking making out with Andre," he says exasperated. "Care to fucking explain?"

I raise my eyebrows at him. Is he serious? "You want me to explain? I don't have to explain anything to you because last I checked you aren't my father," I spat.

He scoffs, "Someone had to look after you after what you call your father left you and your family."

My face drops. His eyes slightly widen, realizing what he had just said. "Ren-"

I bring my hand up and slap him across his face. He face snaps to the left and a red mark imprints on his cheek. "How dare you say something like that?" I say, firmly. "Screw you, Lancer."

I turn around and sit on my bed, putting my earphones and opening a book I have been reading. I don't play any music but I try my best to ignore him. I sigh and clench my jaw.

"It kills me..." he trails off, sighing. "...knowing that you're spending almost most of your time with him. And seeing you guys make out? It fucking tore me apart." He says softly. His voice is so quiet, if I was actually playing music I wouldn't have been able to hear him.

I pull an earphone out and look at him. "Why do you even care?"

"You're a smart girl, figure it out." He says before leaving.

What does he mean? I sigh, frustrated. So much drama. I put my earphones back in and continue reading when I hear a faint knock on my door. I groan and remove my earphones. "It's open!"

The door opens and Adam comes in. He gives me a small smile before sitting at the edge of my bed. "Care to explain to what happened to you and Austin?"

I tell him everything from the concert to when Austin left the room. Adam gapes at me. "You just met the day," he points out.

"So?"

"So? And you made out with him!"

I roll my eyes. "It's not like you've never done that with a girl."

He sighs, "This is different, okay?"

I cross my arms over my chest, raising an eyebrow. "How so?"

"First and for most, when I make out with girls and plan on not settling with them I make sure the odds of ever seeing them again are low. Second, things with Andre can escalate quickly, unexpectedly." He says.

"What's so bad about that? I'm happy with Andre and I can't wait to take the next step with him."

"Exactly. So say that you guys end up together, what then? He'll be leaving for Spain soon," he adds.

I shrug, "If it's true, then we'll figure it out."

He sighs, "Just be careful, alright?"

"You do deserve to be happy and together with the right guy, Ren. Remember that." He adds.
