Chapter Twenty-Nine

Formal night. I blink my eyes open and I smell the familiar cologne of Austin. My eyes adjust to my surroundings and I see...nothing. I bring my hands up and feel Austin's chest blocking my view. I lightly push him and lift my head up.

I sit up slowly and Austin stirs in his sleep. I get out of bed and lean down, kissing him on the cheek. He smiles, blinking his eyes open. "Good morning," his voice so raspy and sexy.

"Good morning," I kiss him on the cheek again.

"I can definitely get used to this," he says.

I grab my phone and press the lock button, checking the time. Eleven-thirty. No! I quickly get in the shower and change into shorts and a button down shirt. I grab my wallet and put on my shoes. "I'm going to grab some bagels and coffee and head over to Megan's. I'll see you later," I tell him before rushing out.

I grab some bagels and coffee from the café before heading back up to Megan's room. Megan is just putting on her shoes when I enter. I hand her one of the coffees and she grabs her purse before we head to Alanna's room. Alanna, on the other, is still in the shower. While waiting, we eat the bagels and finish our coffee.

Alanna gets out of the shower and changes into the same thing that I'm wearing and we all head down to the parking lot. Tonight is the formal, so the entire afternoon is to be spent for our nails, hair and makeup. I drive to the salon and we get our nails done first.

I had mine painted pastel pink, Megan's black and Alanna's red. Time for our hair. Alanna has her hair pinned up in a bun with French braids on each side of her head. Megan added extensions and has her hair in a high ponytail. And I simple have mine curled and let it flow down my back.

"I'm still hungry," Megan tells us.

"Me too," Alanna says.

"I can text Austin to bring some McDonald's for us," I tell them.

"Please," they plead.

I text Austin our orders and he comes fifteen minutes later. Megan and Alanna start eating their fries. Austin kisses me on the cheek. "You look beautiful," he says.

I chuckle, "I'm not even wearing makeup yet."

He furrow his brows. "I know and you're still breathtaking."

I blush and Alanna and Megan start teasing. Austin grabs my hand and kisses my knuckles before leaving. "I'll see you later," he winks at me. He turns to the other two, "See you guys later."

He leaves and my makeup artist gapes at me. "Was that your boyfriend?"

I nod, "He is." I blush at the question.

She whistles, "He's a definite keeper."

"Tell me about it."

I finish my makeup before Megan and Alanna. I check the time and it's almost six. Seriously? I wait for the girls to finish and when they do, we pay and thank the stylists for everything. I drive back to the campus and we all head to Megan's room to put on our dresses.

We put on our dresses and heels. We stare at each other in the mirror. "We look hot," Megan says.

"We could totally pass as Charlie's angels," Alanna laughs.

We do a little fashion runway and take selfies and whatnot. We laugh and make jokes and gosh, we're simply having fun. And we aren't even at the formal yet.

We start filling our clutches with the things we might need later on. Someone knocks on the door and Alanna opens it, revealing three good-looking guys, but one only catches my attention.

Austin.

He steps inside, holding a bouquet of flowers. He smiles, handing it to me. I bring it close to my face and smell it. "They're lovely, Austin. Thank you." I lay it on the bed and he pulls me close by my waist.

"Beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady," he says. "And I know I've said this a million times, but you look absolutely breathtaking." He tells me and I blush red.

"And you don't look too shabby, Lancer." I grin at him.

We take a couple of pictures with all six of us together and some with just us two. Everyone starts leaving. Austin and I turn everything off and lock the door behind us.

He intertwines our hands and looks at me. "You ready?" he asks.

I nod, "More than you can think."
